Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland - Black Is Beautiful. Try track 10 off that album

There are probably a ton of 80s Italian groups who answer these descriptions, but I can't name any for ya, sorry.

How does the syntheziser being analog differ the genre?

The sound is entirely different.

Kraftwerk.

i gravitate towards analog gear in all my music, but to claim that that you hear a discernable difference between good vst's and analog is just plain untrue. people who use analog gesr tend to make the type of music we associate with analog gear though, and many people using digital gear aren't trying to replicate the analog sounds.

I was comparing analog to digital, I didn't honestly think OP was thinking of shit made now where people pointlessly emulate the limitations of analog synths with VSTs, but they can count too. I assumed OP was asking about old records - why would anyone be making "synth-rock" with their laptop in 2017?

Maserati
Zombi (or is it Zomby?)

all the 70s electronic shit was pretty much progressive analog synthpop

john maus stuff is not progressive at all
its just riff based stuff with monotone repetitive lyrics

Yes.

So I grew up on Emerson, Lake and Palmer (stoner biz dad) and I've yet to check out Emerson's solo work and my god is it awesome.
Is this album cover offensive or just awesome?
