well i've now seen it..i can avoid it

compilations aren't real albums you turbo-pleb

many of Three 6 Mafia albums and mixtapes are basically compilations

The greatest rap album is definiltly memphis rap, but maybe not this one

talk about it why is memphis rap the greatest rap above all others

>Rollingstone 500 greatest albums
>5 compilations in top 50

rollingstone.com/music/lists/500-greatest-albums-of-all-time-20120531/little-richard-heres-little-richard-20120531

cus its more hardcore and raw and i like the ignorancy of it you feel me? memphis in the 90s was a fucked up place . now talkabout why my opinion is better than yours.

i actually think it's pretty smart instead of ignorant

i mean i didnt mean racist in an ignorant way, i enjoy the murder and dark lyrics you know

why do you think its smart

Cause I'm an edgy kid
Plus I like the sense of authenticity

"Memphis rap" just makes me think of Elvis rapping

bump

Kek

I think for what they were doing at the time, just their music was a huge stretch. Keep in mind they were teenagers. How do teenagers come up with this stuff? Plus, the lyrics are creative. I wouldn't call them ignorant, I would say they are imaginative as well as immersive in local memphis life.

And dont even get started on the flows. Koopsta, Lord's, Juicy's are all carefully constructed

was memphis really as evil as they describe it?

If ya ain onnn that shit my nigga

slap a punk bitch, slap a punk bitch

bump

i dont remember the details but my friend told me the crime rates were through the roof and there was hella drug raids and just fucked up in general, like the whole city was corrupt as shit, with low employment rates etc. Like keep in mind koopsta grew up in foster care and was 15 years old reading the satanic bible. There's a reason why the whole music scene is dark as shit even outside of triple six mafia
Yeah I meant ignorant in the sense that a tryhard music critic would use, I totally agree with you

>I don't want no money, all I need is one of these nigga's cars
>"TOMMY LOOK OUT!"
>*BANG*
>I shot the damn security guard
Memphis had some of the most entertaining hip hop around

Yeah its even crazier cause tommy was an actual kingpin and a real pimp. Have you seen his ham on everything interview?

Anyone else think Juicy J has the best flow in Three Six Mafia?

No, but I'll check that out. I don't know much about the guy himself.

Nah that goes for lord infamous and koopsta, but only on the three six mafia tapes for some reason lol, theyre not as good on their solo tapes. juicy js flows are fucking sick though dude. His verse on tear da club up is perfect desu

This is actually a really good thread

Also pleasently surprised that old memphis rap is almost always appreciated here when there's a thread about it

How did Bone Thugs ever recover?

dj paul was the weakest rapper in the group desu.

the power of a bump

Still slaps thoe faggot boi

get on the iceberg black train while you still can

I'll give you Infamous, but I never really liked Koopsta. Idk why. But Juicy J was always my favorite to listen to.
>Body Parts 1
>Body Parts 3
>Who da Buckest
It's a lot more verses I love from him but those are the only ones I can think of right now

this shit is too bad quality sound

plus have you seen one of his so called bitches princess loko? Can't believe you could actually make money off a hippo like this back in the day with niggas who was willing to pay

crunchy....?

Juicy J is like, restrained in the best way. He's really good about dropping the right shit at the right time rather than being all over the place like lord and koop.

This also plays perfectly in his aggressive short phrased verse on Walk up to Yo House. It's so angry

>implying crunchy didn't have the hardest hitting lyrics with impeccable wordplay

idk man crunchy gives that raw crackhead energy you know

can't imagine what it was like to grow up in that, young and have your own crew of satanic rappers. Making good shit at such a young age, being loved in your city, going from couch to party to couch. Living in a highly murderous hood with crazy bitches and getting to act as savage as you want.

Was probably so much fun.

Paul actually kinda describes it here youtube.com/watch?v=pktLSKhhlTw

true just dont shit on paul. He tells stories of getting out of murderous situations with a grin on his face, and often is the only one in the group who paints pictures of memphis

Goddamn the beats on this album absolutely slap

You are right.

>featuring Juicy "Low Down" J.........

Low down is like a dirty thieving nigga you can't trust. Down low is the term for undercover gay.

Bitch I'll fuck you up

stfu I'll beat you up
