The world would be a better place without the internet

It was fine until social medias started popping up.

Sadly it's true.
Internet is just huge hugbox to leftie retards like commies, feminists.vegans,,,, and they all circlejerk each other to feel better about themselves.

The world would be a better place with my man mustard all over her face and sweater puppies

But where will I get all my cuck porn from?

I wouldn't be able to spend time with lovely human beings like you and the rest of Sup Forums if there were no internet.

t. Brzezinski

Political discourse is worse with the internet. Communications, medical data, intelligence/counter-intelligence and just the general ability to interact with people on the opposite end of the globe seamlessly proves that overall the world is better with the internet.

no, you'd be able to go outside and interact with real life people instead of living out your cuck/natty soc fantasies on the internet all day long.

I really wouldn't though. The rest of my time is spent on books and single player vidya, same as it was before Sup Forums.

You're half right.

The internet was - and still is, a great educational tool.

Thing is in its early years right up to the 2000's, in order to get the most out of the internet, you had to spend a large portion of time in front of a computer, this made it more nerd domain.

Nerds meant online trolling, but also a community of people who wanted to learn and discover.

The problem came with the flood of normies as well as the social media infrastructure that popped up in the later 2000's.

2007 is really the year it all went to shit.

>Facebook open to everyone (from 2006, but give it a year for it to become widespread)
>tumblr launched in 2007
>twitter launched 2007
>first iphone in 2007
>google purchased youtube in 2006

So with the addition of convenient websites as well as internet on the go, and all these convenient sites getting their own apps, the internet became easy peezy for normies.

Now normies tend to be idiots. And they inflict their stupidity on the internet, what was once a place of learning.

It's like a bunch of drunken degenerates from the late stages of the Roman Empire stumbling into the Great Library of Alexandria and having an orgy and kicking out the scholars.

The internet in its early years was beneficial to academics and the military.

So I wouldn't say the world would be a better place without the internet, but I think you'd be onto something if you said the world would be a better place if normies had limited access to the internet.

>It's like a bunch of drunken degenerates from the late stages of the Roman Empire stumbling into the Great Library of Alexandria and having an orgy and kicking out the scholars.

Great analogy, I'm stealing this for future use.

Without the internets I'd have to troll people personally, also I can't use my SIP PBX server to spoof caller ID and prank phone call people.
I'd have to obtain lulz personally, which is dangerous

It's true. I think that's really why so many people live in nostalgia over the 90s.

I know back when I was growing up I was always outside. Whether I was playing baseball at the park, riding my bicycle around town, going to mall with friends just to walk around, etc. I was always out doing something.

Nowadays a lot of kids grow up in front of the television or their iPad. They sit inside staring at their smartphones all day long. People are living their lives through the internet. It's really no wonder why everyone is being diagnosed with autism these days.

internet has always been crowded with new information at rates and scales we cannot visualice, that means it's gonna be full of crap because anywhere at anytime quality shit is a fucking scarce resource

It's up to individual skepticism and core knowledge foundations to cut out the crap and make good decisions, and this quality is pretty much scarce too

The world would be a better place without the industrial revolution.

the world would be a better place without the French Revolution, if you want to take things further back.

At the very least I wouldn't have to hear the retarded opinions of Americans quite as often.

There's enough in there for me to agree.

Isn't the mayor of your capital city a mudslime?

Agreed but the problem is now with the handful of mainstream sites that everyone uses, people are prone to finding themselves in echo chambers more than ever and people just parrot the same views at each other.

This is why you have so many liberal idiots who seem absolutely beside themselves when they encounter views that don't fit with theirs. By staying in their echo chambers that regurgitates bogus information, they can't deal with it when they find opinions that differ from theirs.

It's a very dangerous thing, this new internet.

THICC

post moar thicc honies pls

Big Bang Theory also came out in 2007

zimbabwe

Sure.
Just because you use it for hate speech, doesn't mean the whole world does.
Two examples on this website that benefit many people.

Without the Internet our politicians would be telling us how great Muslim refugees have been for Europe.
We'd have no choice but to eat up the trash they feed us.
Fuck right off OP you fucking soros megakike nigger puppet

Did it? I don't even watch it.

How much damage do you think it did?

Nobody would hear about Clintons corruption without us internet people.

Good point, the amount of shit you could learn from the Internet is pretty much limitless (though I still like physical books). Don't think a lot of people realize that though
Brehs

No the world would be a better place without your kind.
The internet was a big fuckup that allowed people to actually communicate en masse with each other.
Cant fucking have that now can we?
God i am so fucking tired of seeing this bitches face everywhere.
So little talent.
Such a small pile of hinges.

is that katya?

true.

Thank you based Drudge

The world would be better without electricity also

>the world would be better without social networking

Fixed

It destroyed the comic book and video game industry, pushing SJWs into the mainstream. So about that much

no, it's lavren from chvrches

>Don't think a lot of people realize that though
Problem is a lot of sites that are easily accessed on a computer are not so easy to navigate on a smart phone.

As the internet becomes increasingly app orientated, it will mean information gets consumed in more bite size chunks. This means it basically becomes LOL TL'DR for most of the internet.

