What do you guys think about tattoos?

What do you guys think about tattoos?
Something all outstanding citizens must have or something only worthless trash have?

why do you create the same thread more than once?

>something only worthless

...

It says a lot about you as a person

I make more money than you. All you haters can sick my dick.

that's a fucking amazing tattoo

if they're nice and on arms, chest, legs I'm cool with them. Really screams white trash if it's on face or if it's stupid shit

>it's on face or if it's stupid shit

I like the ones with babies

That... may be the worst tattoo I've ever seen in my life. And that's really saying something.

A lot of girls are starting to get their eyebrows tattooed on

Nice trips.

On guys tattoos are largely meaningless if they are on the torso or upper arm and not visible when a shirt is worn. If they are service fags (army, navy, airforce) or other veterans this is standard male bonding stuff.

Those with visible tattoos (hands, neck, face) are doing society a favour by advertising the fact that they are perma losers who shouldn't be allowed in decent society and can only work at the margins (drug dealers, liquor store clerks, motel janitors, bouncers, etc.)

Women with tattoos (whether visible or not) are doing society a favour by showing their low esteem and poor life choices. It screams at full volume "By all means fuck me in the ass, but I have so many STD's you should wear a full body condom".

THIS HAS BEEN A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT SPONSORED BY THE CENTRES FOR DISEASE CONTROL & PREVENTION

tattoos are a form of self harm

If your tattoos are visible when wearing long pants and a long-sleeve shirt, you’re subhuman trash. I fully expect you to die from mishandling illegal fireworks, a “street dispute,” irresponsible drug use, or one of the other stereotypical ways that subhuman garbage people like you usually die.

If you have sleeves, I just assume you’re someone who was never as cool as you wanted to be, and you never will be. Maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll grow up and get a solid middle class vocational job, like plumber or male porn star. This is borderline territory. You might totally be an okay dude.

A tramp stamp is the female equivalent of sleeves - trashy, but redeemable.

Small, tasteful tattoos that are easily coverable with work clothing are okay. They’re not trashy, but they depend on the person and the tattoo. You might still seem like a giant tool.

most of the harm goes to your reputation

This.

Though I think tasteful, relatively hidden tattoos on girls can be okay. However, I agree that the margin for trashiness is far smaller for girls.

>cancer.png

>tasteful, relatively hidden tattoos on girls

But they never are, are they? They end up getting the most dick willingly fucking stupid shit done.

Equally, even if it is just a "tasteful, relatively hidden tattoo", it's like the first lump of the bubonic plague...where one starts, others are sure to follow.

I want a 1-up mushroom as a tramp stamp. Or a triforce.

not sure i care about the opinions on a board full of permavirgins and social shut-ins
of course they're gonna hate tattoos and anything society does

literally the gayest thing I have heard all day.

>don't care
>has to post

>board full of permavirgins and social shut-ins
>and yet there he is

Feel free to believe what you want to believe, but not all of us are social retards, just here enjoying the bants while having a beer and the wife watches bullshit on tv.

As a production supervisor for a major deodorant manufacturer, I am involved in about 10 interviews for various plant positions every day and my rule of thumb is that I'll put up with the line staff having tattoos, but anyone interviewing for supervisor and above with tattoos is automatically discarded.

This is not because I have anything against tattoos per se, but rather that most people (like the numb cunt above) the tattoos reflect the person and mostly that reflection is of "poor life choices, poor self-esteem, behavioural issues, etc. (the list goes on and on)".

I can put up with that for the guys on minimum wage packing boxes whom are on zero hours contracts so I can effectively fire at will.

I won't put up with that sort of bullshit with salaried staff.

Having tattoos is both a lifestyle choice and also a career choice. You are deliberately undermining yourself by doing shit like this.

...

You say this but know a few people with way too many tattoos that aren't in the best place financially or mentally.
And knowing the kind of people they are I wouldn't say the tattoos put them in that situation but it definitely didn't help.

It's only a career choice so long as prejudiced people like you make assumptions about people with tattoos. I'm a paramedic in a major city and there are more than a few first-responders (fire/police/ambulance) who have visible tattoos. Do you assume we're any less capable of saving lives or putting out fires because we have some pictures put in our skin?

>production supervisor for a major deodorant manufacturer

good job reaching that lofty goal so you can judge everyone

I dont think tattoos say much about someone anymore. Everyone gets them. I dont have any because I have no idea what I want on my body.
I do think girls who have alot of tattoos look ugly though.

They are called "stereotypes" for a reason and they are part of our risk based survival mechanism that allows us to live in large cities.

If stereotypes didn't have some basis in fact then they wouldn't exist / wouldn't be useful.

