This will affect so many in ways their now not thinking of! Net Neutrality!
This will affect so many in ways their now not thinking of!

1. Sorry Microsoft you might be going out of business, No one needs Window’s anymore we can’t afford The ISP fees anymore! Oh… And you should Stop making Xbox’s. No One can afford the IPS fees, and no one wants to play on a laggy internet connections. So, No sale. Might as well lay off those support people now.

2. Sorry EA games, you will not be selling many games anymore! Why buy a new game that is mostly internet based if we have no internet connection, or our ISP is slowing to the point of lag. No Point of playing anymore. Might as well lay the support people off now. No need for them.

3. Sorry Sony, we don’t need PS4 consoles anymore, we can’t afford the internet connection anymore or the games that go with it. We’re not going to play on laggy connections. Might as well lay the support people off now.

4. Sorry Bankers, get ready to implement a lot more paper transaction! People can’t afford to pay their bill online now. To slow, Online banking block without paying a fee, and there spying on us.
5. Sorry Stock Traders, you will now have to pay a fee to access your broker, that will eat up all you trade profits.

if net nutrition was that of a big deal there would be healthier people?

6. Sorry Schools and Student, No more study on the internet! Can’t afford it, and due to being put in the slow lane it will be faster to look stuff up in a book.

7. Sorry GoDaddy, HostGator and other web site host, sorry your going out of business most small business who depend on the internet to run their business will not need your services anymore, since they will not be able to pay the high fees to get traffic to their sites. No Traffic no business. We will be Canceling our web hosting.

8. Sorry Apple and Android, No Sale on that new phone! We can’t afford the data connection fee and we can’t get to the web site we want with out paying for each site. To Costly! Back to land lines!

9. Sorry online tax filing businesses, No one will be filing there taxes online anymore, can’t get to the site, Oh.. and there spying on us.

dont you understand what net nuetraility means

Net neutrality is as retarded as this post

10. Sorry Netflix, Hulu or any other online TV service for having to go out of business, we can’t pay the extra ISP fees to watch your shows lag fee. So, we will be Canceling our account! And now with the extra fees on top of your service fee might as well go DIRECTV. More channels and cost the same.

11. Sorry internet music service providers for having to go out of business, they want to charge more than it’s worth to access your music, and extra fees per download. To Costly! Back to the table top radio.

12. Sorry to any online gaming service providers, sorry your going out of business, we can’t get to your site, and if we can its being throttled so bad that the lag is unplayable.

13. Sorry YouTube & Twitch, we can’t use you site anymore, its so laggy that its unusable, and now they want to charge us a fee to use it.

14. Sorry to everyone, you are now censored! You will see what we want you to, you will watch what we want you to. You will Think the way we want you to. You will pay your fees and you will still only watch and do what we want you to. You will be controlled! NOW! Go back to your corner like a good little tax paying drone and eat your cardboard!

We could go on and on… But This will affect everyone’s life, it could even make the economy crash and the stock market to fall drastically. To many businesses depend on the internet to survive, and most of them are not going to be able to afford a fee just to get internet traffic. And If they can’t afford it there out of business. And All the support businesses with them. This mean jobs lost, Services gone. If you have a service provider for your home internet and one for your phone internet you will be Charged twice if you want to access to the same service on both devices. This will devastate any business that does business on the internet. I don’t Think people understand just how much this will affect them until the day they try and access Facebook, YouTube, or twitter, and see that they are blocked without paying a fee. Then they will pay attention but by then it will be to late! And once we lost it. It will impossible to get back.

If this happens, Sons of Liberty basically becomes reality.

I am going to remind all you retards of your hysteria for years to come.

>If this happens,
there is no "if".
it is happening, period.
a done deal & nothing you can do will stop it.

yeah it could cuase a few issues for everybody

it's your dime, sport

...

op here that is all im saying on it

It's your hat

Lol.

