Net neutrality is the latest scam in a long list of scams.

In a few months you’ll completely forget about this and none of the bad things you were worried about will happen.

Enjoy your freedom 'murica!

Calm the fuck down.

That's what you said about Drumpf lol. Everyone is watching the world burn. Sadly, I'm one of the smart ones that has to burn with it.

lost.
oh this is not a ylyl thread

>Something that came into effect under the Obama administration, if removed, will turn the internet into an awful hell hole.
Nigga please, 4chin was in its prime before obonog.

Yes, we're returning to the dark ages of the internet. You know, pre-2015. Dark times.

Title II (aka Net Neutrality) doesn't do any of the shit you think it does, by the way. It was basically SOPA rewritten with a nice, non-scary sounding name.

I don't give a fuck because I'm not in the US. But my guess is you could probably circumvent that problem with a VPN.

arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2017/11/comcast-quietly-drops-promise-not-to-charge-tolls-for-internet-fast-lanes/

>Title II (aka Net Neutrality)
You are aware that net neutrally is what's going to be taken away of US people? You WANT net neutrality.

which service providers are going along with this?

After we get the power back, we're gonna cruxify those responsible as a warning to all those in the future who play with it.

FUCK 4GAY

World Wide ISPs will follow as they will follow the american system. I'm sure my ISP in my thirdworld shithole will follow in 2 years or so.

You're aware it's not Net Neutrality anymore than ACA is "Affordable Healthcare", right? You can call a bill whatever you want regardless of the contents. Read the damn thing, there's nothing about NN in there. You don't want Title II, it's literally SOPA.

No we don't, faggot. I want your taut, lubed up boipucci rotating counterclockwise on my quivering wiener. Right NOW.

EU has net neutrality laws and that's all that matters.

No I'm not going to read about shit that doesn't concern me anyway.

>being this retarded

wew lad

It's amazing that what appears to be at least half of Sup Forums knows this, while literally every friend I have is all up-in-arms about the "loss" of something they didn't know they "had" and which does the opposite they think it does!
Bring ON the competition! No ISP that pisses off its customers will survive the new (old) free market.

"But monopoleze..." Existing anti-mono laws.
"But muh ulter-HD 4k NHuluFlix..." Works now, dunnit? And competition will make faster cheaper.
"But muh torrents..." VPN, faggot
"But muh pron..." VPN, faygut
"But I are SJW/troll/dissident..." Shut up. TheMan tracks you already.

And other internet service providers will have their arms wide open for all the money they will be getting from those that quit their current net neutral ISP.

They wont allow them selves to go broke, so no worries mate.

It was like back in the day when obama care was enacted and they said they you would be billed at the end of the year for not having health insurance.

No one ever billed me.

ice is already censoring the net, tards

Please stop with this dumb means of argument, it only serves to trivialize honest concerns of other people, and you never end up convincing anybody of anything. You just make other people mad.
Also, if anti-mono laws don't apply now, they won't apply after title 2 net neutrality rules are removed. With things going the way they are right now, it looks unlikely that new ISP's will be able to establish themselves at all right now, given what has been demonstrated by google's incredible difficulty in creating their own internet infrastructure, despite being the incredibly MASSIVE company they are. Furthermore, it does not appear that getting rid of net neutrality will serve to introduce any sort of competition, nor will the extra potential money ISP's make serve to improve future infrastructure, due to the fact that despite receiving money from the US federal government a long time ago in order to give the general populous gigabit fiber connections, nothing ever happened.

And why should it be the added burden to the general public to purchase a VPN service in order to simply access things they have already previously been able to access?

>Net neutrality is going to be killed in just over a day. Any last words Sup Forums ?

Fuck that dothead corporate scumwaffle and every other corporate faggot who want to turn the net into cable fucking television.

>other internet providers
What providers? Most people in the United States only have one choice of ISP. And considering how LARGE of a company Google is, and yet they can barely move into a few select cities, I don't think that there will be any reasonable amount of competition in the ISP market for many years to come.

If you don't take action you likely deserve what's coming for you. I don't need the World Wide Web anymore and I'm into subnetting, private networks, etc.

We're ruled by pigs

buy bitcoin :D

Time to go burn down some government buildings and comcast offices

I couldn't care less to be honest. I'd be happy if the internet as a hole was just taken down.

You dumb cunts. ISPs tried to do exactly those things in the years leading to up to 2015, that's what led to net neutrality.

