>What do youdo for work anons?
PhD student.

>Do you enjoy it?
Yes.

Painter
No i fucking hate it but it pays well, making 25 an hour at 20 is alright for now

Whats your thesis on?

What would you like to be doing?

I.T contractor working for companies who land DOD contracts.. Cant complain. Trying to land a Cyber Sec job

I work retail. Sephora. Surrounded by beautiful women. I hate the work. Its soul sucking. But the people I work with are cool.

Call me a sperg, but i enjoy playing games it's a passion, ideally i wish i could just afford an average or below average life just by streaming and playing games with my friends

>Whats your thesis on?
Creating a framework for decoupling IO resources in a PCIe cluster from the hosts they reside in.

>Trying to land a Cyber Sec job
Same. Just gotta run out the clock on my current contract.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that sounds like you're just building a hypervisor

You're wrong. A hypervisor enables virtual machines in a single host. This is a framework for using IO devices residing in remotely connected hosts in the cluster as if they were locally installed, without any virtualisation involved.

Oh I see. What's the application of this?

You can share remote IO devices, for example SSDs, GPUs, FPGAs etc, anywhere in the interconnected cluster, and the devices will appear to the system as if they are locally installed. You can create custom hardware configurations that are optimised for moving data around between multiple nodes, without needing to change existing software or device drivers.

Sounds cash dude. Good luck in the future

Thanks user.

That actually sounds really good from a practical standpoint.
Imagine a component renting company, for instance, where you could actually pay for more power for your machine without needing to run through the risk of physically damaging the component

Or, in other cases, times where the parts cannot be physically delivered for whatever reason, you're actually giving the chance of having better terminals for users that are stuck in remote places.

>I'd buy it/pay for it

Well, this only works in PCIe clusters, which limits the application to 24 node clusters maximum 100 meters apart.

>What do youdo for work anons?
i make android apps

>Do you enjoy it?
yeah, its pretty comfy

Working at Macca's and just starting Uni in a couple months...can't really complain since it's causal employment for experience and pay

*casual

Big nordic telecom operator, Telia.
Work as a salescoordinator.
I enjoy it, its a great company and can see myself climbing far in the ladders

But then, could you essentially have minor, "mirror" nodes that are basically just mirrors/repeaters?
Say, long-distance networks connected by mirror nodes

Sanitation for a factory

bredy good money considering the work.I slack alot and sleep in the supply closet ducts. When no one is at the factory ill watch movies in the ducts too.Its warranted because my supervisor is a retarded negro....im so tired of working with black people and loud mexicans

The transparent device sharing works because of the memory addressing in PCIe, and PCIe cables beyond 100 meters is not practical due to latency requirements in the standard.

What you could do is, as a cloud service provider, build a cluster and then run virtual machines on various nodes in that cluster, and create dynamic hardware configurations for those machines on the fly and then your customer could rent compute power access and you could create custom configurations for them without actually having to take machines down, reconfigure them and bring them back online. Sort of like Rack-scale computers today, only more generic and working for remote machines.

Sucking dick at a retirement village

Community Manager for game devs and other big companies.

No I cant tell you who. The NDA fairy would cut my balls off.

Deliver parts for a BMW dealership.

I actually enjoy my job however I don't make alot of money so I do Uber on the side for extra income.

That's what I was speakimg about, only that I hadn't thought of massive scalability

Sounds really good.
Best of wishes, good luck and have fun with it; it sounds like it's a good idea, you just need proper timing and you're gold

Thanks user.

I do manual labor. im a convicted felon with a long record so theres not much out there

Guest service agent for timeshare/hotel

Have learned that you need to lie to people's faces to make them happy...hate the job.

What kind of manual labor? And what felon(s) were you convicted of?

Agg.Assult with firearm. And a new Charge of possession of firearm by convicted felon. and some drug charges. Im fucked user.

Warehouse.Lifting boxes

Security contractor.
Can be interesting, pay is hit or miss depending on the client.

What do youdo for work anons?
PhD student.

>Do you enjoy it?
Yes.
^^^ is a lie, clearly not working on a PHD. Probably still in highschool.

Follow the chain of posts if you don't believe me.

Awe, someone was a wittle wigger when they were a kid huh?

I did, and believe you even less now.

Does it take a toll on your back?

Okay, then.

i'm getting a CS degree. it's not about money. i have a free house, car, etc and free allowance for life. i like to program because it makes me powerful.

Inventory control in a company that distributes protein (beef, fish, lamb, pork, etc) to local supermarkets.
I have a love/hate thing for the job. But it's 15$/h with minimum 10h of overtime/week.

I run my own video production business.

It's good, I enjoy it.

any chance we get to see some of your paintings?

The only way you are working on a PHD and not wanting to kill yourself every day, you must be all of the following.
>very intelligent
>extreme patience
>mommy and daddy are floating 100% of the bill
And if those are happening, you will feel legitimately suicidal once you enter the real world, so good luck.

kek

>Work
Community youth center
> Do you enjoy
I love my job but hate my boss and some of my colleges, probably gonna quit due that sooner or later.

>very intelligent
Not really.

>extreme patience
Seeing how I went from an industry job back to do a PhD, I would say no on this as well.

>mommy and daddy are floating 100% of the bill
I earn 455k NOK a year, that's more than enough for me to pay all my bills and making payments on my mortgage and still eat comfortably.

I work in corporate IT for a trucking dealership. There's times that I hate it but there's times that I love it. Can't complain about pay because $50k/yr is pretty good in this area.

I thought PhD requires a dissertation?

I just got promoted to operations manager for Fedex Ground. I like it so far, I'm looking forward to the opportunity for full time.

In most of the world, thesis and dissertation are synonymous.