You're so sure,
but it's not gonna happen.

Stupid nigger.

good, because you're mentally ill

...

Let's start a GoFundMe page so we can pay off the senators and congressmen who decide on this!

this

The paranoiacs haven't thought through how stupid their theory is.
>They will take away our internet and we will lose all we love about it and it will cost a fortune to do anything
This will happen, and consumers won't balk, and pols won't do anything. They'll all just take it. An example of that complacency happening is (does not exist).

It's an executive branch decision, the same way it was when it was passed as a rule two years ago.

then the funds go to the executive branch to not repeat NN!

...

Save your money. Deregulation makes things cheaper. The kind of bundling where you have to pay for tons of shit you don't want or use actually drives costs up. It's what broke cable.

>senators and congressmen
they are not involved at all.
it is the fcc & only the fcc.
it's regulatory not legislative.
they are rescinding the regulations.

the thing that drives me completely nuts about this "discussion" is that 90% of the idiots, both pro & con, have less than no idea what NN is...., & is not...., much less the implications either way.

last i checked, the ISP's are doing fine finacially

They're destroying the national parks and archaeological sites, they're moving to privatize indian lands to put in the hands of oil companies, they're dismantling two centuries of environmental effort and money spent by millions of people to safeguard the country for all its people, in order that a handful of them make an additional profit and at a cost of trashing it for everyone else today and into the future.

Doing this to the internet is a short term, easily reversible smash & grab that won't last long, versus all the permanent damage they're actually doing, physically, to the country itself.

As are Youtube and Facebook and Netflix.

So, can one of you guys who dislike net neutrality explain this shit to me:

Why is it you're so against the government passing regulations that say "you're not allowed to give preference to one type of Data or another"? This doesn't seem like a case of the government regulating what people view on the internet, but instead regulating what large corporations charge users and content providers on that internet. Seems like its intent is to limit corporate greed and it seems like it keeps internet users safe from ISPs using predatory tactics to squeeze more money from consumers. See: the entire video games industry.

Why is regulating greed a bad thing?

>Deregulation makes things cheaper.
"free market" libertardian detected.
go back to your fantasy book about atlas shrugging.

In which case Internet users' interests in getting wherever the fuck they want to get to without asking their ISP for permission should prevail, no?

Probably my favorite moment of 2017 was when Trump greenlit Dakota Access and the news was nearly lost in the hysteria of the Pussy Hat march. Liberals are so fucking stupid. They never focus on what actually matters, only on what gives them moral exhibitionism points.

I reject the idea that businesses are greedy for trying to make money.
I also reject the idea that government regulation has ever lowered the price of anything.

Bingo. That's why they all need to be shot or forced into the GOP where they belong.

Not sure what your point is. Did your ISP keep you from going to Youtube prior to 2015?

>muh feels
Kill yourself, neoliberal.

dont be changing the subject

No, because the technology didn't exist to allow them to do so economically.
Now it does.
Haven't you heard of progress?

Your label is rejected, and as for your sentiment that I should die for not wanting bureaucratic oversight of every human endeavor, that's what Stalinists always say.

No just healthier nets

>he doesn't know about Comcast breaking torrent connections as early as ten years ago
Are you going to keep playing dumb or should you just shoot yourself in the head for being a jewish shill?
whynotboth.jpg

...

Deregulation is the fastest way back to the conditions that caused the regulations to be put into effect in the first place. If you're so fucking ignorant of your own cultures history that you don't know why regulations exist, and you choose to undo them and see what happens, then you deserve the destabilization and chaos and costly process of reregulation you get.

If your country goes to the goddamn moon, but fails to educate its children and they elect a disasterous fucking moron who trashes the place then you deserve the civil war you clearly need at that point.

Wait, you think the internet is so different now than in 2015 that the ISPs are just primed to destroy it and ruin everyone's experience of it, because that is their business model, to make customers want to switch ISPs. Mkay. I don't have the same childlike faith in government you do.

