Idk why, maybe it's the drugs but I had a flashback to what I considered the glory days of computers and pc gaming.. Back when the Pentium 4 was the king and people were still "hacking" their amd atholons 64s and melting them. Back in the good ol days of fy_iceworld.. Back before everything was rgd this and cable management.. Back when all you needed to be 1337 was a blue cold cathode light and a chrome fan grill.
Anyone else remember the glory days? Remember with me my bros
Robert Adams
I remember overclocking a pentium athlon 133 because they were cheap as hell and back then you didn't have software to do it. You had to manually change the jumpers directly on the motherboard. Shit was cool
Also check out this pic from a lan party I had back in the day

Back then the world seemed so much bigger and better

Lol remember how expensive cables used to be.. Cat5e was like 2 bucks a foot

One of our dads worked at a company that made software for industrial use so we "borrowed" a lot of cable and he actually provided the switch for us you see in the picture on the bar stool. Here's another one for shits

One last thing before this thread dies, I remember when RAM was $1 per MEGAbyte and we were like "holy shittttt its so cheapppppppp"

Lol I never go back to the old shooters cause I know what you mean.. I did that with unreal tournament so bad now. I still play c&c tiberian sun tho once and awhile... Rts games hold up over time cause they arnt about grafixs.. Shooters however are.
Noah Taylor
It's just sucks now days. I mean ya everything was better when your a kid but grafix are all just relative.. Member how amazing CS grafix were? And then the new game comes out and just raises the bar.. But noone at the time is ever unhappy with grafix as long as they are improved from the last big game. Bit gaming as a whole is changing now everyone is mobile and super impatient we live in a gota have it right now world so all complex games you can't get that instant kill on or play in a quick 15min single sitting are dying by the way side. Just look at the mmo market. That and cod every year gets more and more arcade like and faster pace, the faster the game the more little kids play it.

And member when trolling neckbeard cancer wasn't even a thing and the worst thing that could happen to you online was just talking to some creepy old dude in a aol chat room... Omg MEMBER AOL?

the golden day of pc gaming was probably the P2. a good balance of power and flexibility without being stupidly hard.
by the time you got to P4 it was 'buy a better video card and change a couple of bios settings to OC'
did love how cheap it was to stack up on ram with a p4 tho
Christian Miller
Back when disc drives were mandatory and game developers did it because they enjoyed it
Logan Nelson
And all the full version mods of games like seven coop, firearms and more
