well alright
How's that MM album compared to their other stuff?
I've only heard GNFPWLBN and TM&A
Of which, I narrowly prefer the former, but like both.
the cure a shit
not really holding out hope that anybody else on Sup Forums has heard these, but it's worth a shot.
i haven't heard anything from DG since they did their little break up ruse, I think last thing I heard was NLDW. Am I missing out?
Here's mine.
Lonesome Crowded West is fantastic and one of my favorite indie rock albums, and TM&A is not far behind. I thought Long Drive wasn't as good but it might grow on me after listening to it more.
You should definitely listen to LCW btw
>Am I missing out?
the EP they released this year is pretty good, as is NOTM
Why the fuck are ya ranking singles?
Why were you listening to A Teletubbies album?
How good is Zappa? I'm not familiar with his work outside of "FREAK OUT!".
>Only one single there
Details are for robot dogs. Here's yours, sperg.
..................,
>Details are for robot dogs.
What?
Alright since the second "s" was too much I'll re ask.
Why did you rate a single?
Going through some Irish Metal (hence the Waylander demos and LP), Metal Enterprises catalog and Bound For Glory's latest release.
Although Metal Enterprises's horrible reputation precedes them, some of their albums were decent. Blowin' Free is one of them. Despite the production scraping the bottom of the barrel, the music's far from anything I'd call terrible. In fact, it's a solid '80s Metal album. Still, you'll be left yearning for so much more.
Waylander came to me courtesy of the Irish Metal Archives blog. The first couple demos were alright, but lagging in tempo and interesting ideas. Thankfully, the studio album which featured tooled up performances of these demo songs sound much better. Indeed, the album lived up to its name as Celtic Black Metal. Plenty fierce and even festive, but Cruachan's presentation is a little better.
Then I laid ears upon Bound For Glory's latest album. After all these years, the Aryan Brotherhood of musicians still has the chops to release a fine album. Unlike their thrashy predecessors, "Ironborn" seems to be more oriented towards back-to-basics Heavy Metal. And amazingly, it sounds even better than some of their Thrash albums. Make no mistake, some of it is still Thrash, but it doesn't sound stale or overwrought.
>How good is Zappa? I'm not familiar with his work outside of "FREAK OUT!".
If you ask me, "Hot Rats" is the pinnacle of his life's work. That whole album highlighted his talents as a composer.
this autism is beyond comprehension
So you're just not gonna answer the question? Alright.
>Kendrick Lamar
>Yeasayer
>Fred Frith
>Death Grips
>Radio-Sinfonie-Orchester Frankfurt
>Ari Rasilainen
>The Nat Adderley Sextet
>Joe Farrell
>Harold Land Quintet
>Recluse
>Soror dolorosa
>Poison Blood
>This Eternal Cold
>Donarhall
>...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead
>Paramore
>The Legendary Pink Dots
>Three Dog Night
Tell me all about these groups and musicians. What's good and bad? If you could pick two songs you'd readily recommend from these artists, which would they be?
i enjoy their music
Whose music?
>Kendrick Lamar
Famous west coast rapper, known for politically charged lyrics and his emergence on the scene as probably the biggest name in Hip Hop next to Kanye West.
>2 Songs to Rec
King Kunta
These Walls
>Yeasayer
I've only heard this one album of theirs, but they are a indie rock band with significant psychedelic influence and on this latest effort they went in a slightly more experimental direction (as far as indie rock goes) which while doesn't always work comes up with a handful of really good songs.
>2 Rec's
I am Chemistry & Silly Me
I'll answer that with another question: Why do you scrutinize me for rating a single when thousands do so every day?
>What?
For the love of God. Tails are for dogs, and De- means detachable parts (robots have modular structure). Learn some creativity, mate.
nat adderley is pretty good, he's often overshadowed by his brother but he made some really fun jazz
try this one:

>Three Dog Night
I've been listening through them because my grandmother got me the record Suitable for Framing as a gift and I've bought the rest ever since at flea markets. I'm currently listening to their album Hard Labor.
They specialize in Blue Eyed Soul, usually covers. My favorite albums of theirs so far is Suitable for Framing, and the least favorite is Naturally. I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it but I hear their last album before their breakup was awful because most of their band quit.
Two songs by them? Well aside from the obvious big hit "One":

