I know there has to be some working men here on Sup Forums. I'm on my feet doing labor intensive work for 8-10 hours a day. I currently wear DC sneakers with Dr. scholls work insoles. I wear DC's because the shoe is naturally wide. Do any anons know of good work boot brands? Ones that are wide by default, or offer a wide variant? I'm willing to spend up to $300 for a kick ass pair of boots that are comfy, able to take a beating, and water resistant or proof.

>Inb4 Timberlands

Fuck outta here with those ghetto stompers

Pic unrelated. Something I grabbed at random from my funny folder

I was gonna suggest Timberlands or Wolverined, but with your budget I think the brand name is Red Eagle? I would suggest Etnies too but those are skater shoes. Comfy as hell and they have a good selection on wide feet options, so throwing that out there.

theyre "Red Wings"
dont discount timberlands. Theyre cheaper but still make some good boots that dont make you look like a nigger

Tim's I'm no fan of. Over priced for more an aesthetic than their functionality or longevity. I'll look into wolverines and I think that brand is called red Wing.

I love skater shoes. They're comfy and look good. But they do not hold up to the abuse I put them through daily for long. I'm buying a new pair of DC's like every month it seems. $80 a month for new sneakers and insoles is getting old.
Hmm. Idk. Always seemed like Tim's were over priced compared to the competition. Maybe I'll give them a second look.

All my Google searches keep pointing to Red Wings for my price range. Are they just that good? Or a branding thing? I don't mind spending on quality, but I don't want to spend on just a name.

Blue steel work boots.
I put my boots on at 4:30am and take them off about 7pm Mon/Fri.
Missus gets me a pair every year for my birthday cause it takes a year to chew through them.
Cost up to $200 depending on where you get them.

Thanks, was drawing a blank on the name. My dad is a contractor and swears by Red Wings.

I used to wear these for work I worked as a tree dude carrying logs and brush all day to throw into a wood chipper. 9-10 hours 5-6 days a week in the Texas heat and these did real good. Ariat steel toe with the camo sides the material on the sides was heavy duty not leather. They held up for a long time only threw them away cuz I started wearing them barefoot and that fucked up everything. They were pretty waterproof too cost $120 second best pare of boots I have had.

...

My mate swears by his doc Martin's.

But we call him faggot.

I've always been a big fan of Georgia Boots. Generally sturdy, good designs, plenty wide and won't break the bank.

In other words, black woman are annoying as shit, grass-hut living cunts that were enslaved by sand people because of their inferior stock.

Pro tip breh get a half size bigger than you normally wear for work boots. Also Luke dies.

not sure if they're available where you are, but i swear by Hi-Tec Magnum. Cheap as dirt but they're all day comfortable. Mine are two years old, toecaps look like shit, but they go on every day and are comfy as anything.

You dont want to wear boots if you dont have to. I have worn everything from CAT to Red Wings with the gum soles designed for smooth concrete and even with an extra insole in them, they just arent as comfortable as a paid of Nike Shox. Yes you will wear out athletic shoes a lot faster than a pair of Red Wings, but they are also a lot cheaper. I use to kill a pair of Shox ever 3-4 months. Red Wings would last me a year. The Nikes were $100 a pair. The Red Wings were closer to $350 and usually had to be special ordered.

Now if you happen to be standing on a ladder a lot, or if you are in an environment that is going to shatter a foot if something falls on it, then work boots with a steel shank/toe cap are your only choice. In that case its pretty much Red Wings or nothing.

Danners all the way for about $200 I got the most comfortable boots and have lasted 3 years so far.

OP, what do you do for a living?

Doc Martins are casual/street boots. Not real work boots

>DC Sneakers

Sage

>Blue steel
Google tells me they're highly rated and fully Aussie owned/operated. They seem good. But do I inherit the standard Aussie fear of large land bound birds by wearing them?
I'll look into them thanks!
Why a half size larger? I'm a size 13 so it'd be difficult to find a 13.5.
I've seen them. I was always wait because of how cheap they were. I'll try them on when at the store again
Yea I know. But I've been through shit lads of sneakers and I'm sick of spending good coin on 5-8 pairs of various sneakers a year. And I've heard about red wings. All good except for price
I'll look into them too. Im making a list basically at this point.
I work in a warehouse with very heavy car parts. All cement floors. Lot of walking, lifting. The dust and pallet dust alone start to wear holes in my DCs just from the friction I swear. And I've dropped heavy as fuck parts on my foot before so I feel a sturdy boot would not only help with longevity and comfort, but protection too

Georgia Boots are pretty good. My last pair lasted about 3 years but it took a while to break them in.

>Yea I know. But I've been through shit lads of sneakers and I'm sick of spending good coin on 5-8 pairs of various sneakers a year. And I've heard about red wings. All good except for price

If you work on your feet 8 hours a day, 5 days a week there is really no way around spending 300-400 a year on shoes/boots unless you are ok with your feet and heels being destroyed mush constantly.

If you HAVE to wear boots dont go cheap. Red Wings and higher end boots made of leather with stitched on soles can be resoled and repaired if the rest of the boot is ok. Resoling a pair of boots is usually around $100-120 and needs to be done once you have a visible ware pattern on them. But thats also only going to be viable if you are a warehouse/freight dock worker and your boots are perfect aside from the sole wear

These are wide, durable, and versatile.

Good to know! Thanks for the advice. A bit of looking around at the brands mentioned has Red Wings looking like the best, albeit most expensive, option.
Does the angst come with it?

...

/fa/ is about what looks good. I don't care if the boots are bully abominations, I'm after function.

