Ask a drunk D and D 5e DM anything.
I know that ama threads are cancer but fuck it
Ask a drunk D and D 5e DM anything
Mind if i put on mh wizards hat?
What version?
5th Edition
Is it worth getting into it?
Where do you find friends to play with user, I don't have any.
As a DM or as a player?
Anywhere and everywhere. Ive grabbed groups off of reddit, made posts on imgur. You dont have to play in person in the digital age
Best campaign you've run?
Why is Pathfinder better and why aren't you playing it right now?
Dubs checked,
I only run homebrews because im more comfortable with my thoughts than a book.
As a player I guess. I only have one bro to play board games so I was wondering if D and D works for two people.
how do people play this shit for 8 hours once a week?
Pathfinder is better because its more in-depth I would not recommend anyone start with Pathfinder and you know that
It can but its very tough to do. You want a min of 3 players and a DM
Must sessions are 2 to 4 hours... and i take it youve never played new friend
Sry i miss ya, no. I do not. Please use tin foil
So what was your best homebrew, then? C'mon, I need ideas.
I have. I was ready to hang myself after the first 2 or so hours. boring as shit
It's really dependent on the DM to put forth a campaign that players can get into. Session 0s are a huge must and i find thst most players dont even know what that means. And that's not their fault that's on their DM
I steal heavily from obscure RPGs. Like Dragon Force on Sega Saturn or Lunar from PlayStation and sega cd. There is obviously something in your life that you love and nobody else has heard of I would recommend basing it off that which gives you the knowledge in the background right off the bat so it makes it a lot less work and more of a labor of love
This is the reply, sorry
idk the DM I played with has aspergers so i'm sure it was fine.
Bruinsfan0828 on KIK if you wanna reach me personally
You.... i like you
What is your favourite monster and why
I'm a huge fan of the standard mimic even at higher levels just because of all the different things that can be from a torch to a treasure chest to a statue really keeps your players on their toes
Have you ever done an evil campaign. If so how did it go
how many hit points does your anus have?
2nd edition AD&D is always the the best!!!
It was a disaster for the players because it was a good campaign and they kept slowly losing the faith I guess you could say. To the point where they slaughtered multiple guards, soldiers and literally had armies looking for them they put up a good fight and at one point they knew it was going to be the path of no return but but there is still a monument Bosak for the heroes that lost their lives fighting against the mercenary band To The Hilt
That will always be the golden age
How often do you come up for air while drowning in all that moist tang?
Not many, it bleeds a lot
Im actually running a group right now that is 6 women and 1 guys, a friend of mine. We had session 0, ill let you know how session 1 on next Saturday goes
5e is a fucking embarrassment to everything the game represents!
How do you feel about the insulting nerf of bards specifically?
It depend on what edition you come from. 3.5 seems to think that 4 never happen, and 4 seems to think that no one could ever do better. I feel like bards as casters in 5e are very well equiped especially if you go school of lore
I still run stuff every week, i run 2nd rules, but i have incorperated stuff from all editons , ive also played for over 20 years so ive created whole planes, ran and then reworked every boxed campaign, i had a group every deployment even, this games been a major part of my life, just thought id share
3.5 DnD. Friends turned me onto Pathfinder, and I loved it. It took some effort to adjust and be competent with the system (I'm legit slow) but I absolutely loved PF.
Dubs dubs.i can appreciated that. The whole point of the game is the make something that everybody enjoys and feels is fun 2nd edition did a really good job at that for people who could comprehend it fortunately for new players 5e is a good stepping stone towards a harder difficulty
Dubs dubs
You can kind of tell where people come from. I'm glad that you found a game like Pathfinder I enjoyed it the one time I played but I have more of a casual friend base so I needed something that could represent that
So op here,
I'm going to drop out of the thread,
Thank you for your time
If you have any question you really wanna ask me once again on KiK

May Grog bless you
I hate when my group constantly changes the game we play, I seem to have an expectation of long term investment that none of them share.
I want to learn the rules to be good- and it's fucking hard for me. It's even harder when we play a game up to like level 7, end it, throw the books away (not literally but I'm bitching lol) and we play some new shit. I have to start all over, and I JUST got to a point where I don't have to ask the DM every three seconds "what do I roll again?"
I recommend talking to the players and the DM about it. A lot of people just kind of roll with the punches. You would be surprised how many players and d m's are receptive to people who want to continue something
I had one dm who was good about listening to me, but some bullshit drama with one attention starved bitch and I'm kicked out of that group.
Sounds like he wasnt that good of a dm
