Hey Sup Forums, sheltered rich kid here, I want to know what the public education system is like where you guys are.

I've heard the one in America isn't so great.

Speaking as a product of it yeah it's pretty garbo.

Depends on the school district. You want one with as few negroes as possible.

No child left behind

I've heard people talk about that before (I'm not american) Is that some kind of gifted program?

How are class sizes? Do racial demographics really change things that much? There were a bunch of Iranians and Asians in my school and it didn't seem bad at all.

When I was a kid it was pretty good. That was the 90s. I had shop classes, art, music, pottery, home economics, cooking... Learned all of life's essentials.

Nowadays they have nothing left. They're trying to stop core math and science in place of "friendly math" and religion. History is no longer the gritty reality that it was, rather friendly stories about how America could do no wrong. Hands are held and you win awards for showing up. Worst of all, it use to be that a teacher could call you out on your ignorance and help you succeed. Now if they do that, libtards blow up and the teacher can lose their job.

Tldr - kids have grown soft and the education system is in part to blame

Nclb is a thing Bush did.

He lowered the standards of graduation because niggers and spics couldn't pass. By doing this, kids are being dumbed down.

Instead of helping the failures, he drug everyone down to their level

Yeah the high school i recently graduated from had a 5 point grading scale and D's were a passing grade

This sounds awful. Won't that just turn all the children into docile subservient and uneducated... ok I understand their endgame now.

I hope the private institutions of america can still put out enough people to run the county and industry. I hope you get a government with the will to fix this before it is too late for America.

Isn't the point of education to train children to be the thinkers and leaders of tomorrow and think creatively to solve problems?

Private schools are kind of shit on in america

The private system is too expensive for non-rich Americans. Even upper middle class can't always afford it.

The goal is to dumb us down and lie to us.

Jokes on them. By dumbing us down they created the libtards and tumblrinas and they banded together.

An army of retards is still an army.

>Socialist here. Not liberal. I have some Republican values still such as believing in the draft, a strong military, 2nd amendment, and that this transgender thing is bullshit

Nope, the point of the education system in America is to teach the youth of the country how to follow and abide by set rules to work for others for your entire existence.

every school actually has all of those things listed, how would u even know what school is like if ur not a student or a teacher. tard

Merica's public system tells you when to eat, when to think, when to speak, and what to think about. Shit was created to tailor young folks into working in factories when they turn 18 if they didn't go directly to college afterwards and hasn't been updated since the collapse of the factory industry.

I thought america was the land of capitalism, why does some enterprising company not step in to disrupt education and charge reasonable prices?

It seems like a lucrative market for upper middle class people who want their kids to not be brainwashed and can't afford a private tutor.

Means that you have retarded students, many may pass through the system, and finish with a degree, even at a truncated education level.

I'm on the west coast. Classes were always a melting pot growing up, with (I know, shocking) white kids being the minority.

Education here in America is being capitalized on. Only they wait until you're 18 and want to pursue a degree, that's when the real rape happens.
As for a reasonable priced private school for K-12, that probably won't happen because these companies figure the only people who really are interested in better than public schooling would be willing to shell out the few extra grand.

So American graduation rates are faked?

I remember hearing warnings from businessmen here to avoid hiring americans without degrees from Ivy league or equivalent schools because education quality even in higher education was much lower than Canada.

I'm west coast too (Canada), was it just that our melting pot didn't include blacks?
Interesting. I smell and opportunity. My boyfriend and I were looking for a niche to run a startup in anyways and that seems like something for sure...

I'm betting there is some government regulation set up to favour incumbents as well, america seems to like that.

Works great in the middle of a grand old war, not so much when you're just dropping moabs on cave systems.

No no, they're real, just......changed... And yeah there was always a handful of everything conceivable in genetic code. What kinda plans you got?

Honestly I'm looking at the best way of providing a low cost rigorous education that can prepare kids for the modern world. I'm thinking that by leveraging technology it might be possible to have teachers produce better individualized teaching outcomes.

Basically profiling each student behaviourally and based on how they learn and having a program work with the teacher to create a learning plan.

Heck, maybe it could be applied to public schools... not sure if it would solve the nigger problem though, so glad there aren't any here.

Germany
Asides from the face that we are being forced to learn alot of shit only a few people will actually use, it is pretty good

I remember reading you guys had to pick a career stream in middle school, is that true?

In Finland we go to preschool at age of 6, where we learn some rhythmic songs and riddles.

The year we turn 7 is when we start going to school. It starts by learning the ABC, then other subjects slowly came in to the schedule.
We start studying english around third grade and by fourth grade you can decide whether you want to start learning swedish or not.
Once 6th grade is almost over we get to choose into which "high school" we want to enter (only grades 7th-9th), most of kids go to the one that's closest.

After 9th grade we go to either gymnasium or vocational school and it is basically free as well, although you have to pay for the books and nowadays a laptop is required for gymnasium students.
If you come from poor background, our social welfare services will pay most of the books, a graphic calculator and a laptop (maxium of 300 euros). The books are fucking expensive, if bought as new they cost around 25-39 euros, some books more. So saying you need 5-6 books per a period in gymnasium means you need around 80-200 euros money for them.

