What guitars am I missing tone-wise? I'm thinking about getting a 12-string Rickenbacker right now and I'm mainly interested in electric tones. After the Rick I think maybe I'm just missing a good Telecaster and a big hollowbody w/ a neck humbucker for darker electric tones for jazz? Possibly a Precision Bass as well?
What are the "must have" guitars when it comes to a well rounded guitar arsenal that's "ready for anything" while recording? What do you need to have all bases covered?

I'd love to get an LTD someday because they have some pretty sweet models but I wouldn't get an ESP if my life depended on it, they're overpriced as fucking shit. It's not even a Squier - Fender situation, I don't doubt there's a quality difference between ESP and LTD but I'm sure as hell it's not a $2000+ difference, especially if you get an $800 LTD instead of one of the really cheap ones.

Could be that a fret got unseated and knocked upward. Use a straight edge to see if there's a locally high fret. Could be that, could be something on the bridge end of things.

Yeah no problem. Fucked up frets was what ended up getting me into doing my own fretwork, now I'm learning to solder. Basically anything you pay a tech for you can learn to do yourself with not too much effort and a bit of cash into some tools. Then it's major savings on that bs from then on, and you can get your shit tweaked exactly how you like it for free, with no wait/turnaround. Best of luck getting it worked out. And I wouldn't be too mad either, it's cool to know there's still gonna be kids who are interested in string instruments in the future, hoping any future kids of mine will be the same

On closer inspection, it doesn't seem to have moved the fret at all but it looks like the fret has dented the E string quite obviously, so I'm going to chuck a new set of strings on before I go wild trying to fix the frets.
