Jazz: Buddy Rich
Rock: John Bonham
These are not debatable.

bonham cant swing for shit bb
of course he is otherwise amazing

>Jazz: Buddy Rich
seriously? he's the most mechanical-sounding, loudest, most dynamics-less jazz drummer ever

>bonham cant swing for shit bb
examples? did he ever swing, lol

Phil Collins

...

how many more times
its rock in threes, no real swing

As far as pure endurance goes. I'll choose Zach over any of these old/dead fucks you throw my way.

He wasn't always on time but he was always epic.

Nobody gonna say Jaki Leibezeit from Can cuz he's on Scruffy's list at the top?

this is an excellent counter argument

i submit it is rock in threes and not swung. swinging is like an uneven re-spacing of the notes thats 'kinda' like a triplet, but it can vary by feel, by tune.

Source: me. im super dope.

Bonham
Jimmy Chamberlain
Ginger Baker
the guy from Alice in Chains

Will Calhoun
obvs Peart and Bran Dailor even though I don't listen to those bands

then there's Clyde Stubblefield and Jabo
Bernard Pretty Purdie

saw an interview with the Steely Dan guys, when they hired Purdie for Aja, he would set up signs next to his kit that said "That's right, you've hired the best! Bernard Purdie" I guess since he was a session man, trying to be visible to all the producers, A&Rs etc

Genesis, Eno, Gabriel and many, many other greats have employed his skills. Not to mention his solo stuff. A pretty good resumé, to say the least.
