> recovering alcoholic > 15 days sober > no friends (drove them away with drunk spergouts over the years) > watching different new years eve things on the news > alone > have a twelve-pack of beer in my basement
You have an idea of how desparate I am right now. Give me a reason not to get drunk tonight.

Because

You're going to do it anyways. Might as well get it over with. That's two hours closer to being sober again if you start now instead of later.
Dominic Baker
Just go get laid instead
Christopher Stewart
I can't think of a reason not to
David Watson
Don't keep alcohol in your house if you hope to recover. If you really don't want to drink, throw it in a dumpster
Zachary Martin
idk, alcohol hasn't made your life any better, just get rid of the alcohol from your house

Jacob Morales
> just go get laid
Actually not a terrible idea... but I'd have to go to a bar or a club in town.
I dunno...
You're right. I should probably dump it out.

I've been getting drunk every night for the last 7 years, my wife of 4 years decided to leave me for another man, after pleading she's decided to stay and work on this if I can stop drinking so much, last night she stayed home and I managed to only drink 4 12oz weak beers over the course of 4 hours, went to bed miserable and could barely sleep, planned to do the same tonight.
She's not home tonight, she's staying at his house instead, she said she might come home though, but she hasn't said a word in over 4 hours.
Luke Ramirez
> alcohol hasn't made your life any better
that's what keeps me sober tbh.
> alcohol ruins my life > oh better let alcohol ruin it more
Shit man... stay strong.
Lincoln James
is getting drunk gonna solve your problems? think about it
Jordan Morgan
You should kick her out so you can drink yourself to the morgue in peace
Colton Myers
I'm not an alcoholic (so I know this situation is different) but I was a fairly heavy drinker. I had to stop because I went on medication that reacts with alcohol. And while it sucked at first (mostly being bored) it feels SOOOO much better long term. None of the "mildly hung over" feelings, I feel more energetic and optimistic, I have more cash in my wallet and I think straighter and I hardly ever feel ashamed about something I did some night.
I know it's harder for alcoholics to quit but I'll tell you, there are rewards on the other side of that hill you gotta climb.
Elijah Roberts
No it isn't... I'm aware of this. I feel pretty shitty right now, though.
Hunter Perry
Oh no user don't do it or do if. If you really want to get sober you have to quit using alcohol as your safety net. I realize having it on you is very comforting but at the same time thats shitty motivation. You already want to change so why have a high risk situation waiting to happen.
Gavin Mitchell
Keeping the beer in the basement or not keeping the beer in the basement isn't the point, or the issue. If you want to stop drinking you will...the beer in the basement will just make you question if in fact that is the right decision. The longer you resist is the mark you can set for yourself the next time you decide to quit (whether you decide to resist tonight? Well, that just adds on one more day for tomorrow). It's like trying to quit smoking. Whether they're in the house or not there's always a new pack waiting for you at the convenience store. It's not like we need to make a major effort in order to procure what will kill us in the end. You want to quit drinking? Do it. Keep trying. Get past the failures.
Camden Lee
are you taking any medications for the withdrawals?
Landon Hall
Because you will hate yourself in the morning. Future you will be extremely sad and disappointed in past you, don't be a dick to future you and make him proud instead.
Cooper Phillips
You have a really good point. I'm actually going to explain to you guys why I have it and why I feel particularly shitty tonight.
> haven't talked to friends in a while > make group chat on facebook, add them > "hey guys let's get together and have a barbecque" > most of them are pretty on board, we start making plans > this was roughly a month ago > barbecque scheduled for yesterday > coincidentally the day I would have two weeks sober > they're not aware I'm not drinking anymore but they're all on board for the barbecque, I'm feeling great and positive. > two people show up > quietly eat burgers together > play mortal kombat > they leave after a few hours > my best friend since eighth grade flaked, he said he "had some obligations today but I'll try to make it". > also told me the other guys in the group had "made some of their own plans but they might swing by" > two hours to midnight (west coast fag) > no word from any of them > I know they're out having fun
It feels really bad, I really thought I had a shot at repairing my relationship with them.
I'm past the withdrawals.
Brayden Butler
Im 35 days sober. Sat inside today and jerked off. Dont be a pussy, dont drink, go to a meeting. Literally 1 day at a time
Christopher Gonzalez
> go to a meeting I actually have a directory of meetings in my area. I'm gonna start going to meetings in the new year.
Jayden Reyes
feeling lonely is the worst, its what actually triggering you to drink again.
Joseph James
You're gonna keep drinking and buying twelve packs if you drink these.