Danner makes a great pair of hiking boots that also come in steel toed, and they offer wide sizes. I also put superfeet inserts into any new shoes I buy, regardless of original footbed.

I walk around all day and stand on ladders. Just go buy some Red wings you get 30 days to try em out. Stay away from heavy duty boots or even steel toe they weigh a fuck ton. DCs have absolutely no ankle support and are actually probably the worst shoes to wear daily.

Even before i bought red wings i always Walmart tactical boots ($35) and some good soles never gave me a problem.

Danners are looking attractive right now tbh. Im on their site looking at their ironsoft line. Meant specifically for people who walk on hard surfaces all day.
>No ankle support

Or trust me. I know. I get aches all in my lower back, knees, ankles, regardless of soles used.

Redwing boots my nigga. The CRV line is great. I’ve had them for years and they’re always comfortable and very durable.

Was gonna ask about those. I'm between the Red Wing CRV line in black and the Danner Ironsoft line. Luckily I have a Danner and RW retailer within 10 miles of me.

Ecco. Not to be confused with the other brand Ecko, that has a rino for it's logo.

I got my Eccos over 2 years ago and have worn them 5-6 days a week since and have not even bought new insoles yet. I can wear them all day and my feet are never sore.

Military boots, go to the flea market I had one but nigger stole them. You help a veteran and have some decent leather boots $50-100 depending the kind leather.

Damn, much respect for what you do. I went from a fiberglass factory to retail to bartending. I don't think many people appreciate factory jobs.

If you have to get custom insoles The Walking Company is great. I have high arches and the $60 price tag is well worth it. Used to switch out insoles between my sneakers and boots so my back wasn't killing me.

Get yourself some hiking boots. I find the most comfortable are Vasque. Lightweight, waterproof.

Second, and this is the most important part, go to a ski shop...not like an mc sports or Dunham’s or some big box sports store but a ski shop. You may have to go to a ski area/resort for this. Get yourself some custom footbeds. They make them for ski boots. Then put them in whatever boots you get. They’ll run you like $100-$200 but they’re worth it.

Merrel

Wolverine Boots. Get a set of durashocks. They will change your life. Gonna run you about $130. Wearing a 10.5EE steel toe.

Yea this job is good. Very well paying for the work. Benefits paid for by the company. They're actually paying for me to go to school, so I'll hopefully be going from blue collar to white collar at some point in the future. But for now, I need dem rugged, all American, blue collar, good ole boy tier clothing and foot wear.
>The Walking Company

I'll look into them. Although honestly I'm hoping that if I spend $250+ on a pair of boots, the soles the come with are at least decent.

Do you need steel toes? I've had good luck with Keen, Timberland PRO, and Merrell.

Red wing boots have proven sturdy for my job. I am outside/walking way more than you are, I can tell you that. The pair of red wing boots I had lasted me 6 months with HARDCORE abuse. I never swapped the boots once nor did I polish/take care of the boots. 6 months at best for me. A regular pair of boots running $100 will probably last me 1 to 2 months at the longest. Just giving you some comparisons there. If you post some hot ass bald pussy's, I will give you the recommendation of the MOST comfortable boots red wing has.

I work as a painter and wear DC shoes too. They grip to roofs and have good flex for climbing up and down laders and scaffolding. They don't make good work boots bro. DC is the next work boot!

Rockport / Rocksport

Boots wouldn't even be suitable in that type of field anyways.

Closest I have to a good pussy my man. And if you're getting half a year with some serious abuse, I can easily squeeze 2 years out of a quality pair.
Steel toes are hit and miss. But I'll take them because I've dropped shot before that left me with a swollen big toe and blood pooling under the nail. I'd like to avoid that.
DC shoes are awesome. But a work boot they are not. You're spot on with that.

I get about 1.5-2 years out of a pair of wolverine
boots. I have also owned Red Wing and Georgia Boot Co. boots and haven't found them worth the extra cost. They aren't as comfy as Wolverines either. I do a mix of inside and roof work doing HVAC-R. YMMV.

>you tried.jpeg
Anyways, the most comfortable boot from red wing is the Classic Moc. All my co-workers own a pair and recommended me get a pair as well but I opted out for the Iron Ranger because of the style. I regret it. Classic Moc will treat your feet like a king. Don't go with shit brands like timberland for a real mans working boot.

How has no one metioned Carharrt?

This

I wear their hats, sweatshirts, jackets, and gloves. Didn't even know they make boots.
>Tried
Yup sorry. I'm mobile. Don't have my 50GB container-o-porn. I'll look into the classic Moc. Thanks!

More fashion boots than workboots imo

Honestly for work boots (particularly outside) I have always used cheesy tacti-cool goretex boots like Bates, Magnum, etc. They hold up great and fit my mega wide feet (10 6E) They dont really look like a workboot if that is the style you are going for, but worth checking out

When you say queens do you mean nigresses

This

I wear magnum sitemaster. Work in a freezer warehouse. Got a size too big cause need room for warm sock. Great choice, composite toe cap doesn't chaff my wide toes. 8 hour shifts feel like 2 hours.

Nope. They are work wear that has been adopted by high sreet fashiona and skins.

Also, if you manage to keep the real leather clean and scratch free(depending on your job), you can literally rock those boots with jeans like this guy. Just make sure to get some odor killer if you wear it to go party and shiet.

Chippewa's have never done me wrong, they are comfy , durable and last a while so to me the prices are on point. also have a number of different styles to suit what type of boot you are exactly looking for whether Logging, construction, etc.

It's like saying you've owned a pair of nike from payless and find them incomparable to the jordans from foot locker? You're just bashing or bought some cheap ass red wings.
