THIS IS MY FIRST TIME STARTING A SHARETHREAD, BE GENTLE edition ETIQUETTE - Include correct format (artist / band, title of release, year of release, cover art, the file type (v0, 320 mp3, FLAC, etc), short description, YouTube sample, link) - Send thanks if you have downloaded something to let them know they did a good thing - Avoid sharing / requesting things that are already on the archive - Soulseek / rutracker are your friends, too - just don't argue in this thread about it
REQUESTS >I have a request! Did I... - Check the archive for a live link before requesting? - Share something first? - Google "blogspot + artist name + album name"
ARCHIVE >"I don't know how to find what I'm looking for in the archive" - Go here: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/ - When searching, limit your search to links only, like so: "desired album mega|zippyshare|mediafire" - Make sure you've typed "zippyshare" and not "zippy", or else Zippyshare links will not be found.
What does Sup Forums think of The Unicorns, apart from having very homosexual name and album cover?

James Brown and the Famous Flames - Live at the Apollo (1963)
>The Godfather of Soul drops one of the greatest live albums ever recorded >The instrumentation is impeccable, James Brown croons, whispers, and screams across the whole LP, and the crowd is super fun
Requesting Ultraviolence by Lana Del Rey also anyone got The Ooz up yet?
Chase Davis
A couple more, then I'm gonna take a break for brunch.
Mort Garson - Mother Earth's Plantasia (1976) >progressive electronic, moog music, cute-core >sounds like the soundtrack to every educational space video from the 1970s
>dark ambient, industrial, folk drone >this album is like staring out the window of a crumbling Soviet-era apartment complex as mushroom clouds bloom on the horizon
that's all i got for now, might postsome more later love you
Isaac Powell
Thank you! I've been looking for a copy of this for so long. Cheers!

Hi I have a very dumb question. What's the difference between listening to a downloaded or purchased album as opposed to just listening to it on YouTube? I know it has to do with bitrates but how does that affect what you're actually hearing?
bitrate is sound quality if you download something higher than 128kbps, it will sound crisper and cleaner than what's on youtube (because 128kbps is youtube's limit) as a drastic example, 8kbps - youtube.com/watch?v=OwLq7Q4J5tw 128kbps - youtube.com/watch?v=Wabrnt1MVVQ 320 - even better
also you can put it on your phone as a local file and not have to worry about losing internet connection or using your data when streaming your music like a chump
Juan Lee
When you compress a file you lose sound quality. Say you take an mp3 of 320kbps and post it on YouTube, which streams at 128kbps. It's like taking 320ml of water and pouring it into a 128ml container. You still have water but it's not all there. When you compress an audio file you lose high range frequencies. If you're just playing files off a laptop or something you can't really tell the difference but it becomes noticeable when using decent speakers or headphones.

Lubomyr Melnyk - Rivers and Streams (2015) [320] >Neo-classical, piano
>"Ukrainian pianist and composer Lubomyr Melnyk has spent his career developing a method of performance called "continuous music," one that splits the difference between Minimalism and New Age. Melnyk delivers a sustained flurry of high-speed arpeggiated notes. By holding down the sustain pedal, he allows tones to ring out indefinitely, creating droning ambience and phantom melodies."