School lunch is free, most of the class trips are free. We have health check-ups every year in every grade and beyond that.

Majority of kids finishing elementary school go to either vocational or gymnasium. Basically nowadays no-one stops school after they're done with compulsory elementary school. There are no jobs for those, maybe cleaning and such and with a good luck you might be able to pitch a permanent job as a store clerk and so on.

There are some apprenticeships available, but not enough, so getting a diploma by apprenticeship is not that common.

After gymnasium/vocational you can apply into university of polytechnic and generally getting into uni without taking matriculation exam is quite rare, but still possible.

You don't do much with the gymnasium degree, except that it is generally very valued (obviously the level of education is good for common knowledge)

The funding for universities has been cut down by the last two goverments and it is quite flammable subject right now here, as they've cut from public schooling and hereby causeing rise in unequality - the fear is that they will privatize the formerly glorius public sectors)

Once you're an abiturient in gymnasium you can enter matriculation exam. You get graded for it in an old-fashioned fancy way which gives you points depending on the grades you got from the exam, for the universities.

well kinda
after finishing 4th grade, we can choose a school depending on our grades

>middle school - the worst of all, no requirements

>secondary modern school - the middleground, a school divided into different "brances" if you will, mostly them being maths, art, nutrition and cooking, economic and french, requirement: average grade of 4 I think (thats like a C-)

>grammar school, most elitary school, most difficult and also the most common way to reach your A-level, focus on either science or languages, requirement: average grade of 2,32 (thats like a B)

there are also other ways to reach your A-level though, meaning that even if you only make it to middle school, you can still reach your A-level by going to a professional school

the good thing is that no matter how bad your grades are in elementary school you still can reach your A-level. Everyone can eventually go to uni if so desired or just do an apprenticeship for your desired job

Nice info

Studying in university is free of charge for Finns and northerners.

But a part of student welfare requires you to get a loan which is 50% of the welfare. Like 200 euros max from the goverment, 200 euros from the bank and then rental help varying from 100-500 euros, depending on where you live and how expensive the apartment is. Social services pay for the leftover, it is stated by law that the min amount of money an invidual should have after compulsory bills (electricity, rent) is around 480 euros (for food, hygieny products), so if you do not get enough from the student welfare part, you will get the rest from social welfare.

Pardon me for my typos, used to think I'm superb in english but obviously I should try to catch up with some fancier words and so on.

From the little old city of Yakima WA.

Most people haven't heard of it since it's only like 80k populace.

Nigga we get crime rates near Detroit levels, look that shit up.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that by grade 7 swedish will become compulsory.

another benefit is that if you are not diligent enough or have health issues or whatever makes you have bad grades you can degrade in schools to fit the effort/education level you are able to bring and receive

I for an example used to attend to a grammar school, but due to mental issues, a PTSD and sleeping disorders I could not keep up, so I got degraded to the secondary modern school, where I got my graduation with ease whilst fixing my sleep and mental health in my free time

Now that I am alright I am attending to a professional school in the social branch striving for a decent A-level and hopefully a spot at the uni for psychology

Point is, good luck not getting stabbed going to Home Economics.

Natives?

Uuuuhhh... not really, they live on the outskirts of the valley. I'd say it's Hispanics, but 80% of the city is mexican, most of my friends are Mexican. I think it's mostly poor people rather than *just* poor mexicans.

Wait wait wait, mexicans in washington?

What the fuck happened down there? I went there a lot as a child and never saw any.

Just how many spics do you guys have?

I went to a "public" school that had 130 IQ min. requirement for enrollment. Even then, the school was still garbage. You'd end up with students that knew more than the teachers...

Yakima has the largest hop fields in the western hemisphere, that beer you drink, if it's american came from Washington beaners. Also we provide like the most apples anywhere.

Every time I see some one quote their IQ, I giggle. Fucking autists lol.

>The pacific northwest is crawling in mexicans, blacks, and indians now
Something is very wrong in the world.

*whoops meant visited not went lol

What makes you think you're rich?

I'm cool with it. Latina chicks do a fuck ton of chores. Wish black chicks were into me, and Indian girls are easy for white dudes.

White women are fucking annoying, entitled and whores.

Source: Slept with all at least once, divorced a white chick.

Probably the monetary value/assets his parents own? What kind of stupid fucking question is that?

This user is right.

My parents own some real estate in Vancouver, I'm an engineer, and have some other assets of my own.

>Indian
>divorced white
>you set the wrong one free

Its not so much the kids "growing soft" because there is still a large amount of high achievers in every school. It is more about the fact that the kids that don't want to work get all the attention from staff and that leaves the ones who want to achieve with minimal teacher interaction.

You get cucked. I ain't into that shit. Kicked the bitch out of the house within 2 hours.

Been there, done that. Too late for me
