More of this "brand" of post punk?

More of this "brand" of post punk?

neo-male brand?

Those are two completely opposing sounds in post-punk

I also want this

I can recommend you listen to Television though, their guitar work is pretty close too interpol besides the solos. If The Chameleons are one half of TOTBL, Television's s/t is the other.

how about recing something then

New Model Army
Psychedelic Furs

What? How?
TOTBL's guitars come straight from The Chameleons
Yeah, Marquee Moon's pretty good
Although I do prefer The Chameleons
Will check out, thanks

As far as stuff that sounds like what you're looking for, try out The Prids- Until The World Is Beautiful

I mean some of their reverbial melodies are recognizant of The Chameleons' work but in overall sound the two are very different

This

to add to this guys list:
Wire - Pink Flag
This Heat - Deceit
Protomartyr - Under Color of Official Right

Also check out Unwound, The Clash, and some of The Rolling Stones

Damn, thanks for those!
Well what I meant was the atmospheric, lush guitars full of arpeggios and fast paced chords
>Wire - Pink Flag
I've been listening to this a ton lately, the song Champs is fantastic, will listen to the rest though

Also, what do you mean by The Rolling Stones? Im a huge fan of them and I can't think of anything that sounds like those bands

Best post punk album coming through

lowlife

He means arena post-punk.

in terms of post punk, interpol is a direct lineage and evolution of the chameleons sound. They take more influence from the chameleons than joy division, even.

The Joy Division comparison always felt like a stretch.
The only thing similar is Paul and Ian's voice.

josef k - the only fun in town

Interpol is more straight and the chameleons got all that reverb but they're still close if you look at the guitar riffs.
I still don't get why television always gets thrown in there, just listen to the guitar, it's closer to classic/glam rock than interpol

What the hell are people even recommending in this thread, here's some stuff thats actually similar