...

I reject your right to breathe. Start choking, nigger.

Yep. Sex sells. All the shit that's going on, and what's on the news, sex scandals. Fuckin idiots.

>defends the profits of Zuckerberg
>accuses others of being jewish shills
kek
Anyway, do tell me, what happened to Comcast when they tried that? One of you retards think the technology to do so is new. It isn't. So what happened to them? Was it perhaps the FTC that shut that shit down? Yes, I think it was.

But they are...again, see what happened with the entire video games industry. They've decided to stop providing quality content and instead spend all their time trying to wring all the money out of gamers. Trying to make money is fine, trying to make all the money is less fine.

The government's "regulation" boils down to classifying the internet as a utility like landline telephones. I don't understand how or why that would drive the price up. I'm not buying "It just does, trust me". Why would a corporation lower their costs when they instead can raise them? Why would any money-making entity choose to be altruistic?

Name an industry where regulation didn't drive cost up and innovation down, and name one where deregulation didn't reduce prices for the consumer.
Protip: you can't.

Ah, babby is skerred his shota porn will go away

Jesús fucking hate that poo in loo guy

apples and oranges

Name one industry where deregulation brought prices down for the consumer and didn't just result in better margins at a deferred cost to the public.

ProTip: you can't.
Your ideology is not congruent with reality.

or throttling the shit out of netflix until netflix paid what was essentially a "ransom", which resulted in netflix raising their monthly fee to consumers in order to cover it.
there are many more examples involving almost all of the isp's.

the net was always "neutral" (theoretically), but the shady bullshit that the isp's started pulling was what prompted putting the 2015 regulations in place.
most of the "anti's" don't know any history prior to 2015 & don't really know what NN actually is.

Trumptards hate taxes but love giving money to corporations. At least with taxes you see a return in an overall healthier society.

No, you useless fucking dipshit, I think the technology required to implement fine-grained traffic shaping didn't exist in a deployable form two years ago. Thanks to Moore's Law, now it does.
Are you sure you're even qualified to comment on this topic?
>childlike faith in government
Not at all. In fact I would rather have the entire ruling class and their courtiers put to death, including Wall Street.
I simply don't have the childlike faith in the market and those who happen to occupy privileged positions within it that you do.

>innovation
Who needs innovation? ISPs need to be dumb pipes. They need to shut the fuck up and move the data where I tell them to move it. They literally need to be a commodity. The Post Office should literally step in and provide internet service and put all these jews out of business.

>implying that probabilistic RST injection is the same thing as a customer-specific packet filter
Stop trolling, shill.

>switch ISPs
having the delusion that this is even possible in most regions of the usa.

Most of the "antis" are either trolls or paid operators using the same circular set of talking points every fucking day. Could be both, actually. I wouldn't put it past hiroshimoot to hire trolls to drive traffic.

Or when Dakota leaked

Not really. Large ubiquitous companies with constant growth are constantly trying to squeeze more and more out of consumers for the sake of more and more profits. I mean, look at Canada, which does not have any net neutrality rules in place. Their ISPs charge way more than we pay for slower internet with data caps. There are real life examples of ISPs in other countries going out of their way to screw the consumer. I'm not sure why you think this is so far fetched.

>I think the technology required to implement fine-grained traffic shaping didn't exist in a deployable form two years ago.
Deep packet inspection has existed at the ISP level since at least 2006

>inspection
>filtering
Do you understand the difference between a man-on-the-side forging a RST packet and a man-in-the-middle bandwidth throttling against a list?
You really are unqualified to speak to this topic.

>using the same circular set of talking points
Yep.
It is the classic deflect & distract with nonsense tactic.
For example...., it is actually a documented tactic suggested & taught by the Evangelicals in their literature to their sheeple for them to use when arguing the whole Creationist/Evolution thing.