>Title II
>of the Communications Act of 1934
>SOPA rewritten
Pls check timeline

>tfw Sup Forums is the only website you actively visit along with jewbook and torrent sites
>tfw you know nothing will replace this shitheap of a website

In the '90s under Bill Clinton the government made the decision to stay out of the internet and let it do it's thing. That worked pretty well until 2015. What changed in 2015, actually nothing but politics.

What happened to American freedom?
Don't any of you care? You say yes yet you lay there like brainwashed, fluoride contaminated, aluminium breathing zombies that just accept the government officials (that you vote in and can kick out any time) removing more and more of your freedoms.
Internet posting through Twitter, Facebook etc... doesn't work.
Petitions don't work.
Rallies don't work.
Protests don't work.
If.you want to keep and regain the freedom that our.forefathers worked and sacrificed so hard for, you have to take it back by force, no matter what the cost may be.
Stand up and leave your homes, forget about the jobs that we have been convinced that working as a slave is alright. Don't make the same mistakes as protesters... don't go after random vehicles to vandalize, don't break into random businesses to steal from, you must keep reminding yourselves or the goal. Break through the lineups of brainwashed police and go right after the rich, greedy, corrupt government officials who force us into slavery earning little to nothing while they increase taxes.
America no longer works, we the ancestors of the original colonists must know take back this country.

>What changed in 2015
a number of ISPs were throttling speeds is what

would using tor work instead/aswell?

holy shit how dense are you people. you know they're just going to ban tor, vpn's, bitcoin all that fancy shit

Would us/me using tor get around the issue of net neutrality?

So you get it before it's banned, right? How can sites tell the difference afterwards?

Thank God. This fucking website will finally go away. Good riddance to bad rubbish

>what changed in 2015
It's more about what's changed over the course of the 90's to 2015. Which is a shitload.
The potential of the internet had not yet been in any way realized in the 90s, and the future outlook and conditions of the internet have gone every which way since then. People were still using phone lines to connect to the internet in the 90s, and judges could still be convinced that by whistling into pay phones, talented people could dial into NORAD and launch nuclear missiles. Clinton made an educated decision with the information provided to him. Nothing is the same about the internet he saw, and what we have now.

TL;DR:The conditions have changed between the time Clinton was president, and now.

they can tell apart vpn/tor/bitcoin transaction traffic from other kinds of traffic

So if netflix comes out with streaming cable for $5 a month and accounts for 75% of internet traffic, fuck the isp's? That's why they were throttling.

>Net neutrality is the latest scam

This message is what the cable companies are paying tens of millions of dollars for.

No more trap threads, log threads, "u mad witboi" threads, no more cancer... It seems like bliss. Except I shudder to think what these faggots will do in actual society

>implying isp's don't make money off of netflix
>being this retarded

>being this delusional
Try not to shit yourself when you realize how wrong you are

ISPs now make money from netflix because isps slowed down content from netflix and forced them to pay. Under neutrality rules that may not have happened.

...

Goodbye americans. Was fun while it lasted.

I will see you on the next Sup Forums like site in Europe/Asia non americans!

Nobody said they didn't make money off of these services, but what ISP's are looking to do is make even MORE money off of these services without offering anything new. If they can simply throttle user connections unless they get paid more, they can make more money. Which is both incredibly greedy, and serves to only burden the general public for no reason.

If you're going to say anything, at least provide some sort of explanation to conclusions like this.

net neutrality laws are currently in effect and isp's are making money providing netflix to customers

>we're ruled by reptiles
Ftfy

You;re too fucking stupid to know how stupid you are. Trump has weaponized your stupidity. It's unbelievable and you're proud of being taken for a fool.

Fuck you.

I have an easy solution.

user needs to Dox the CEO's, investors, leaders, and decision makers of every major telecom company.
Family names, their kids schools, liscense plates, addresses, yachts, etc.

Keep it all secured and send out a general threat. If prices for unlimited net service are raised beyond inflation, all those private (but still legally attainable details) will be released to the angry public for any offending company.

Ok ok, so I read all these replies and cuz im from mexico im not fully awere of the net neutrality implications..
So all i care about and all i want to know is:

Will Sup Forums and Sup Forums be affected by this net neutrality deal?

Doesn't work because you still have to utilize their network to host your VPN on.

There is no way around this.

