Are you guys hyped for the launch of the only patrician streaming service?
Are you guys hyped for the launch of the only patrician streaming service?
I have PtP, so not really.
is the Criterion Collection leaving Hulu?
That's the only reason I got Hulu in the first place
Yep. Moving to this new service next month.
delayed to november
>he doesn't have a mubi account
Lol, kill yourself kid.
Very yeah. Really interested to see what kinda supplements they offer like commentary and bonus features and stuff. It's exciting. Would have loved to see some classic TCM content, and surprised it's excised, but i'll continue to use the TCM app for that.
OH FUCK. I NEED TO START BINGE WATCHING ASAP
how much does it cost a month?
like $7, but if you want Criterion movies too it costs $11.
shit my bad i thought you wanted the price for FilmStruck
Mubi is $5 a month
fandor > mubi
Sounds kinda neat desu.
mubi is already dead
Filmstruck is the TCM Library plus the library of Criterion Collection/Janus Films/Rialto Pictures
Why would anyone need anything else? It would have to be one shitty service to fuck this up
It's not really going to be the TCM library. They say there won't be much overlap between what they show on TCM and the stuff on Filmstruck. There won't be too much of a focus on old Hollywood I think.
>It would have to be one shitty service to fuck this up
charging $11 a month for starters
>the TCM Library
Nope just international and some indie, no classics
I have PTP too, and yes I am because Filmstruck has high quality restorations of Tarkovsky films from Criterion that don't have BD releases or even announcements yet
MY BODY IS SO READY
if you don't already possess most of these films you should just kys pleb
...
The base $7 tier includes Criterion films, but a smaller, rotated selection, compared to the higher tier.
The $11 tier gives you over 1,000 of them at once.
well, that fucking sucks
Yeah, it's odd. Assuming there'll be other great content, but still.
>too poor to afford $11 a month
Lmao how fucking broke can you get?
If they were adding the TCM catalog, I'd go for it.
It just doesn't seem entirely worth it without the Hollywood classics as well.
They'll be drawing on the TCM library too. The service has a arthouse/foreign/"high-brow" focus, but TCM owns that giant movie catalog.... it doesn't cost them any licensing fees to throw old Hollywood on there too. It'll be part of the selection, it's just that the average programming day on TCM isn't representative of the whole service.
