what are the best most progressive shugazi releases this year this chart has to trick people into thinking shugazi is all forward thinking in the year 2017
oh shit I forgot dots
...
what's missing please tell me
what's going on here
Can someone drop me a link to the album in the bottom right corner?
DKFM: 24/7 Shoegaze & Dreampop radio
It should be on the archive
I guess I meant like what in the hell do I type in to search for the band in the bottom right corner.
Hugo Largo - Drum EP (1987)
>dream pop but the more artsy kind
>Scaruffi-core, anti-Christgau-core
>Eno re-released the EP with two more tracks but I don't have em unfortunately

what's the warmest blanket of noise shoegaze you can think of
This for one. Good return to form for SPC ECO after all that Triphop they've been dabbling in.
Glad Bipolar Explorer is on the list. I recc'd it in this thread around January and glad to see they're getting attention. Still holding out on the new XO album coming later this year.

the chorus of this is so good
yeah im pretty sure i put it on there cause you mentioned it
im not even really into it desu but it's good to hear that it's well-recieved and that it belongs on the chart
added
how we doin
I've been digging Revolver recently. They're a bit Ride-lite but a few tracks stand out to me

holy fuck this is nice, thanks user
this or silver by starflyer 59 is the best shoegaze album ever.
fuck this sounds so much like what's all those hardcore-turned-shoegaze bands are coming out with not
talk about being fucking ahead of the curve
with now*
i need to get back on my shugazi shit, last album that I thought was really good from here was boxing 14-15
have you guys even found much else that's like unique sounding? i mean something that doesn't already feel familiar to you
a song this good deserves to be posted every thread so everyone knows it's a classic.
Did you even update it this time
not enough
this is what it looks like now though
listen to Astreal
litty
seconded
I get that the way those drums drag behind the rest of the music is supposed to accentuate how heavy it is, but man it's not working on this one.
not really
but that Boxing's really good right?
Yeah it's really good
speaking of Bardo Pond pic related came out this year and it's fantastic
never heard that comparison before
>why even have a vocalist when you can have a computer do the singing for you
youtube.com
i mean Antisocialites isn't shoegaze but several songs are JAMC worship, does it count?
my second favorite album this year after Antisocialites
oh yeah that's probably important to add
ill add the bardo pond thing too
>tfw you realize the bonus tracks on Nowhere are better than the album itself
did it
what album would you guys say is okay to replace
gotta get rid of all the not good stuff
I personally wouldn't bat an eye if Ersatz Window was replaced but a lot of people do enjoy it.
Cerebrotonia
I found the song structures and sound design on that to be very odd and cool
...
I think it may be better than The Battle Of Sealand
youtube.com
What do you guys think of this?
tidal is not an indie label
Didn't even know they were gonna release a new album. Damn, I'm hyped!
Sounds like they've turned up the reverb and the dreaminess and turned down the more indie rock elements.
Love it.
I hate to say this, but this was the biggest /shugazi/ disappointment of the year.
thing is,the release is today
the biggest surprise is that Sharron Apple is included here
Yeah I saw its realse is today. Wonder why they choose to include a 13 year old song?
probably because of the drums style. Also, the album feels huge.
If the 1st two tracks weren´t dense enough,Your Lips,My Mouth just takes the cake in that aspect.
I´ve just listened to the whole thing.
If you liked Winks and Kisses, for sure you will like this.
After 13 or 14 years, they are capable to blend drum heavy songs and soft but dense ballads.A very great comeback to the LP format.
Highlight for me are Cloudburst,Your Lips My Mouth,Song of You(watch out this one, because it´s really close to songs like 500 Deep) and You Sweet Talker.
Sharron Apple just sounds like a live version compared to the Melted EP version, there are no backing vocals here.
Overall very solid but it feels really long,at least, at first listen.
I think it's mostly ritenuto there but it certainly does fail sometimes... I still love it.
I found it from here

What should I listen to if I like slowdive, beach house and the more experimental side of cocteau twins?
Charts leave me dissatisfied, I get that I should steer towards the dream pop side, but honestly most dream pop sounds like samey muttercore, is there anything that stands out?
alisons halo
Reminder that Slowdive 2017 is average at best and only low standard, low IQ 18-24 year old art students like it.
cranes
>alison's halo
top tier
Seriously; there's a difference between singing like you're on dope all the time and mixing the vocals down in the mix but singing passionately.
It wasn't good
average iq 25 year old neet and i love it
Rec me more noise-pop perfection
youtube.com
hello
Reminder that your opinion is shit. Their st is easy the AOTY.
What a lazy band name, Iris is a beautiful word but surely there must be a couple of hundred bands with that name. But they sound fucking awesome
lit
why do people like the new slowdive
t. Anthony Fantano
Maybe because it's insanely good? Song after song offers a solid foundation of beautiful melodies and powerful rhythms. The songs vary the ebb and rivers of sound so efficiently that they almost cease to be sound and instead turn into physical manifestations of pure emotions.
I just discovered this from youtube recommendations: youtube.com
Nice dreamy Mac DeMarco vibe. I absolutely love it.
hitla
Sad everyone is kind of meh about it. Io Scenic A/B is my jam though.
is there a such a thing as chill noise/shoegaze?
>tfw i dont like slowdive
sorry guys
yeah check out Jefre Cantu-Ledesma
sound of ceres was always overrated
if you can't see it I feel sorry for you, pleb
I'm still looking for satanic shoegaze. Blackgaze welcomed at this point.
someone listen to this
Any anons have this to share / know w2c??? Getting over a cold and could use some comfy music.
>mfw the distortion kicks in on the first track of the New Airiel LP
Holy shit lads I love this band
Is this a question or an encouragement?
whatevers better
Fuck yeah Fog Lake
youtube.com
favorite song
he tends to be unoriginal though
...
buts thats not Blonder Tongue Audio Baton!
holy shit why has no one mentioned how good this is
heaven knows I've learned a thing or two with that band...
I thought they were a random band or snowflakes who took advantage of the Youtube algorhythm, but this record proves that they are fighting to stay relevant in the genre.
You guys like The December Sound right?
thedecembersound.bandcamp.com
huh I had no idea this existed