I didn't scrutinize you. I just don't get why you or anyone rates singles.
Don't blame me for you making some weird unrelated simile.
...
>Famous west coast rapper, known for politically charged lyrics and his emergence on the scene as probably the biggest name in Hip Hop next to Kanye West.
Already, I don't like him. His name and Kanye's occupying the same sentence is a dealbreaker.
>Yeasayer
Just saw the music video for I Am Chemistry and can't say I'm impressed. Has all the trappings of "Indie Rock" made past the year 2000 (ie: stolen basslines from '80s Post-Punk drenched in suburban angst). The psychedelic, experiment sections aren't engaging and the vocalist is weak.
>Nat Adderley
Not much of a Jazz guy, but so far, so good. His music is pretty pleasant. Admittedly not a fan of the 12 Bar Blues, so those sections didn't go unnoticed.
>Blue Eyed Soul
Ehhhhhh. Some of it is okay, but a lot of it is cheesy.
As to those two songs, I like "Lady Samantha" so much better than "Your Song". Very smooth and psychedelic.
Probably gonna get drilled for these
What do you think of LCW? I agree with your rating of Long Drive, but I also think LCW is a 10/10 and it's one of my favorite albums of all time
>I also think LCW is a 10/10 and it's one of my favorite albums of all time
we pretty much agree then
>His name and Kanye's occupying the same sentence is a dealbreaker.
That seems like a silly reason to dislike someone.
Because if a song is worth my time, I'll rate it just as I would with an album.
And I meant to say scrub instead of sperg.
To each their own.
Kanye is one of my favorite artists period.
Kendrick isn't as good IMO, not bad, but I don't think he deserves how much critical success he gets, even though I think TPAB is a very good record.
And agree to disagree for Yeasayer I guess.
I can see why you would say that, but I really enjoy that song myself just because of it's uniqueness.
...
I agree with everything except one more time.
What the fuck.
Why do you dislike the song One More Time so much?
never really got the hype for Daydream Nation either
did One More Time kill your parents or something?
The song is really monotonous and repetitive
The vocals are annoying as shit (and that's coming from someone who doesn't mind the vocals on any other Daft Punk song)
The quiet section in the middle of the song is painful
Practically everyone loves this song for whatever reason, but I just don't like it at all
how many times did you listen to Asseduction before rating? I was kind of disappointed on first listen but it seems like it could be a grower
>Legendary Pink Dots
different user but I really love this band, check out their album The Maria Dimension. They're a very dark/spacey psychedelic/experimental rock band, huge and varied discography. Even if you don't normally like psych rock (I don't) I'd still heavily recommend giving them a try

just once, i'll definitely give it repeated listens because i do love St. Vincent, it just didn't really initially do anything for me
been on a new age binge. love this stuff.
got 29 cassettes in total to get through; I think I've done 13 so far
Thanks for posting my band, user. The Maria Dimension is my favorite Pink Dots album.
Get off the RYm site dumbasses. It's a waste of time and toxic.
it's much less toxic and time-wasting than Sup Forums
>one of DJ Screw'd best tapes rated that low
genuinely wondering what you thought of it, that's one of my favorite albums. what hip-hop *do* you like/rate highly?
Not really. It is way dumber.
I use it to keep a catalog of everything I've listened too so it's easier to revisit music I've enjoyed
Who cares why even listen to something twice?
Your bait was good, why ruin it by making it obvious?
What bait
I just think you're all idiots for using the site
maybe so if losing the anonymity of Sup Forums means people act like you
Then get a trip then instead of bitching doofus.

i cant believe i didnt listen to pet sounds before yesterday
Rating music is gay. It's literally the most subjective thing ever. What a waste of time, other than to show people how "patrish" you are
Damn why the half star for Sigur Ros?

Daydream Nation is accurate
>Is This It
1.5/5
>Spiritual Healing
at least a 4/5
Here are mine
>Free Fallin'
boresville
>You're Makin' Me High
nice groove
>Shakatak: Live 1985
absolute perfection
>Fergie: Love is Blind
decent song but fails to keep my attention
>Fergie: Love is Pain
better than Love is Blind
Forgot image
i'm really just bored of hip hop and found that tape kinda derivative and uneventful in my eyes. only hip hop release ive really loved in the past few years has been that Bedwetter ep for reference
that Sigur album was so painfully generic to me. it was a struggle to get through that which was surprising to me being i actually really liked Agaetis
Been a really good day for checking out new stuff
