Wut

that's james from american military base in baden württemberg

That's better than football. Not being allowed to kick in open play is fucking stupid

...

Nah, most of us are aware that the CFL is pretty dogshit. I'm fairly certain the NFL gets way more viewership than the CFL does here

...

The CFL is able to sustain itself at least, that's not bad for a small country on the border of a supermassive cultural black hole.

>he actually thinks NFL rules are better

kys

Who hurt you famm?

me

can a leaf please explain what's going on here?

>border of a supermassive cultural black hole.

end this meme now. American pop culture doesn't have that much clout globally. I don't think that many people outside of N.A. consume American culture.

The reality is that just not even Canadians want to watch the CFL.

>I don't think that many people outside of N.A. consume American culture.

Man WHAT?

>I don't think that many people outside of N.A. consume American culture.
do you live under a fucking rock?

In the CFL, if you kick the ball through the back of the endzone you get 1 point. So that single point would win the game in this case, therefore the defending team had to kick the ball back out. I remember watching this game live kek

It's no longer the 50s people. Other than movies, what exactly do we produce that the rest of the world really cares for? Our sports are largely ours alone, same goes for many other pieces of American culture.

>Other than movies and tv shows, the most popular forms of media in the world, what exactly do we produce that the rest of the world really cares for?
I can't even imagine being this retarded.

Porn

>leaf
opinion not even acknowledged

Yet you provide no counter evidence.

>People enjoy the American versions of the most popular media in the world, movies
>They also buy American brands, play American video games, watch American TV shows, and follow American celebrities
>"I don't think that many people outside of N.A. consume American culture."

You are not so smart.

>he'd rather watch commercials for ten hours
NFL is cancer and it's fucking garbage. Get some taste.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weasel_word

You're either mistaking my statements for some sort of taunt at our country or you just have an extremely overblown sense of importance that i've offended by simply stating that truth.

>truth
>no proof
Fuck right off

>all this shitposting about American culture

It is mostly omnipresent, but I wouldn't say it is imposed on the world. Take sports for example, American Football is considered a joke in most of the world, it doesn't matter how hard they have tried to make it popular. Baseball is only popular on the countries USA has invaded and occupied. Basketball is the only American sport I would say is popular everywhere.

Of course I'm talking about sports here. If by "American culture" you mean the trash produced by transnational no face companies to profit on the brainless masses, I would say it dominates, but is not an example of real Amerifat culture.

>but is not an example of real Amerifat culture.
This is a logical fallacy. I'm sure you know which one.

>some random british or canadian slut/cuck who performs the music written by a media analysis team with song by a depressed musicians
>dropped when they get to old or are not generating enough profit
>owned by a no face conglomerate with shareholders all over the world
>""""""American culture"""""""""

You could argue this trend originated in USA, but it is not an example of authentic American culture, which actually exists.

He's not wrong though.

Are you seriously going to argue that Hollywood and modern television as it exists now isn't completely an American creation? If a British actor stars in an American TV show, it's somehow no longer American to you? This line of reasoning is ridiculous.

Looks like fun tbqh

The CFL is great. Come at me.

Thats not what I'm saying, but if you think that something being based on USA soil makes it magically "American", yes you are wrong. You need to separate actual American culture from simple consumerist trash made by a no face transnational with no real ties with the USA besides their main building being in California or New York while their """"headquarters"""" are in the Caiman Islands.

You know, this is supposely an actual issue in your country, how this blob some call """"pop culture"""" destroy your local culture and identity. There is a reason why Southern folk hates NY and Hollywood so much.

Canadian football aint bad
Kicked balls are still live.

>Baseball is only popular on the countries USA has invaded and occupied.

This isn't true. Baseball was introduced to Japan in the late 1800s by an American school teacher, long before we warred with them. They then spread the game to Korea.

Baseball in Cuba was popularized by a native Cuban in the 1870s, and then grew to other Caribbean countries.

We also never occupied Canada and Mexico.

>mfw

Toronto area cucks hate the CFL more than the average American

>There is a reason why Southern folk hates NY and Hollywood so much.
That doesn't make it not part of American culture. Just because hicks think sister-fucking and having your kids grow up to be retards because they spend 7 months a year farming is "culture" doesn't mean they have a point. New York and Hollywood aren't a picture perfect representation of all of America, nothing is. But they are "American culture", and the most popular form of it. Likewise jazz and therefore rap are American, and many other current genres owe their roots to American music, so I don't get your point about the music industry. Plenty of the biggest artists in the world are American, as well.

I loved having a German flag when I was stationed there

cfl doesn't really sustain itself

salary cap is at 5 million, and the tv deal brings in 4
teams make money, but only because americans with nothing else going for them will play for 3000 a game

problem with the cfl is there's no overlapping games
so the browns can be hidden on a sunday afternoon by 5 other games, every cfl game is the only one on

last year week one was horrible and it scarred people off

Regardless of the retardation seen in this post, Hollywood was run by mostly Americans with most of the first major directors and filmmakers being Americans (Griffith, Keaton, Demille, Chaplin,). The Hollywood studio system was created by Americans, while European studios had a totally different modus operandi. Maybe actually learn something about the foundations of Hollywood? Start here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cecil_B._DeMille

Which cfl teams are worth watching?

Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

for me, it's the Lions

Is this a "Lions are shit" joke, or is there a CFL team called the Lions?

BC Lions in Vancouver

the bc lions are not affiliated with detoilet

at 11 seconds, why was no one around him? Do receiving players have 5 yard safe catch zone?

>all these buzzwords spent on freshman marxist sociology

Punt returners have a five yard halo, and in-play punts count as punts

Pretty rare but every now and then, usually in desperation, a runner or quarterback just punts the ball downfield. In the CFL, the punter and anyone behind him when he punts it is eligible to recover it. Makes for some weird strategies.

here it is with audio

youtube.com/watch?v=d5BFaykcxGg

Also a kick/punt not returned out of the endzone is a single point. Here the QB didn't have anyone open for a hail mary at the end of the half so he just said fuck it, maybe I'll get one out of it, except his teammate didn't know what was going on.

cfl.ca/2014/10/24/drew-willy-makes-an-unorthodox-cfl-play/

>You need to separate actual American culture

And what is that?

The US doesn't have one "host" culture. We've always been a melting pot where culture can be dramatically different from neighborhood to neighborhood.

That said, if I had to name things distinctly "American" that have influenced world culture, they would be:

Jazz, Rock-and-Roll, Hip-Hop, Denim Jeans, Baseball hats, Animation, and Hollywood movies.

BC, Calgary, Ottawa have qbs
the other teams kind of suck

>level of knowledge with that flag
were you an import player?

>there are canadians actually defining the CFL in this thread

Just give us the Bills already and everything will be fine.

just a football fan

>Drew Willy

FUCK YES DAT SUNY-BUFFALO

Just one question, if the Argos had fallen on the ball in the end zone at the end of that play would it have been a safety?

I believe so, yes.

no, it would have been a rouge (one point) for not taking the ball out of the endzone

often punt returners give up the point in exchange for field position

G-go Saskatchewan!

>mvq les alouettes remportent la coupe grey

I went to one of the Bills in Toronto games. The atmosphere was utter dogshit. Even actual Canadian fans of the Bills prefer to go to Buffalo to watch games.
