I'm no expert on techno or math rock, but I know that SAW 85-92 and Spiderland are infinitely more popular and critically acclaimed than any of their contemporaries

This and Nowhere are BY FAR the 2 greatest shoegaze albums of all time, I don't give a fuck if they have "britpop" influence, they do way more interesting things than Loveless or Slowdive and are just straight up more entertaining.
