Tron: Legacy is kino.
Tron: Legacy is kino
The last respectable Disney movie.
Quorra is my waifu
Daily reminder that this franchise was killed in favor of awful, pandering capeshit.
don't
remind
me
>damon lindelof ruined Tomorrowland and Disney shelves the Tron franshise because of it
Are the Tron movies good?
Should I watch them?
Please respond
The franchise was killed because lindelof can't write.
.......There was like a 20 year gap between the movies, hardly constitutes a "franchise" as classic as Tron is.
tron legacy was pretty horrible though. Subsequent movies were going to be worse, not better. also no one watched tron uprising
Legacy is good, but god tier if you have a nice surround sound system with a 4k tv.
It's one of the few movies that makes 3d worth it
there are no native 4k releases of tron legacy. The movie was mastered in 1080p
What if I don't give a shit about special effects
4k, 3d, and surround sound don't make garret hedlund a good actor.
the pain
Why are you still alive grandpa?
I'm watching Matlock re-runs right now
Fight me you little faggot
>also no one watched tron uprising
And that is a fucking travesty.
Uprising made Legacy 100x better on subsequent viewings, there are a LOT of little details that I previously thought didn't mean anything but after watching Uprising realized they were important.
Also Uprising was really damn good.
>tfw you will never make your waifu real
Back off faggot she's with me
How to get a qt gf like this?
look like this
where were you earlier when I claimed her :^)
The soundtrack is the best thing about it.
that is all
Step aside
Lindleoff had shit to do with this.
Are you dumb?
>Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz Screenplay
>imdb - LOST LOST LOST LOST LOST
TRON Legacy is criminally underrated.
A visual masterpiece that can be considered the greatest music video of all time.
Don't get me wrong tho, the movie is definitely style over substance but the style and music coke perfectly together
TRON uprising was pretty great too. Definitely in my list of favorite cartoons of all time.
Wish they kept the freedom fighter/terrorist theme in legacy.
It's a shame that Disney gave up on this franchise
If this is still on the air, Uprising should be as well.
unfortunately Tron Uprising got poor ratings and it was expensive to produce
Are Tron videogames any good? I have no idea and no I won't ask on Sup Forumseddit. I just want more Tron
It got poor ratings because it got 0 advertisement / promotion, was put on a random hiatus right before Dyson, and shoved to the midnight death slot soon after.
SOMEONE high up at Disney wanted it dead. And if I ever meet this person,
God help them.
I downloaded Tron Evolution cause it was free on xbox live and it was not good
Tron 2.0 is good but follows it's own timeline and not Legacy.
The Tron worlds in Kingdom Hearts are neat.
Tron RUN/r is good if you like endless runners.
Evolution is meh, but fleshes out the story more, which is always good.
Thats fair. I have a 4k tv and a blueray upscaler to 4k.
I know its not the exact same, but you get my point
thanks. I'll check 2.0 then
True, but the movie is senses candy, far from terrible, and has an engaging plot.
That being said, if I didnt have my setup, I probably never would have watched it
lindelof crashing a burning tomorrowland made disney think people didn't want science fiction, instead of thinking people don't want damon lindelof.
the engaging parts are all outside the movie's narrative. The ISOs, the shit that happened over the 2 decade between movies, rinzler/tron, flynn and clu, etc.
The movie's actual narrative is shit silly and shit.
alternatively you could just pop some mollies and close your eyes and put on those huge $900 headphones and listen to your DOOF DOOF without having a film attached to it at all.
but you'd be missing out of Olivia Wilde ass.
That is the problem when you confine your most popular franchise to the shit channel no one watches ever
Took me forever just to even pirate that shit
>exit_bag.jpg
I don't know why I'm still here even. ICANTFEELANYTHING
ya dun goofed
legacy would've been better without any dialogue and just the DOOF DOOF moosik
I don't know which one of you faggots made this shit, but I spam it every god damn day and now my friends hate me.
Thank you.
it probably wasnt driving enough toy sales. the networked doesnt want to be saddled with an expensive cartoon that isnt moving product at toy stores
they didn't fucking _make_ any uprising toys
again, someone at disney had it out for the people involved in this show and that's really, really sad.
give me a Beck statue and I'll pay $300 for that shit
then they probably just wanted it out of the way. the movie it was based on didnt do as well as hoped at the box office and the cartoon was a dead end due to being part of a defunct franchise, even if it got good ratings. better to shove it out of the way so that new toons with better downstream marketing opportunities could take its place
>remember being confused when it went on hiatus and no announcements on it coming back
>suddenly this drops at comic con
youtube.com
It made me think this series had a solid place at Disney XD and would live for a healthy amount of time.
I was so wrong and it still hurts.
it hurts too much
literally perfect
I will argue that John Wick is a superior music video, although the visuals are less creative.
john wick also doesn't have nearly extensive of a lore
Am I the only one that thought Tron Legacy was just pure shit? I like the first Tron because it has this fun, campy vibe to it. Legacy is dour and boring by comparison, and all the acting is wooden. Even Bridges, who looks like he just showed up for the check.
It's pretty, and some tracks on the score are good, but as a movie I found it unbearable.
The Tron 2 teaser was more enjoyable youtu.be
>I like the first Tron because [i liked it]
...
I would kill for a new tron movie. Its the only movie I can watch over and over again.
I never watched the originals but I watch Legacy every year around this time because I love it so much.
Hell, I even saw it 3 times in the theater when it first came out.
The overall story was a bit bland but the atmosphere and OST were pure kino imo. Its the only movie OST that I bought and listen to regularly.
Im somewhat glad they didn't pump one out every year since I'd rather have the memory of Legacy be a good one time flick instead of some annual half ass cash grab. I feel like a dark approach to the series (Dark Knight-esque) would do it justice for older fans but thats probably not gonna happen since its owned by Disney now.
except Bridges has stated on multiple occasions he loved working on Legacy and when it was over he was quoted on "give me the script for 3!!"
>except Bridges has stated on multiple occasions he loved working on Legacy and when it was over he was quoted on "give me the script for 3!!"
He believes marketing! KEK!
I didn't particularly like it either, in as much as the whole concept of the computer world was fucked over so they could keep everything the same instead of exploring how man's relationship with computers has changed.
Tron was written with the idea that programs were these unique things that people interacted with, and the "games" were reminiscent of classics like Surround and Tank. These days, games are far more complex, and you interact more with devices than individual programs.
I just don't get Disney. They made so much money off of merchandising and the Tron stuff was a hit at the parks, between ElecTRONica at California Adventure and now the new Tron attraction at Shanghai Disneyland.
They're just sitting on this and neither Jeff Bridges or Bruce Boxleitner are going to be alive forever. Tomorrowland's failure shouldn't have had anything to do with it, so I don't understand the retard logic being made by whoever is in charge of this at Disney.
To hazard a guess:
Tron: Legacy was too far away from being "true" disney content that they wished to dissociate from it. Especially when everywhere Legacy pointed for as a sequel was further away from what Disney likes to have their name on.
Same reason Disney made Touchstone pictures a bit after The Black Hole was released.
Except Tron was too big a property (second guess here) for Disney to want a subsidiary holding and making movies with. Same reason Disney but their name on TFA, they don't want Touchstone or others getting the credit for it. They want their name on it.
So they put it on the back burner while everyone forgets about Legacy and they can have a go at a third semi-reboot with a more family-friendly tone.
Tron was always Disney.
but it was shit
