U got me chaved, right in me knickers you do. Don't make me take of me evening gloves, I'll give ya right trashin' ya cheeky cunt.
They think they already have and what's worse people are peddling the watered down shit out these days as proper Grime.
bbc.co.uk
Christ this was a lot of shit.
This sort of thing wouldn't have ever broke into America.
youtube.com
It must sound even weirder with regional accents.

youtube.com
I hope not
yeah, they seem to call giggs a grime mc a lot as well which is also annoying
caught that earlier as well, load of shite
where abouts you from mate? you in a decent area for this sorta stuff?
Why is Grime coming back so strong lately?
I'm not from the UK, but I remember hearing "Grime is dead" all the time a few years ago.
This prompted me to Google for "Scottish grime"
I was not disappointed
youtube.com
Gonna look for Irish and Welsh grime next
By the way if people like Death Grips then they basically already like grime lol
another point as well, i feel like there's probably a market somewhere for instrumental grime over there, some of it can be pretty experimental and really weird as well
sometimes think it's quite surprising I don't ever see anything about it on here
i've said this for a while
youtube.com
this isn't strictly a grime tune but comes from a similar place, function by the bug & manga is more of a grimey tune off this album that's equally sick
Leicester. It has a Grime scene but I don't follow Grime as much as I used to. I don't know any MCs from my area other than Kamakaze but I think he's really good.
youtube.com
It was dead, like properly dead, a few years ago. I don't know why it's "back" but Skepta & Stormzy are probably to blame. Them aside, there really is some good Grime coming out recently so that's good.

People like YGG and Killa's Army have been stepping up the radio side of things as well.
It's pretty international already.

ah fair enough, i only really got into it just before the chip/bugzy beef which I think blasted it into the limelight over here deffo, there's a decent scene in manchester atm, always get a lot of decent mcs and djs coming through and Levelz are pretty good
Seen killa p a few times and caught him with irah last month, one of the best performances i've seen
also really rate kamakaze, that whole grime-a-side thing was pretty good, mez is another one on there that's mint
Possibly but I doubt they'd like old style instrumentals. Rabit's LP was on a US label and it sounds quite far removed for Grime. Sharp Veins is based in US and he also makes pretty weird sounding stuff.
youtube.com
I'm not actually sure if Rabit is American himself or not.
youtube.com
Manchester had some great Grime even while the rest of the country had nothing.
youtube.com
Shame the actual label isn't nearly this good.
Killa P has always been good and he somehow manages to get better with time which never happens.
youtube.com
Long Range is fucking mad, closest thing the modern day will get to Durrty Doogz before he changed his name and became shit forever.
this first tune is great, nice one for that
I know darq e freaker has produced for danny brown but thats about all i know about a not-hugely-mainstream crossover, and even then they were hardly grime
youtube.com
I feel like some of the instrumentals in this could have decent appeal, for example, even though they're pretty minimal they're more or less impossible to sit still to, the crackles n fizzing might put some people off it
>Welsh grime
youtube.com
levelz 1xtra set is pretty great, got a bit bored of them though really, lost count of how many times i've seen em and their live show is more or less the same every time
killa p is 100% one of my top mcs at the minute and I think irah is catching up
youtube.com
Not sure if you're into bassline but this set is mint
surprisingly not heard much of long ranger apart from that killas army/chimpo tune, i'll listen to this set at some point though
That first tune is the sort of Grime I'm not into, never like that Weightless stuff.
I don't know who he is but Denzel Curry is one a track from AJ Tracey's new album/mixtape/whatever it is. I know he's American but no idea if he's mainstream or not.
I think because 2step was not popular in America they might not like some of the Grime instrumentals which still follow that kind of pattern, but they don't make many tracks that sound like that now anyway so might not matter.
youtube.com
youtube.com
I get the impression that Americans really like Burial so they might not mind all the vinyl crackle as long as they are convinced it's sound design and not just really shitty rips of pirate radio.
Denzel Curry is from Florida. He's pretty popular but not exactly mainstream.
I love both of those Kade Bassline mixes with Killa P on them.
youtube.com
I like Bassline but I don't listen to loads of it apart from DJ Q. I wish I knew what the last tune in this set was.
That Chimpo x Killa's Army track is my favourite Grime track this year easily. Here's a set with Killa P and Long Range.
youtube.com
Killa P is meant to be releasing an album or something called Killing Time but he is notorious for never releasing shit on time so it'll be ages before we get it I bet.
What do you think of this?
youtube.com
I'm really into the majority of stuff this labels putting out atm, zha did a decent set with novelist on rinse tonight as well
oh yeah haha I've heard that tune as well, mind went blank, you might've heard Ultimate by him cos that blew up from vines and that sorta shit
Yeah you've got a point there, I think the point is it's supposed to sound like shitty rips of pirate radio though hahaha
youtube.com
I'm in the same boat as you with it, I like quite a lot of Kade's sets though, pretty consistently great. The Faultsz & Yizzy one is mint
youtube.com
Yeah I'll download that set nice one man, spoke to killa p after i saw him and he just said soon like every other mc says about anything ever, nice guy though
Yeah man I really like White Peach. It's almost exactly the sort of Grime I really like.
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
Yeaaaaaaah I like you man, the trends remix of the first tune is an absolute tune
Any new releases you're feeling?
youtube.com
Really feeling everything on this album at the minute, and it's not exactly "new" but manga's outbursts album is one of the best albums of the year for me
I would have never found that tune in a million years, cheers mate. Bassline is fucking impossible to find half the time. I'm surprised how quickly it became big and then just died, I remember when Bassline was first starting to become popular but I was solidly in my D&B phase then so I wasn't into it so much.
I'm sure he wil eventually release it, but then again I am still waiting for a Cemetary Warriors mixtape.
youtube.com
Although I suppose Killa's Army has sort of taken over so if they release a mixtape then that would be fine.
No worries man! There's quite a few bassline nights every now and then in Manchester, there was a massive night for it a couple of weeks ago with a mental lineup (pic related)
That Rapture 4D & Polonis album was great. I don't know if it's new or if it's a compilation of old release but Iron Soul - My Instrumentality Volume 1 was some of the best instrumentals I've heard in ages. I really liked the Pepper Pot Version Excursions from P Jam, particularly the Armour, Stush and Hitman Hyper ones, but again that's not properly new.
I'm glad Armour's back, he was always good, even during Nasty Crew's Garage days.
youtube.com
That is a massive line up. I'm assuming that DJ Phantasy is not the old school Hardcore/Jungle guy, he'd be out of place with the rest of them.
>Flirta D
Ah fuck me lad I would have been there had I know, especially since I don't live far from Manchester at all anymore.
youtube.com
God fuckin damn it, it look like he plays a lot of shows and does a lot of sets as of late, I know spooky has been doing a few sets up and down the country with him and I've seen a few other djs post stuff on Twitter with him, I'm not too fussed about missing out on EPs or mistakes when you get good lengthy sets as well either hahahaa
God fuckin damn it I love killa p man**** for some reason that didn't type
Yeah pretty sure it is you know but not sure, not hugely clued up on DnB or anything, im only a 20 Mon train journey away and I still didn't make it, I'm gutted though, too skint
KIlla P's basically been doing stuff non-stop since Topper Top, I respect the workrate.
Anyway it's nearly 3am so I'm going to bed. Leaving a link to my favourite set this year.

>Smoke weed till my eyes red like Sasuke
>Lyrical teeth, call me Kisame
Was creasing up at all the Naruto references in this set, YGG are too good.
