This wasn't recent. People were too caught up in the anointing of Obama in 2008 when he won the election (and many on Sup Forums still do not want to scrutinize him) but if you look at his past and upbringing, he really is not a good American.

I get the impression that he genuinely wants to make the world a better place. And that doesn't mean he always did a perfect job at it. But he has simply never said or done anything, ever, that makes me think he's less-than sincere.
He's a good guy. Like a genuinely, wife-loving, church-going, daughter-raising, neighbor-helping, community-organizing, good guy. You can say plenty of bad things about decisions he's made. But his intentions?
Really don't have any basis to make those claims on.
He's not the "apple pie" Americana success story you are looking for.

He is very patriotic to his native Kenya.
His success came easy to him because he is blackish. The white liberal guilt vote was strong in 2008. DNC members ushered him into a position of power, because he was electable through happenstance. Not because of any spectacular achievement.
He didn't deserve it. He was unqualified to be president, and his success is due to mistake of birth. How is that not the farthest thing from Americana you can get?
I agree that he would make a great neighbor, but his rise cannot be said to be the result of extraordinary brilliance, perseverance, or natural aptitude in any reasonable representation. Just another mostly compliant pawn.