Nigga you retarded

> 25 an hour
> pays well

We have bad news for you, paint man....

working ?
why ?
-owning is easier
-meet real estate manager every fortnight
-weekly phone call to trader

Food photography for a restaurant parent company

I get to shoot food, then eat it. Most of our shoots are for short term promos so we don't alter the food much.

It's comfy work and the chefs are bros.

>What do you do for work anons?
PhD student with a few classes each semester.
Also working as a translator and admin the university website.

>Do you enjoy it?
Very much so but sometimes I feel like I bit off more than I can chew.

sounds cash man!

This might be the most random thing I've ever read in Sup Forums - actual coherent tech discussion with supportive replies.

Up your game, faggots.

forensic accounting. it's ok. pay is competitive. lots of spreadsheets. good job if you prefer to work alone mostly.

>What do youdo for work anons?
Teacher, Tutor, Handyman

>Do you enjoy it?
Shitty bureaucracy interferes with pursuing depth in topics the kids show interest in, or ask about. Literally having to tell a kid 'we don't have time to talk about who invented vaccines and why they're good for us' fucking sucks and makes the world worse.

Tutoring is great. one hour, one subject, twice my teaching hourly, or more for anything after geometry.

Handyman. Working with my hands, talking to adults or no one, and only for people who already know my reputation and skill? for good money? fuck yeah.

>NEET
>Absolutely hate it
>Will probably spend the next year isolated and unemployed due to bad circumstances

fucking tax sponge, go get a job or an hero. World shouldn't have to carry your lazy selfish ass.

Software developer. Been enjoying it all my life and get paid well for it. Most of the people I work with are cool, and there are more who know what they're doing than not which makes the job way more tolerable.

I live in a blue state in the US.

I work in order to pay the red states' welfare and subsidies.

They're socialists, and they don't know it because they're retarded.

Genuinely sell propane and propane accessories.

It's alright. Means to an end til I get off this rock.

GOP passes the largest socialist tax bill in US history
>republicans still call democrats socialists?

KEK you gotta remember who's in the GOP, and who lives in the Midwest and south (pic related)

...

>willingly living in liberal hell

>train operator
>it's okay i guess, never use the horn though
>i fucking hate it, i wish i could be something else

Why are you not using the horn, user?

What do you actually do though?

>being fat, having diabeetus, letting cops kill him, going to private prisons, trailer parks, meth labs, welfare

yeah you're poor. you'll never know what it's like to own an exotic car, a yacht, multiple homes. you're laboring filth. grab your shine box, pederast.

Marine Meteorologist
$40,000 per year
New York

Barely getting by. NY is too expensive.

my family's been investing for generations. I travel and enjoy life.

and now I donate to my own PAC, because I hate your kind and I want you gone.

I'm stuck coding at a health insurance Co. Nobody here cares about industry standards and I'm not learning any marketable skills. Any advice for getting out and landing a new job?

Aerospace Engineer currently working on structural composites for a military program that is totally NOT the B-21. Work is challenging and fun but I work a lot. 55 to 60 hour weeks this year likely to continue for most of next year. Making SHITLOADS of money from the overtime which is nice but it's pretty exhausting so I haven't had much time to enjoy all that extra cash. Payed off all of my student loans and my motorcycle though.

>What do you do for work anons?
I mostly people watch with the off chance of selling fuel to them from an 8x10 box
>Do you enjoy it?
It isn't so bad on certain days, but on some, I'd rather be in a different 8x10 box.

*I LARP on Sup Forums

>I work by which I mean I don't work in my state I never visit because I'm traveling.

Yeah, you're real believable.

Embarrassed for you m8

...that PAC seems to be successful. hope you didn't drop too much into it.

that you think being wealthy is so far-fetched indicates that you'll never be wealthy, and that you've never known wealth.

you're simple-minded, typical republican filth. I mean to purge the world of your kind.

watch the results in 2018 and 2020.

shame I audit your money.

First confirm whether you're stuck with a non-compete (if you don't know, assume you are). Assuming coding means programming and not "medical coding," think about what you like to program, then go on job search sites like maybe Dice or Stack Overflow to see if there's anything near you that you are at least 90% sure is better than your current job with a comparable salary. Then spend a few weeks on and off the leetcode website to shore up your code and interview question acumen.

I am waiting for your response though.

no. you don't.

watch the results in 2018 and 2020.

You're a terrible shitposter. You posted something inflammatory, Attacked the first person who responded (Who never said he wasn't a liberal, just asked what you did) and just continue your edgy larp. You should really take some pointers, champ. Or hell why don't you take some timestamped pictures of your mansion or let me guess you have some half assed excuse for that.

stop. the poster is "traveling".

Not him but I used to get a scholarship during my time as a PhD student.
Probably due to the fact that I didn't waste time and started working on my thesis as soon as I graduated my MA.

I'm going to ask you one time to shut up.

My friend is a Moderator here. You get the idea.

Now fuck off, trash!

Just trying to help the kid out. If nobody ever calls you out you'll never be any good at shitposting.

Troll detected.

 haha

I am paid a stipend now, though. I worked full-time during my masters (in order to support myself) and left the job six months after I graduated to do a PhD. Also, I would call getting work experience "wasting time",.

What canvas artist do you know that gets paid by the hour?

That was pretty obvious from the beginning.

teehee let's work together because we just got black'd alone! i'll pretend I'm two people!

>I don't believe wealth exists in America! I've never seen it, and since I'm poverty-ridden, no one can possibly have succeeded and be worth millions!! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh they're trolling us republicans mommyyyyyy

I wasn't referring to working as wasting time.
I've been working throughout my higher education.

I had set myself a goal and followed a plan without taking a break from studying (to work, travel or do anything else). That's what I meant by wasting time.
