bump this is important
which is the beter album. i think it's loveless but not sure
which one is more gangsta?
spiderland probably if you had to pick
slint
Spiderland is better than that overglorified ad for vacuum cleaners.
loveless > spiderland
not even close
very compellin arguments fom bot sidesihaveto admit
I perfer spiderland
Laughing Stock
Shitty comparison but obviously Spiderland
yeah that's also what i think on a certain level. but on another I also think Loveless is better, you know? i just cant' decide........
one of the albums gives me one kind of feels, but the other gives me another kind, and i don't know which one makes me FEEL MORE.... but i have to figure it out
HELP
One Last Try
Anyone that says Loveless over Spiderland is lying.
whatever choice is the contrarian choice, obviously
i don't think either one is obviously contrarian though (though spiderland seems more popular here), that's why i made the thread
Loveless is more important
Both. I actually feel like they complement each other in a way. Both can be said to be depressive, just that one is on rock bottom, and the other is a form of disillusioned depression.
Few good tracks, rest is trash, literally worse than Machina (And I liked Machina)
If you're going SP don't kid yourself, it's MCATIS or nothing
Loveless is better.
Loveless
dumb comparison though
Loveless
Loveless is better and more important and makes me feel more emotions.
Has anyone ever even gone so far as to cum on their copy of spirderland?
Checkmate slint-fags
lol spiderland is garbage
your taste in shitty avante garde pop music is all about sexual signalling, and loveless blows "spiderland" (eugh), the "slint" (double eugh) record out of the water in this domain. you can fuck to loveless if your partner is on the level, you can tell girls its your favorite album and appear deep (as long as they don't think you're talking about bullet for my valentine), you can frame the vinyl which will catch the attention of hipster boys at apartment parties and raise your social stock - it's all roses with loveless.
fuck spiderland lmao.
I approve this message.
Spiderland is the contrarian choice, Loveless is too mainstream for Sup Forums
Loveless and it's not even close
what the fuck
Loveless
consider kys
They aren't even about the same thing so I have no idea how you think they are comparable.
'Which do you like more ?! XD" isn't much of a discussion.
It's not a debate. Slint wins. Not even close
Sicko
I've never listened to either of these albums
I'd say spidetland personally.
EPIC!
Do you not know how discussions work or are you really this inept?
All this fags saying shit like "dumb comparison" are such plebs they don't even realise this is about the best album of 1991.
And it's Spiderland, but Loveless is almost on the same league.
id say loveless is better because of the story behind its production and its surreal sound. but i still love spiderland cuz it was made by 18yr olds and the riffs are unique as fuck
this hurts
I dont think you can even compare one with another, their both 8/10s but by much different reasons. But in my humble opinion, spiderland is better for a quick listen, but loveless is an album you really have to fully digest.
Laughing Stock is better than both....
This
theres no debate when its one sided
Loveless is the clear victor here
i just think the albums are some of the best that rock music has to offer user
scruffy gives them both 9/10
I'd say loveless is more complex and ambitious musically but spiderland is more emotional. They're both influential masterpieces anyways. This is a really tough choice honestly. They're really patrician classics that normies hate so they have a lot more in common than some would think.
lol slint = raw + minimal/ascetic
mbv = raw + decadent
raw + decadent is gangsta af.
Hmm boring shit vs a technical masterpiece
So hard to decide
it's not boring at all
Spiderland is more substantial and has a much greater sense of aesthetics, but To Here Knows When and Sometimes are the best songs from either.
slint > Owl City cover
Spiderland is such a snooze fest to me. Loveless all the way
Hey look! It's the best album of 1991!
...
Spiderland. Loveless is also amazing tho
Loveless literally changed my life but this is definitely the correct answer
All three are great though and people who hate on any one of them just because they listened to them once and didn't immediately love every second are dumbshits
blocks your path
you make a good point
how can you consider Loveless boring shit??
this is maybe the dumbest thing I've ever read. If you think Loveless is more musically ambitious than Spiderland than you clearly don't understand music in any way, shape, or form lol. Like the dude above said, Loveless sounds like they left their vacuum on in the studio the entire time, if you think that's musically ambitious then right on bra ;) power chords and vacuums ftw apparently
>no strawpoll
strawpoll.me
because this is a debate, not a popularity contest
>comparing the two
multiple peopel have already done it itt and i think c onvincingly
I want to gauge the thread's general opinion.
I'm not going to use the popularity as an argument though, if that's what you think is going to happen, (some still will though).
It feels really wrong comparing two albums with basically nothing in common and nearly opposite moods.
The real matchup is:
Loveless vs. Strange Free World
And
Spiderland vs. Rusty
terrible comparison cause they have pretty much nothing in common but id go with loveless because bilinda is my main bitch
lucky
well that's less fair because those albums aren't as popular
They're nothing alike though.
Their best album. I fucking love it.
>1991
All of you are retarded
Spiderland is something almost entirely unique ignoring that one codeine song...; its a pillar of post rock when post rock as a name made more sense
Loveless is the gold standard for production on a shoegaze album. They're well known and well liked for completely different reasons.
Definitely this
music is about how it makes you look and not actually about the substance in it
I'm mentally retarded btw
i can't stop listening to blue and black
the dude can't sing so its pretty obvious
Yes it is
why do you think so?
Both boring, both shit, both too quiet on vocals, both belong in obscurity where they belong
I think Loveless is a fun album but it's not anything more than that for me. I don't get the whole thing of people saying it's some profound life-changing album for them. Not ragging on it, genuinely sad that I'm missing out on a musical experience that other people are having and I'd be happy to have my mind changed on this. But for me it's got to be
laughing stock by talk talk
it didn't change my life but it does make my brain feel all fuzzy when i listen to it
