Where's the Grail?

...

we have a fort built in the 1850s in the harbour, it was built because they were afraid of american naval attack strangely

>Fortified structure
>Inhabited by a lord or noble
>Function as a fortress

This are the requirements to be considered a castle, in Brazil there's palaces but not castles.
Or why is that is not considered a castle?

I'm agreeing with you, it is a castle under all definitions of the word. I'm just wondering why you keep posting it when it always derails threads into the same bullshit.

>it is not a castle because i say so
>but look at this and that and that, etc. etc. etc.
>doesn't matter, it doesn't look like a castle, this american massion on the other hand, does
>emperor, yadda yadda, fortress blah blah definitions
>new worlders >castles

isis fortified themselves in it and was heavily damaged

Genuine article

its a manor, just because you take some dictionary meaning and force it to work doesn't change that

Fucking americans

Which king lived there?
When was used as a fortress?

>fortified palace inhabited by an emperor of an actual member of one of the most influential royal houses of Europe
>not a castle

But yeah, I'm tired to be arguing about it. Believe what you will.

wasn't intended as castle but used as such many times over history
(y)

>palace
the function of a palace and a castle are entirely different, thats like calling Westminster a castle

How do you feel about Shia Iranians flaying themselves in your country and getting their blood all over?

>fortified palace
>fortified
- It is not a fortress, since an Emperor lived there.
- It is not a palace, since it is fortified.
The word for "fortified palace where emperors used to live" is "castle".

Bergh is a massive one

Meh, I prefer Kalmars castle.
Built in the 1100's, used as one of the most important fortifications in the north.
In the 1600's the castle was fitted with 287 big cannons in all directions.
It was considered the crown of Sweden's defenses. Today perfectly preserved and thousands of tourists visit every day.

Another pic. The only way in through the 5-7 meter high walls. A tunnel of death for any enemy.