Such as:
"We know the Earth was created 4000 years ago & evolution is a fraud because people lived & played with the dinosaurs."
"We have proof because both dinosaur bones & human bones have been found in Europe."
"Prove us wrong."

Then they sit back & watch you try to "prove" your way out of that totally made up set of convoluted "facts".
It's actually quite effective.
And infuriating.

...

Post your CCIE then faggot
Oh you better work for CACI too or you're unqualified to discern this topic

Op... I tried to support net neutrality a few days ago but Sup Forumsnshut me down and called me a libtard and random....well it's hard to get a point across in Sup Forums

hunh.

especially with Sup Forums not staying in its containment board
I kinda hope 4ch does get shut down just to be rid of Sup Forums.

You first, nigger.

I live in Sweden. We've never had net neutrality, yet we've got some of the world's best ISP:s.

No, im not he one whos only play remark is U R UNKOALOAFYED SO U DUN NU SHIT BOAT DIS
Thats all your argument revolves around.

Post your CCIE R&S faggot

yeah and 1 GB/s download speed is $40/month. no slowdowns or any of the stuff people are warning about

stop being a nigger first and explain to me how forging packets is equivalent to traffic shaping in resource usage. I don't need a CCIE for that. Complexity theory handles it perfectly well.
YOU are the one making the stupid claim that these are equivalent.

That's because swedes aren't fake jews.

that's because you didn't need it thanks to your existing laws/regs.
here in the usa it's a different story.
companies are allowed & even encouraged to raw-rape people to the max until some sort of regulation is put in place.
then they bitch & whine & brainwash the populace that it's "bad for consumers" until the regulation is removed.
lather...., rinse...., repeat.

Pretty much my argument.

"Foot meet bullet" - Big Business

I will cancel my internet before the contract is up. Didn't agree to extra fees. fuck them.

That's not true, per se. There's absolutely nothing limiting a Swedish ISP from slowing down whatever website they want or request payment for faster speeds. However, the competitive market makes this impossible to get away with. The net neutrality debate has been pretty heated in this part of the world as well, with Swedes suddenly believing we need it. Well, the fact of the matter is, we don't. I really don't see why you would need it, either. Just kind of seems like mindless fear-mongering.

>However, the competitive market makes this impossible to get away with.
Assuming that article of faith is indeed true, that ended here in 2005 when ISPs were no longer guaranteed access to taxpayer-subsidized Bell System wire.

>However, the competitive market makes this impossible to get away with.
that's the real problem here in the usa.
in most areas there is NO competitive (or "free") market.
i live in a major metropolitan area of a tech-heavy regions & my "choices" for an isp are: comcast, comcast or comcast.
i am not alone...., this is the rule in the usa, not the exception.
the Sup Forumsshills know this but use that "muh free market" bullshit talking point to deflect for their corporate masters.

Guys just make a spoopy youtube video with a guy fawks mask

okay you made me kek.
dammit.

Paint offensive words on the FCC building with a guy fawks mask

zdnet.com/article/there-is-no-net-neutrality-the-fcc-changes-arent-what-you-think/

I'm glad autism isn't contagious

*Fawkes

I was only pretending to be retarded

kek, updated to negate about half of what he was shilling for in the first place

i assume you actually read that entire article.
especially the part where the original author updated/corrected it & basically says:
"oops, sorry...., my original article was completely wrong & the new proposed change ACTUALLY IS totally fucked up & we're all screwed."
did you read that part or just the catchy original headline??

i know right???
zdnet is a corporate shill site to begin with by reputation but the truth turned out to be so bad he had to go back & say:
"oh shit, my bad. this actually sucks for everybody."

just get a VPN

Assuming those haven't been blocked just like any other service could be.

>i don't understand net neutrality.
not how it works dumbass.

its just a game of cat and mouse
you get a VPN to get a VPN to get a VPN to get a... and so on until the eventually fuck up and then your screwed, but itll work
