he's got a few
last year he did this ARG-type shit where he claimed to be influenced by a super-obscure mid-90s synthpunk/indusmetal band called "kaoss edge" that came up with a genre called "hypergrunge" that's basically fucked-up glitched guitar pro tabs of half-finished riffs. He made a whole fake geocities website for it with shitloads of super-edgy visuals and fanfic-tier bio entries that make no sense.

And then when he released his album it sounded like the same shit as usual

...

haha, didn't know that. Glad he has a sense of humor though. I don't like his music, it seems like a lame repackaging of some really unimaginative ideas lifted directly from academic computer music but sold as new and exciting to an audience who isn't aware of that world. Assumed he would be selling himself as some kind of high art.

yeah, but the sad thing is that the couple of tracks he made for that fake band actually sound cooler than his actual album.
Closest thing to a fully realized version of hypergrunge would be kinda glitchy digital hardcore like Machinegirl's latest album. Same aesthetics too.

Upbeat circuit bender chiptune hardcore.

blackened vaporwave

That's not really edgy though is it. Satan is hardly shocking in a broadly agnostic/secular society. I was thinking more along the lines of buyers market than generic edge.

"Politic"
Blackgaze
v a p o u r w a v e l m a o d a e l e a n i m e

I'm just saying, there's no fucking way this would be used as a BM album art, it just doesn't work aesthetically. And it doesn't convey the "yo this is real life shit mayne yo it's like snuff porn bruh" gimmick of Buyer's market either because it's clearly an idealized/glamorized depiction of plastic surgery rather than a repurposed document.

Ah
I missed the surgical implement. You're right it wouldn't fit. I would say its probably better suited to being the 3rd album of a lady singer where she complains about being objectified.

yeah some mildly edgy artpop stuff
