IRC still exists. I use it every week.
irc.irchighway.net was my old stomping grounds.

Yes.

I installed (and uninstalled) it just a bit ago, still has the same bugs it had 20 years ago
wtf its irc, i still use it frequently as others do.
I thought the cp chans had dried up?
p2p is great in irc.
IRC is still used by codemonkeys & more.
You're not alone not knowing though. Had an odd moment explaining my old professor that IRC is still a thing and that it's the only place you can get live expert developer advice in some cases cause driver devs hang arround on channels there. He believed it dead himself despite teaching computer engineering.
I lived on irc in the 90s but its been 15yrs easy, doubt I could remember many of the commands
I hate the fags who are starting to migrate to discord now.
is mIRC the client everyone uses?
convenience beats quality for the mass market. They packed several wellliked programs into one and won on convenience thereby.
Personally didn't like it much either cause i had lots of issues with people not connecting correctly and you got to wonder what's the deal with them when they offer it for "free".
No idea of the distribution of clients but mirc is still alive and updated.
...
Also terrible bandwidth utilization and overly centralized. These convenient faggots will suffer when they get their insecure shit shut down.
I remember the prodigy nigger hawking it on tv
any Hotline faggots on here?
Around 1991 I think, my computer cost 2600 and had a huge hard drive, 100mb. Everyone was asking why I got such a huge drive. Forget the other specs, dial up modem. I actually got a lot of work done on that thing without the distraction of the internet like today. I would meet people on that thing though, one guy sent me a tape of a band that was getting big in his area of Seattle, it was Nirvana. Would look up movies and I think that's about it.
remember buying a 1gig hd and it was a huge extravagance, figured I would never run out of space.
then bought one of the 1st cd burners a 1x hp for like $800 1st kid on the block to get one
I used to burn CDs 10 bucks a cd bring your own cd. I think I sold more copies of warcraft2 that local shit computer store.
Yeah it's crazy how fast technology accelerates and how much power we have at our fingertips these days. A few years or so after that computer I got webtv and it came with a sort of phonebook with websites. Later I got a compaq from costco that had a 1ghz processor which was the fastest at the time... there was a cool site I would download music from called audiogalaxy, which was later a really awesome android app since you could access your entire music collection which is 2tb's in my case. Now cheap phones blow all that stuff away.
There I met a crazy whore from another city on 2012, after months sexting and webcamturbating we finally got laid. She got pregnant with her bf and end of story.
IRC is awesome and dangerous.
normie shit, we are talking about shit that kids did not use.
It took awhile for a lot of people to even believe you could burn a cd, thought I was making some crazy shit up
