Total number of 2016 releases viewed so far

Pic related.

Haven't bought a single ticket, nor have I streamed a single 2016 release.

Is this THE worst year for film ever?

Capeshit
Kid shit
SJW shit
Sequel
Prequel
Reboot

GARBAGE!

How many films bombed this year? 70%?

Who else hasn't watched anything this year?

Regardless, I'm officially calling film DEAD.

Literally a pleb.

Hell or High Water?

>streamed

You don't even deserve to watch kino.

Witch, Deadpool, Green Room, Angry Birds, The Nice Guys, Warcraft, Suicide Squad, Storks, Middle School

I feel like I'm missing something I saw this year. 5 bucks to see some shitter never bothered me much.

> when the closest theater playing it is an hour away 'cause half the shit playing at my huge-ass one is chink shit
One of the only movies I would've paid to see in theatres, along with
> Blood Father (limited release only in fucking Quebec)
> Nice Guys (also wasn't at my theatre 'cause of chink shit)
> Three (chink shit but not at my theatre)
> The Accountant
> Noctural Animals
> Dog Eat Dog

Kinda excited for Free Fire, Salt and Fire, Arrival, Army of One

I'm in the same boat OP, 2016 has pretty much been a meme year

>Sup Forums says "go see Nice Guys"
>movie completely ruined by incorporating some 12 year old child into the plot

Fucking Sup Forums.....

>didnt watch ShinGodzilla

kys

OP

you're a lazy plebfuck

this is going to end up as one of the best years in a while once the major releases still to come have dropped

here are some great movies from this year that have already been released:

Elle
Certain Women
Ixcanul
Louder Than Bombs
Everybody Wants Some
The Witch
The Fits
Sully
The Wailing
Love and Friendship
The Shallows
Sunset Song
OJ: Made in America
Our Little Sister
Cemetery of Splendor

masterpieces still to come:

Cameraperson, Moonlight, Fire at Sea, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Spa Night, Happy Hour, Kate Plays Christine, Paterson, Nocturama

tl;dr OP IS PLEB AF

>ITT: manchildren and underages whining about having their shit taste called out

actually it's that + OP having his maximum plebianism called out

It's been a good year, better than 2015 for me. I've seen bunch of good films and still expecting some even better ones from film festivals to come online (Personal Shopper is the most expected one)

>The Shallows.
I like Jaume a lot but this.. I don't know about. The moment of screen filling red was amazing though.

MbtS and Personal Shopper are my most expected ones.

...

Right, I forgot Personal Shopper in my list. I forgot A Quiet Passion too.

I am a fan of Jaume in general and I thought The Shallows captured everything I like about his movies. It's easily the most beautiful Hollywood blockbuster I've seen this year, though Hollywood has been as awful it usually is so I guess that isn't saying much.

I liked Nerve for similar reasons. Neither movie is really all that great but they were fun enough and visually gorgeous.

I saw HP in IMAX and it was fantastic

all of the shit ive seen from this year has been meh. i did see Barry Lyndon for the first time finally though

it's really pretty damn embarrassing that any posts about actual movies in this thread about someone asking for movie titles is made fun of by maximum plebs who probably see zero good movies per year

You clearly don't you fucking faggot.

Nothing but retarded af. OP post and then stupid shit flinging when your fucking pleb fucking ass gets called out.

>A Quiet Passion.
The Sunset Song was just recently released as bluray so it surprises me that Terence already had a new one coming (I found about this in some thread here, I didn't even bother checking his upcoming films because I assumed there would be a gap).

I got Nerve and other stuff still sitting on HD waiting to be watched. Maybe I'll check it out tonight.

Got MUBI/Letterboxd?

Jaume's films with Liam are very good. He's got a new one with Liam coming so I'm way more excited for that than the Shallows myself.

Makes pretty interesting action films.

I think everyone was fairly surprised about A Quiet Passion, it sounds great from what I've read about it.

