Lots of people have suggested it's not as good as his earlier symphonies and it is possible even the composer thought the choral finale was a mistake.

Is Prokofiev the most overrated composer of his time?

Not even the most overrated composer of his own local contemporaries. That would be Shostakovich.

Silly sissy is Baroque and brutish troglodyte is Wagner/ high romantic?

What the fuck you retards talking about?

Harpsichords died for a reason, piano is just superior. There is no point in playing baroque music with harpsichords when a less monotonous clavier exists.

This. The piano is more pleasant to listen to, and takes years of intense practice to become proficient at.

Yeah, I gues it is is if you hate the entirety of the romantic period

I know you guys are just meming, but it blows me away that people actually think like this

Might wanna listen ta britten's suites. Doubt you'll think they are better, but they are still top notch

Not really. The piano was replaced by the electric guitar and both were replaced by synths and other sophisticated electronic instruments, changing the face of music forever.

Plus, if you think about it without prejudice, literally all classical and jazz are shit-tier. The exposition is the part that actually takes genius then the rest is filler at best, wankey at worst.

Can't believe it took the creation of popism to put an end to that junk.

In pop the whole song is supposed to be interesting. There's usually at least two great ideas, a verse and chorus. Or on the experimental end you have many interesting sections. In classical and jazz they just wank over the one or two good ideas they had at the start. Jazz is the worst for it since the development isn't even supposed to be good in itself, it's them trying to make up something good on the spot which is incredibly stupid since good stuff takes time and effort and doesn't come spontaneously.

Poptism saved music.

Literally.

>Not really. The piano was replaced by the electric guitar and both were replaced by synths and other sophisticated electronic instruments
maybe for radio pop music in the 80s, nowadays piano and guitar are both back in shitty pop - see Adele and Lana Del Rey.

None of the instruments you mentioned were ever really 'replaced' they just waxed and waned in popularity.

Poptism (isn't is supposed to be "poptimism"?) only applies to popular music, which is only 1/3rd of what music is (the other 2 3rds being classical and traditional music respectively)

>replying to pasta
