plastic ideas>leaves
leaves just drags on too much imo, but maybe I just dont get it
>not fake train
Jesus fucking Christ this album is so good.
Because NPI is better.
New Plastic Ideas for me, too. Hands down. Bangers all the way through. Hexenzene, Fiction Friction being my favs.
I posted probably over a dozen albums in that last huge post hardcore thread, but somehow forgot to put this. A gross oversight.
Also forgot this, which came out the same year as PoP.
These guys were great live. 3 guitar wall of sound.
great guitar tone on this one
especially bang yer head. feels good man.
Maybe you should listen to Disintegration-era The Cure. It surprised me how similar the gutars sound.

Its actually Hexenzsene.
I think Leaves Turn Inside You is better, but New Plastic Ideas is so fucking overlooked. Not a bad song on it, great everything. Fiction Friction is a crazy closer. I have no idea how they wrote those songs, or the songs on Leaves. The guitar playing is so idiosyncratic. It's like Neil Young on DXM.
New Plastic Idea is a masterpiece, one of the most consistent albums ever

NPI > Leaves >>> Repeater > Argument, all great albums, though.
However, pic related is the greatest post-hardcore album. I also would recommend their other works which aren't absolute masterpieces like Wrong, but are still great.
