What was the message behind the matrix?

what was the message behind the matrix?
was mr.smith actually the evil guy?

I've only seen the first film and I loved it. Are the next two worth watching?

No. He was actually the One stupid.

mr.smith was the one, created by the oracle.

The message was that the wachowskis stole a bunch of meaningless pseudophilosphy because they're a couple of talentless hacks.

Something something virtual reality universe leather fetish trannies.

It also gave us a redpill/bluepill metaphor that has been strained and bent and twisted more times than that kids toy of yours that turned white at the flex point

Mr Smith was Satan and Neo was Christ reborn
In the end he sacrifices himself for all mankind
The movie was an analogy of the bible

yes but sometimes it gets a little bit far-fetched

The underlying message was about the sexual tension of the wachowski traps

>was mr.smith actually the evil guy?
mr smith was the good guy. neo was a terrorist.

Well the first one was the first mainstream look into existentialism. How to know what's real, what's not, etc.

Then they stretch one film into two to make a trilogy. It's ultimately about breaking the cycle of the Matrix. The architect revealed that the rinse/repeat cycle had been going on a while.

It starts as a really interesting concept film, but then got jewed into the good ole machines bad, humans good trope. Like terminator wasn't enough.

The trilogy ended in comprises, so nobody really one. Humans were allowed to be "free," but the Matrix lives on.

So who the fuck knows

Well they never hid the fact it was essentially a live action interpretation of ghost in the shell.

No, they're shit.
Series went full sjw shitshow.

Mr. Smith was Lucifer, he fell from grace and became his own Architect.

He made his own rules, he became a hive mind to take over.

As it was so shall it be.

And as Neo sacrificed himself so shall he be.

Agent Smith is what happens when you don't ask for the redpill and then can't do jack shit about it because unlike fleshniggers, you can't unplug so you lose your shit and become a generic Satan stand-in.

If you take the blue pill you get to be a girl

No they suck

is Sup Forums a real life version of mr.smith?

>collective hivemind thoughts

>we know the truth

>most of us are the same or have the same ideas

>we are portrayed as the bad guys

Mr. Smith was written as the character who thinks humans are a virus then literally becomes a virus.

he's the antagonist who is evil by design. he was created to oppose humanity, and this helps the continuation of the matrix cycle. there's no point to his existence besides being against humans since he was programmed explicitly in this way.

>We

Go away

The message was robots are gonna take over and enslave us all as batteries.

Mr. Smith wasn't a guy he was a program gone rouge like a virus. He was deleting all other files and installing himself in their place.

Now as far as evil thats hard to say. Can a computer program be evil? It would have to have morals. I doubt they computer program would differentiate right vs wrong and would do what it thought was best for the greater good regardless of what it had to do.

The way the architect revealed that neo had tried several times already (along with oracle saying the next neo will actually end the matrix or w/e) implied, at least to me that the series is open to a continuation with the last neo finishing the job.

Why the fuck do ya'll keep calling him mr smith he aint going to washington.

anderson was penis neo was vagna

The movie's message (and mgs2's message) is that an omnipresent machine/system has such a strong grip on all human life and yet must remain as there is no alternative other than immediate destruction of life.

Someone on /r9k/ a year ago said they were involved in the making of the Matrix and talked with the writers. IIRC ,the true ending was supposed to go something like
>Neo's powers begin to manifest outside the matrix which foreshadows that the world outside the matrix is fake as well
They already filmed several scenes where Neo uses his mind to destroy sentinels outside the matrix. They didn't want to waste budget so they left these scenes in but didn't really emphasize or expand on this idea in the movie.
>Neo travels to the machine city to stop the invasion of Zion
>Neo agrees to stop Mr. Smith for the machines if they stop their invasion
>After they fight a bit, Mr. Smith and Neo have some sort of existential, philosophical conversation about how the world of the machines and Zion is just as fake as the matrix
>Neo leaves Mr. Smith in the matrix
>Neo tells the machine hivemind that he failed to stop Mr. Smith
>machines flood Zion and kill all the humans
>Mr. Smith infects the machine hivemind through the matrix, destroys all the machines and himself along with the matrix
>the infinite cycle of the matrix is over (the architect talks about this, the matrix has gone through several resets before or something)
>the infinite cycle of war between machines and humans is over
>Neo ascends/awakens to a higher plane of existence or something

Can't find it in the archives but ye. They settled on a different ending because they didn't think people would understand it.
