>mfw multiple contacts on DRADIS

DRADIS PICKING UP ADDITIONAL CONTACTS, SECOND BASESTAR COMING OUT OF FTL

{jump noises}

GET THOSE FRACKING VIPERS OUT THERE

>mfw seeing all those Dradis contacts

>mfw seasons 3 and 4

What is that? A Raider

...

Was there ever a good Battlestar Galactica game?

Season 3 wasn't all bad
I'd say.....probably Unfinished Business was when the decline started

...

Falling down a flight of stairs usually isn't too bad for the first few stairs either, but that doesn't make them good.

But when the show was good, it was really frakking good

Well, it goes without saying that Season 2 was the best
You can't really follow something like that so I guess Season 3 was always going to pale in comparison
What he said

This I won't argue with. I wouldn't have come to the thread otherwise. Absolutely love the first two seasons and razor, which just makes me feel that much worse about the rest.

>mfw I have a commission of the Moebius BSG Pegasus model in the pipeline
Fucking hype

The writer's strike certainly didn't help things
I will admit, I didn't much care for how they tried to recton things in Razor, like making Cain into a dyke for example

HE'S THE MOTHERFRAKKING SHIT

>mfw I saw that for the first time
It was only a few months ago as well

I loved the setting of BSG, the worlds, the tech, the war. I watched it because I love that stuff. But man, this scifi series had least stable characters in any scifi show ever. Randomly killing themselves and each other even when they seem most sane. Character "development" was just them going more crazy as time went on. The only character that worked in favor/made sense to do for was Baltar.

That scene was golden
youtube.com/watch?v=tCiSqdi7bYg

Baltar's "Maybe God should come down here and beg for our forgiveness!" speech was kickass
But you're right - by the end of the show there wasn't a single character who hadn't been transformed into a complete and utter bastard
At least with Cavil it made sense

>Camera falling away, the sense of death approaching
>BOOMING forward guns right after the silence, as the music kicks in again
>PEGASUS FUCK YEAR moment as we see the ship
>Focus on the name PEGASUS as it goes by

Glorious.

Man, Glorious barely does justice to how fucking awesome that scene was
Just made it that much more painful when Lee fucking Adama destroyed her so unnecessarily

Can we take a second to discuss how absolutely fucking ridiculous it was to turn Anders into a hybrid?

Don't forget the soundtrack
youtube.com/watch?v=WSYPYq9D_No

The final four were all stupid (even though the reveal itself was great)

every character became completely unrelatable mid-season 3 maybe besides baltar.

I know that the way they chose them was pretty retarded and the fact they had to do them all together was contrived
But here's the thing
For all the bitching that everyone does about the Final Five, who else could they have picked?
The lady mechanic from the hangar deck? Doc Cottle's assistant? A Tylium miner?

>its a lee adama stands up to his father while protecting a character youre supposed to hate episode

>I know that the way they chose them was pretty retarded
Dart board?

Except for Roslin
She was just a constantly raging supercunt - she even locked people up for reading a book

>he watched Robot Chicken
The worst part is, that was probably how it happened

I always hated her and her fake smile. She played her role as politician well.

At least Louise Fletcher did a good job of making you hate Kai Winn because she was written as a shit-stirrer

Roslin was supposed to be 'good' but she was always so goddamn infuriating

Watch it, Cylon!

Wrong meme

I haven't. That's just a fairly common, and old joke about how tv execs make terrible decisions.

>mfw Gaeta didn't blow her the fuck out in Blood on the Scales

>browsing classic cylons after this thread
>see this

Will any TV show get even close to having as great space battles as BSG? The action is so fucking good. Really fun show.

Here
youtube.com/watch?v=FzH6GVBSXSk
And yes, it is Ron Moore

The space battles were CGI porn

>tfw no show to fill the Battlestar Galactica / LOST hole

You know what I mean, big budget serialised character driven sci fi shows with a ton of mystery and mythology. Even if BSG kind of shit the bed toward the end I still love that genre of show. The only thing that compares these days is GOT but that just doesn't really compare.

Don't worry the new Star Trek series will be here soon.

Haha

...

Ok, that was pretty good. The Joss Whedon part was great.

>DIE YOU FILTHY CHROME KIKES!

woah they really kept pushing it to make it darker in those later seasons

>Moonman
Gonna need some exposition on that one

might need to watch this. Doesn't look half as good as BSG though

Well, it actually looks better. In my opinion. As a BSG fan.

But if you are here for space battles then it's not really that kind of a show. It's more of a neo-noir detective story. That one fairly short battle unveiled throughout a whole episode.

But the CGI, the sound design, the realism make it top notch.

...

there was a pretty good mod for Homeworld 2 that was great when it worked properly

the worst finale in television history

This has to be the coolest and most brilliant move in any scifi ever.

>insert emotion chip
>suddenly begin to use 400 year old profanity in a professional work setting

what did they mean by this?

It's Doc Mitchell, neat.

youtube.com/watch?v=Mqjj_oU9Hac

naw its pure pleb filter

That sucks though. The Basestar's are far too close, their optimal engagement range is way farther back. They don't even have turrets.

>mfw it was the episode with a sub-plot consisting of nothing but Laura Roslin and Major Kira

It looks worse. Expanse tries to look futuristic with its touchscreens and magic light show railguns.
BSG looks like the actual military. Combat information systems are simple, rugged and effective. Combat itself is a busy mess filled with tracers and missiles and semi newtonian movement playing rock paper scissors. BSG is more grounded and wholly superior.

that was the galactica, the pegasus was touchscreens and magic light too.
But they have a really good canon reason for that.
The cylons hacked everything, so the colonials had to go back to the basics for it to be hack proof.
Thats why the galactica was so basic in its operations.
The pegasus was build at a time where they tought they where safe from the cylon hacks.
So it was all computers.

The expanse does the combat way better. BSG is too similar to naval battles, with fighters and shit.

Real space combat would be long range slugging matches with cannons and missiles, like you see in the expanse.

"real" space battles would be 90% done by computers anyway.
Humans would not be able to keep up.

This.

I enjoyed Caprica solely for this reason. It may have had its shortcoming, but gods damn it, it was set of one of the Twelve Colonies before the fall. We got a glimpse into Colonial culture and it was fascinating.

More or less, humans would still order the targets and fire though.

The board game is godly, user

whats up with her skeleton being bare?
The galactica was missing most of her outer hull plating, thats why she looked like that.
All these fan made battlestars somehow completly miss this.

Pure CGI kino.

Look no further than Diaspora: Shattered Armistice.

Caprica is amazing. Extremely underrated.

>gay space mafia
>robot cult terrorists
>The matrix
>twin peaks like drama
>AI sentience

Something this original was canceled. Fuck sy fy

shit looks good

Best BSG game by a mile. Captures the atmosphere of the series perfectly, excellent gameplay adapted from Freespace 2 but implement's the show's physics and it presents a short yet compelling original story.

It's free too. diaspora.hard-light.net/

Reminder that Gaeta did nothing wrong, and yet the writers fucked him up.

It was painful to watch, desu.

>It stopped.

He never got to see his dream of restaurants shaped like food come to fruition.

Fucking this

That episode is a contender to the title of best TV ever