This will mean the educational potential will still be there, just pushed further and further to the fringe.

The internet has more or less become a social and entertainment tool, which was only logical as it became more mainstream and easily accessible.

I remember seeing that the creator of the internet said he lamented what it has become.

B^)

Kojima was a man before his time

You want newspapers and magazines and tv controling the flow of information?

You are stupid. Make that capital S Stupid.

He was indeed. It's crazy how accurate his warnings were.

Quite honest, senpai

I can't until Trump wins

Wow son, I think the internet might have made you retarded.

How did it manage that?

Where would I have ordered drugs for thousands of dollars?

Holy shit, you're right.

Technology becoming popularized in general hurt the internet. Back when being a nerd or geek would ostracize you socially things were great. Now it's just a worthless trend. A meaningless descriptor people give themselves.

You can't.

same with electricity though.

and possibly even same with mass literacy and education.

face it, we'd all be happier and more fulfilled as farmer peasants with no knowledge outside the village. Everything that much more precious.

But there's also no going back unless you're willing to bomb your local datacenter and possibly worry about starving to death.

The internet became centralized with smartphones and social media so that's why normies are everywhere.

you don't get it.

having limited information is precisely what makes you learn more and stay SANE.

average people don't deserve and can't make use of all that info.

I don't know. I worry that even in the past, nerds were just ahead of the curve in degeneracy. There's scary connections between the founding moments of electricity and circuits and computing and the occult.

I think the Amish were right. Too bad I'm an electrical engineer and have to live with the fear that I might just be practicing witchcraft.

youre right

>Too bad I'm an electrical engineer and have to live with the fear that I might just be practicing witchcraft.
At least you'd know for certain you're practicing witchcraft in the proper manner.

Facebook ruined everything
So once again, Jews are to blame

>pushing SJWs into the mainstream. So about that much

BBT is stupid and silly but youre wrong

Pretty much yeah.

Shouldn't you be called to prayer at the moment?

Smartphones were the last blow. They ruined the internet. And I'm not even kidding. I've been using the internet since 1995 and the biggest turning point was smart phones. With them shit like social media became rampant and way too popular.

Over ten years ago the internet was very different. It was basically a huge place with little islands and communities all around, which didn't really bother each other. Nowadays thanks to social media and MSM going online, it's all jumbled together into a great steaming pile of shit.

Yup. And now those ideas can spread like wildfire. The only thing keeping normies away from consuming the internet was that they had to spend large amounts of time at the computer.

Now they can access it on the train.

At work.

At the coffee shop.

In the restaurant.

At their friends house.

Its 24/7 access.

nice buzzwords

This.
I love surfing on a properly tuned laptop.
Then I started using a smartphone -- the keyboard is a joke, I constantly hit buttons I do not intend to, all of the bugs worked out and protections emplaced in a laptop are sonehow completely unimaginable to implement or carry over to smartphones, I get to re-experience malstuff all over again even though if doing the same thing on a laptop would never even see it, and you have no meaningful control over a smartphone the way you rip stuff out and install what you want on a real computer.

>missing the point this badly

I used to think this too but for all the horrible things the internet has done to culture and society the internet has redeemed itself as being a free hub of INFORMATION. Its true that knowledge is power but knowledge is just applied, reasoned information. The internet and its free information and communication has saved humanity and been a gargantuan trump card against the former gatekeepers of knowledge and control who would have taken over and possibly exterminated the rest of us by now if now for the free exchange of ideas that is the internet. That said, people need to learn to adapt and limit what the internet can and has done to young minds. Its a caveat that we're only now learning to deal with.

I would go even further and say mobiles

I can remember a time when if you weren't home and someone rang you - you missed the call.
Probably caught up a couple of days later
>I rang you but you were out
>yeah, at the [insert place activity]

I'm not saying mobiles are useless - I've got kids and wouldn't like them leaving the house without them, but being "available" ALL the time changed things, for the worse.

>people need to learn to adapt and limit what the internet can and has done to young minds. Its a caveat that we're only now learning to deal with.
I agree with this. We're still learning what the internet can do for us.

It's kind of like when you get a new toy as a kid and it takes a while for the novelty to wear off.

Perhaps as people begin to get fed up, things will change and they'll see the benefit of using it more selectively.

Very much this

>screen free day in our house once a week
>something comes up in convo, kids want to find out more
>can't google
>wat do?
>point to reference shelf of bookshelves w/ dictionarys, encyclopedias etc.

>huh?

You're right, though.

I miss that time, before cell phones, fuck em'

social media is the main cancer really

We need it to expose the NWO.

If all I had was Television and Radio I would still be a lefty.

Just saying.

Milana is top tier jewfu

That's one shitty dress.

Why would I? You're right.

Digit-ism in every form adds 87% bad and 10% good to literally every digital medium.

I love Alex Jones, but he's clearly just holding his breath and sucking his gut in on the right.

My kids were horrified to find out that sometimes , you just missed a call.
>wut? not even like an answering machine?

Partly true - giving EVERYONE a voice hasn't really worked out well
Has helped some learn to start to filer tho, that's not a bad thing.