The deal allows companies unlimited control of your internet as long as they tell you what it is.

It would not shut down Sup Forums, but it might make it so in order to visit obscure non-commercial sites like Sup Forums, i have to buy the "unlimited gold add-on package" for $140 per month instead of "bare bones general" package of google, facebook, youtube, and streaming for only $20

How much would you guys thank me if I shot up an ISP office?

Would a mesh network work?

Will? Who knows. Can? Yes.
ISP's will have the option to throttle connections to and from Sup Forums, unless you or Sup Forums pays more, among other potential options. Whether or not ISP's choose to do any of this specifically to Sup Forums is another matter.

No, nothing fucking gets around this you dipshit.

Let's create our own ISP! I have 12M in the bank.

do it faggot

I will shoot up my school tomorrow, any questions?

Wouldn't that be slower? Mesh network the whole US?

The fucked up part is that this user is right.

The internet is fucking out of control the way it is now, because it is an ever-evolving monster.

The Law eventually made it to the wild west too kids. You didn't think this place was going to be unrestricted forever did you?

Nothing gold can stay...

>only 12 million
Google is having incredible difficulty in creating their own ISP. You think you can feasibly create a working company with only 12 million?

you are gonna need a ton more than 12M to create the infrastructure.

That's why this problem is BS, High speed internet is a utility. It is just as complicated to build and just as crucial.

Well...what if i went on other similar forums but on the deep web like "cebollaChan" think its "OnionChan" would that work? If not tell me the potential solutions to this situation, cos i love myself some Sup Forums, cant live without it...

I know, right?

Pretty sure that nigga don't know the difference between million and billion bruh

Only inside the US where you're using these companies infrastructure. Which basically means that internet traffic to/from servers might be effected, but sites like google, facebook and youtube aren't based in one location. So if anything was gonna be restricted for foeigners, sites like Sup Forums might be at risk if they're only hosted in the US.

I live in mexico(as ive said) do these regulations apply to my internet company? Or am i safe from the FCC pigs?

Get a load of Che Guevara over here.
This is now a cringe thread

ISP's could potentially listen in with software to monitor the nature of what you're sending/receiving and throttle certain types of traffic. And it would not be very difficult to find traffic pertaining to the TOR, or any other network similar to it, and throttle it, since the government has been doing that type of thing for a long time.

>safe
>Mexico

You tell me muchacho

Where I'm from, there is no competition. We have literally one ISP in the area. Right now they charge us $100 a month for like 1kbps. And half the time our internet connection is down entirely. Get rid of net neutrality and we'll be paying that, plus a fee for each site we visit. Bad idea.

The problem with this logic is that you think that the problem is in the FCC taking certain actions.
The problem is that from tomorrow on, they WONT take action.

This will more than likely set a president that follows within other countries, in which their local equivalents to the FCC will also not take action in the way the FCC has since (most notably) 2015.

Fucking bump

He says in vain . . .

Well thats a generalization, i live in the south where the zetas and narcos only come for a vacation in their expensive beach houses, so yes im safe, but am i safe from capitalism and the FCCs bullshit?

So now not having net neutrality means paying fees?

>1kbps
>100 a month

Are you in Rwanda or Kosovo or something?

>live in country the FCC can't touch
>mfw americucks losing muh freedums

Well im not worried about what im sending i just wanna not pay for reading all the fucked up Sup Forums shit

Great...You'll be the smartest cinder in the ash.

Well, doesn't the US control the Panama canal?

That's pretty close to south Mexico isn't it?

I think proximity = danger?

Dumbass, I literally outlined why this shit will affect you here what I outlined in that post is saying that they will be able to slow down or block traffic irrespective of whether or not you use TOR or anything similar. Perhaps I should have just said that outright, instead of explaining HOW they would do it.

most countries tend to copy whatever the fuck american goverment does, so i wouldn't be so smug if i were you

>Trump has weaponized your stupidity.
Kek, so dramatic!

You're implying my country likes your country. Why would we follow people we don't like?

Cool your jets, junior.

there are so many examples to the contrary of this...

Apparently you don't understand networking man

Well then perhaps your country likes another country that DOES like the United states. Either way this sort of thing will still get back to you.

EVEN IF your country doesn't do the same thing that the US does, if a large proportion of governments don't enforce NN, you still get affected due to the fact that your connections to websites (such as this one) will get throttled in other countries, since they are probably not locally hosted wherever you live.