The reason I cross the road when I see a gang of coloured young males hanging around a corner or coming down the street towards me is not racism, but risk avoidance.

I don't go near gypsy / traveller camps because of the well documented problems with that societies thuggish behaviour.

Stereotypes are helpful because they allow us to make risk avoiding decisions about INDIVIDUALS WE DONT KNOW. This is their purpose.

>this, although I think something I'm already stuck with is ok

it starts with a date or a footprint then unravels into a forked tongue and leopard spots

>my farts don't make any noise either

>t starts with a date or a footprint then unravels into a forked tongue and leopard spots

Like this fucking abomination...

You can't say retarded anymore

>You can't say retarded anymore

You can't say nigger either, but I haven't seen such prohibitions leading to a decline in either retards or niggers. Quite the opposite in fact.

What's your point?

You know, I can see she wanted to boost her teensy ass with awesome ink, but all that happened was they were both ruined

We will continue to abolish knowledge that offends people, without your consent

Let's face it. Getting a tattoo is a bad decision. When you see someone with a tattoo you know it's a person that makes bad decisions.

A personal choice, as it is a business's choice not to employ them.

jesus christ its a butterfly

I lost

i get why people get them, but i'll probably never have one. not interested in body mods

>Let's face it. Getting a tattoo is a bad decision. When you see someone with a tattoo you know it's a person that makes bad decisions.

Which is why I won't employ those with tattoos in supervisory positions.

Tattoos are best when combined with it's friends gauges and piercings.

can't wait till i see people walking around that are old as fuck that used to have gauges

WHo dis

>can't wait till i see people walking around that are old as fuck that used to have gauges

I doubt it will be much of an issue as most of them will have died of drug overdoses or just plain offed themselves long before they get old.

Tattoos are OK, as long as they're done by a pro, mean something to you, and can be hidden (because you don't want to loose your job because of that).

The only thing is that when you start, you want more. I got one two years ago and I already have ideas for three more...

BTW, to me that's meaningful. Whoever did this wanted to say "fuck you" to the meaningful aspect. It doesn't have to be deep, it just has to mean something to you.

None of that is an actual argument. You're just admitting you're prejudiced and racist like it's supposed to justify discriminating against people who look different from you.

Or just when they turn 30 and figure out they look really stupid. Can't get a job. Can't get a not slut girlfriend. Can't get into a better restaurant. Will never be treated with respect.
All because of a stupid thing you did when you were 18ish.

Why? Seriously, though. I got one, which I can easily hide, and I do a great job.

My only concern with such positions is that if the tattoo is visible and cannot be hidden, then you risk deterring some customers who don't like what they see. In all other cases, I don't see the issue.

Absolutely amazing. And those trips!

There's surgery to fix this. It has a cost, but at least you can go back...

>None of that is an actual argument. You're just admitting you're prejudiced and racist like it's supposed to justify discriminating against people who look different from you.

You really are a fucking spastic aren't you user.

Stereotypes apply when you DONT FUCKING KNOW SOMEONE and you have to make a judgement about them at relatively short notice, usually just a 20 minute job interview in my book.

Sure, you're CV and qualifications say a great deal, but they don't really tell me about the person. This is especially true in interviews where they are on their best behaviour trying to get the job.

With visible tattoos I get a brief glimpse into the people they are but can't hide (or maybe haven't even tried to hide)

This has value to me, but unfortunately for the guy I am interviewing it means they are wasting their time.

I am prepared to be surprised, but I haven't been surprised thus far. Of all of the tattooed fuckwits on the production line (i.e. non-supervisory roles), there is not a single one of them that I would promote, their tattoos reflect their attitudes in life.

I have no ragrets about my decision to avoid hiring tattooed fuckwits in supervisory roles.

...

All it boils down to is you have a bias against people with tattoos and should be barred from hiring positions. Your perception of what their tattoos mean doesn't mean a damn thing. You have no idea what it means.
You have nothing against tattoos except people having them, I guess.

i like the way some of them look

This

>Your perception of what their tattoos mean doesn't mean a damn thing.

It means they ain't getting a supervisory job user. That's what it means.

What you and the rest of the tattooed fuckwit community don't want to accept is that you are being held accountable financially for your shitty life choices.

You know full well that there the normal people like me who you face across the interview table are going to feel the same.

They won't say it, they won't write it on the feedback form to HR, but it is true nonetheless. If asked why TheLegend27 was rejected at interview we just give some totally reasonable, but subjective answer like "Patchy job history", "Didn't feel he/she was being entirely honest about experience", etc.

Who hires us? Who gives us the right to choose against you and your "awsome ink" in job interviews? People that think the way we do, that's why we were hired.
