Does Sup Forums like Blur?

>not as noisy or pretentious as radiohead
>superior musical range to oasis
britpop is arguably the greatest British music movement of all time. so why doesnt Sup Forums talk about blur more often?

I like blur

Britpop is garbage compared to what rave(specifically The Prodigy) was doing. Any thing these britpop queers were doing sounded ancient when compared to Liam was doing and was actually innovative

A lot of those bands in the 90's were so up their own arses.

im listening to parklife right now

Liam is a literal coon

blur is a very underrated band

they did stuff like this: youtube.com/watch?v=i9CTxGGyU2U

but also like this: youtube.com/watch?v=_zDNv8HTecw

not to mention this: youtube.com/watch?v=BrbxWOMpwfs

and invented britpop with this: youtube.com/watch?v=XV8CxSO5imQ

Graham Coxon is also a great guitarist

That's why they were better.
People are so tame lately.

Prodigy were great up until fat of the land.
Then all the mainstream big beat/ breakbeat/ breakbeat hardcore artists kinda stopped their thing.

I heard something with a big beat for the first time in years the other day, miss those stupid breaks.

Because they have one good song

>arguably the greatest British music movement of all time
Sure, if this lad called Aphex Twin was never born

a lot of albarns gorillaz ideas were already tried with blur (listen to think tank)

parklife, great escape, modern life is rubbish and 13 are all bonafide classics.

damon is a qt

>britpop is arguably the greatest British music movement of all time
I mean, I guess you could argue that. You can argue anything. But this would be a very bad argument.

Poor taste in dance music.

Brit pop was only ever great in the 80s. 90s brit pop was fucking cancer the moment they traded in the synthesizers.

Don't forget these

Unironically my favourite band of alltime

They only have that woohoo song and they didn't even bother to name it

>post-Blur
>Damon Albarn decides to make a shitty self-insert OC and a "band" around it, original band effectively meh

>post-Oasis
>muh brotherly feud

>post-Suede
>Brett Anderson reforms the band and still is bloody hot

Suede is the true GOAT of britpop

If Blur was so good, why did Jamie Hewlett do a comic on the true GOAT, Pulp, instead of them?

pulpwiki.net/Pulp/CommonPeopleComic

Literally who cares about these guys. One hit wonders at best just like Oasis. Completely irrelevant. WOO HOO DUDE GRUNGE LMAO

Britpop is actually the worst thing to ever happen to British music.

Aphex was born in Limerick in Ireland.

He grew up in Cornwall you tit, it's not like him spending a few months in Ireland when he was born shaped his life and how he creates music in any meaningful way

Mansun was the only good britpop band with any sort of ambition whatsoever

yeah, and Nick Drake is Myanmar too

Sad!

The best Blur album is their greatest hits

>Pulp
>The Divine Comedy
>Manic Street Preachers

>Gorillaz

oasis

I don't understand why people act as if blur are purely a britpop band when they've only got 3 britpop albums compared to 5 albums that aren't.
'

wrong, their singles are usually their worst desu.

wrong

You're right, Song 2 is actually pretty shit

You blatantly haven't listened to their discography so i don't give a shit about your opinion man. It's fine if you just don't like them, but trashing a band i know you haven't listened to other than a few singles is just dumb.

I feel like Yuko And Hiro is in their top 10 most underrated. blur non singles are some of the most underrated tracks in existence,

Forgot to link song
>Yuko And Hiro
youtube.com/watch?v=f1Sl5Af0g5U

It's pretty cool how The Great Escape is kind of a concept album if you read into it, It's about Damon Albarn disconnect with fame and his lifestyle. He's the charmless man, even yuko and hiro is about him and Justine Frichman

Because this is not a British based website u turd

Come back when the British do something interesting for once

>Not as noisy as radiohead
Have you even heard songs like Oily Water, 1992, Chinese Bombs,Globe Alone and Advert. Noisy as fuck my nigga

WOO HOO

>implying you can't talk about anything other than American based bands/artists
Are you actually retarded?

uhhh yeah, put a fuckin bullet in your head kid

This. Their new album was great too

Blur are great and very underrated, but you're lying to yourself if you say they're better than Oasis.

...

Both of these opinions are bad.

Blur sucks, Oasis sucks harder.

t. guy who hasn't listened to blur other than a few singles.

I listened to that album with the dogs racing on the cover

WOO HOO

>every fucking 00s cinema had this song playing in ads

Although i think the albums good and is their most known, it's not really representative of their discography as a whole.

Modern Life is good?

Beetlebum was underrated, given that Blur came out the same year as OK Computer, and the codas are strikingly similar. What’s overlooked is Blur’s alternative rock ventures influenced by Beck, Pavement, Sonic Youth, and more. Their “weird shit” as Pitchfork put it, was awesome.
