Since I suppose op meant ^2 at the end of the equation I got that y=4 169=(3y+1)^2 square root of all 13=3y+1 -1 to both sides 12=3y divide both sides by 3 4=y y=4
Think you meant to type ^2 because it equals exactly 4...
