Mike Watt is basically Flea but better and before him

BUT IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE

If there was ever a bassist who was taken too soon, Scott LaFaro.

Best / Underated

He rips on electric, but still swings hard and lays it down for straight ahead jazz. He tears up the upright as well. A true god among bassists

He's crazy underrated honestly

Everyone rates Andy

He came to my college once to deliver a clinic. I was given the wrong room number and ended up on the wrong floor looking for the room. As I'm walking around I see him walking looking confused. I figured out where the clinic was and took him. He is not all there in the head. He plays fantastically though, it's like a perfect snapshot of grade a jazz bass playing from the 60s. Not a huge fan of his more avant garde stuff tho.

John Wetton

Yes! The mini solo in Maxwell Murder is so good

Absolutely

Not really, every punk kid calls him the best bass player of all time

A woman's work is Trevor Dunn.

Paul fucking McCartney

John Entwistle desu

Tracy Pew wasn't the greatest bass player but the man had the stage presence of a God. The Birthday Party would not have been what they were without him.

Vern from Unwound