Nerve has a very fun first hour that turns into didactic bullshit in the last half hour or so. The visuals are gorgeous enough to warrant the watch I think though.

I opened accounts with both sites but I never used them with any regularity and I almost never visit them anymore.

I rather like his action movies too but I think my favourite of his is actually Orphan, which is a deliciously perverse slice of trash. I didn't even know about the new Liam one but I will definitely look forward to that now.

I haven't gotten to Orphan, should check that out sometime but I've been watching films from 20-40s together with 2016 releases.

Kind of overdosed on films from 2000-2010s some months back.

Shame about the accounts, link either one if you feel like you might pick up using.

Mubi is streaming Lav Diaz film per month by the way, fi you are interested.

THIS is the garbage you're defending?

>The Shallows: Still reeling from the loss of her mother, medical student Nancy Adams...

>Personal shopper: A young American in Paris works as a personal shopper for a celebrity.

>A Quiet Passion: is an upcoming British-American biographical film directed and written by Terence Davies about the life of American poet Emily Dickinson

You're all a bunch of bitches...

I really have to get some diligence when it comes to pursuing particular periods/genres/decades of film. I generally try to go by director but I wonder sometimes if that's the best method. I've watched about 20 Brian De Palma movies over the last couple of months.

I just activated a MUBI account that I had sitting in my email for a year or so. I used to have an old one but after giving it a cursory glance I think I'd rather have a fresh start. I will try to make an effort to use it, I did used to take a fair amount from the site when I was an active user years ago.

Here is my account link, give me an add.

And I have unfortunately not seen a single movie from Diaz, he's definitely on my radar though.

Kill yourself

>Pic related

those first two are pure garbage.

Because you've seen PS?

Shig yourself out of existence stupid fuck together with your boyfriend to whom you replied.

I just love the composition black/white academic ratio films so that's why the 20-40s hit me hard right now.

Going by director can be fun or really exhausting depending of the director.

Followed ya.

Did you see the directors cut of Margaret? I've only seen the shorter version (not directors).

>based Viggo

I might actually check that out.

Why do you people always have to fuck shit up here?

There's a containment board made just for you special snowflakes.

I want to watch films right now, I intend to but I have several threads open and I can't just leave, I don't want to miss my (you)s.
It has been like this for years, I don't know what to do.

post porn get banned repeat every time your ban wears off

I've seen 39. And of those 39 about 8 were good-great. There's still 15 more so far I want to see.

I would just reset my router, and I can't bear the thought of not browsing Sup Forums, it's the only thing preventing from killing myself.

>I can't bear the thought of browsing one of the worst online forums.

At least read Criterion Forums or something this board is of 0 value

>kristen stewart
>b-but you're a memer she can act
kys

This board is my home.

Yeah, the director's cut is superior I would say. Margaret in the last year or two has become the movie that first comes to mind if I am prompted to think of my "favourite" film. The extended cut has a few additional sequences and the actual soundscape of the film is altered, more "extraneous" dialog layered over top of the image in many of the city street sequences. Definitely give it a look if you liked the shorter version enough to rewatch the movie.

Also, how do I follow you back? I try to click your profile and the site just says that it's private.

I thought you were talking about Spoony uploading videos on his patreon account. hahaha

Why do you come to Sup Forums to say this? no one really cares and it's your loss after all.

I think you should be able to go to your 'followers' tab and click follow or something

>the actual soundscape of the film is altered
sounds interesting enough. every torrent was 0 seeds except for the shorter version, fucking shame.

Holy fuck, how can Sup Forums be your main board? There are only two or three threads worth reading at any given time.

OLD

MEME

I bet this user doesn't even watch tv

How new are you.

Do it man, its worth it. First movie in a while thats made me put down my phone and pay attention to whats happening.

Its not a rubbish popcorn flick.

Not being able to find anything you might enjoy doesn't make you smarter, superior, or possessing of better tastes. It makes you a cynical asshole with a psychiatric issue.
