I'm not a very good christen but I grew up in a religious household so I'll do my best to explain it the way I see it.

Christianity is all about trying to be as good of a neighbor as you can. It also states that there is a time for peace, and a time for war. Jews were peaceful for the most part(Yes I know they killed Jesus) and were easy to get along with(for the most part), they are the kind of people you turn the other cheek to as Jesus would say it.
