Deadpool's character is vastly different than wolverine.

Logan in the comics has routinely been shown to not be immortal. His healing factor slowed down his ageing process but there have been a number of comics where he gets old and it gets weak such as "Old Man Logan" the comic this film is very loosely based on. The reason it's very loosely based on the comic was that it was full of characters FOX couldn't use, so they had to make some big changes (for instance in the original comic his travelling buddy is a blind old Hawkeye, not Xavier and the kid he winds up with is Hulk's grandson).

Original Wolverine didn't have the amazing immortality cheat code healing factor that he does in modern comics. Bullets took weeks to heal, he could die from organ damage and blood loss, he was just incredibly hard to tag due to the way he moved and fought (fast, goes for the kill).

The wolverine regenerating from a drop of blood thing is largely considered one of the worst things they ever did to him, because it made him boring as fuck.

It wasn't the original, I agree with you but after the Adamantium treatment his healing factor evolved to the point that he can regenerate so fast that can't be killed.

Professor X even said that Wolverine is unique on his class thanks to his power and is the only one able to survive almost everything, another mutant that was included in the same opinion was Romulus who's somehow an old lineage of Wolverine's race, and Romulus is what we can expect from Wolverine if he evolves even more.
