The United States has been invaded! How would the government respond? Would militias form? Would they be trained by the Military? Would the government stock militias with weapons? Would Gramps and his hunting rifle have a place? How about public owned tanks, and other military weapons? Would the government supply ammunition? How would the prepping of Militias in the USA take place?

The second amendment would make America extremely difficult to invade.

Nigger we already have a Militia. What do you think our National Guard is for?

We have well over 1 million members of the armed forces living stateside at any given time, not counting numbers deployed or stationed overseas that can be returned home to re-enforce the ones already here. Factor in the 10's of millions of law enforcement and civilian gun owners / veterans..

I'm talking about a people's militia, not a federal/state militia. One composed of Jim's armoured truck, and some guys with their personal SKSes and ARs.

We are good. Half the street is ex military. All own guns except the cuck teachers at the end of the block.

There would be conscription assuming it was a ground war. If the US had in reality "lost" and the remaining resistance was former military units, then they would take what they could get.

Any invading force would be fucked sideways.

>How would the government respond?
National guard + law enforcement would immediately respond and onshore military would soon follow. Rural citizens would start fighting too, thanks to the second amendment the US has the largest standing army in the world by an extremely wide margin.

>Would militias form?
Yes. Militias already exist, more would be created.

>Would they be trained by the Military?
If there's time, yes.

>Would the government stock militias with weapons?
Likely.

>Would Gramps and his hunting rifle have a place?
Yes.

>How about public owned tanks, and other military weapons?
Anything that hasn't been disabled, yes. You can legally own a tank with a functioning cannon, but you have to register it and convince local police that you won't go on a rampage.

>Would the government supply ammunition?
Very likely.

>How would the prepping of Militias in the USA take place?
Training between militias would take place, as would recruitment.

Invading the US is militarily impossible. Invaders would be fighting the most advanced military in the world on top of ~150 million citizens.

My gramps has a hunting rifle. Also served two tours in Nam and retired as a Seargent Major. Bring it.

You're not getting paid.

>tfw the US has enough guns to arm the entire population, children included

>The United States has been invaded!
How?

I think he's implying China would try. This is assuming they somehow don't get their asses kicked on the way across the ocean and then nuked into oblivion.

Which they would, so the scenario doesn't make sense, especially when you consider that China has no incentive to invade the U.S.

>China has no incentive to invade the U.S.
Eh, they kind of do. The Chinese communist party sees the US as a threat to their total domination of their population. They also hate Japan and South Korea.

Also, keep in mind that the PLA is obligated to protect the CCP, NOT the Chinese people.

The US and China are economically entangled on multiple levels. Hurting the U.S. would be a disaster for the Chinese economy.

Why the fuck would we bother with militias when we have one of the largest, most advanced militaries in the world?

It very much would be, but dictators calling themselves communists ruling a country labeled as a republic generally don't tend to have that level of common sense.

If the USA got invaded, the public would respond by creating memes after law enforcement neutralized it.

>thinking the nation guard is a militia

you are a fuckin idiot

Many of them are deployed. OP's scenario assumes that the invading force got to the US mainland before the military could return home.

That said, Xi seems to understand that a war with the US would be a really stupid idea.

they do when they are the ones getting the paychecks from those trades

China without USA is more broke than the USA without China. Who the hell wants to buy shit Chinese made products anyway?

That and

>distance between towns is VAST.
>Our topography pretty much guarantees that an invasion from either coast will end within 200 miles.

this is the most retarded paranoid nonsense i've ever seen on /b.
you've been reading too many 'national interest' articles sir.

>implying the invading force would get to the US mainland

We have the planes and we have the ships, no one is getting anywhere we dont want them to.

Exactly not to mention tens of millions will die. Reinforcements will be needed at some point. Also it doesn't necessarily need to be China, this could be any country

>Who the hell wants to buy shit Chinese made products anyway?
This is one interesting point. China has this whole "one-belt-one-road" policy which is basically an attempt to resurrect the silk road. Every major project China takes on is fucked in some way. It'd be nice if some of the countries on the way from China to Europe would realize this.

This though, an attack from the West wouldnt get past the Rockies and similarly in the east we have the Appalachian mountains/Mississippi river

Consider the fact that a large percentage of the United States populace is armed. Any invading force would have to plow through the entire fucking adult population, which isn't fucking happening. It's not feasibly possible to field enough ground forces to dominate the USA and the retardedly large number of civilian owned firearms we have.

>this could be any country
China is the second most powerful country. Any other country would be slaughtered before leaving their own borders.

Especially when there are tons of other Asian countries that also sell really low priced low quality goods.

Nat Guard is a branch of the U.S. Military. It *was* a militia when it was founded. Now, it's just another government fist.

Some of them are objectively better. Taiwan and Singapore make better products for the same or lower prices.

I mean Russia doesnt even want the US. Putin wants the EU

But Russia would be a larger threat than China since they actually have veteran troops. China hasnt fought since the 50s

>implying a good ol' invasion would even happen these days
>implying the first attack wouldn't be through the computer system or a biological agent.
>implying they would need to step foot in america at all to destroy us
we'll just hole up when the lights go out then start shooting each other when the food runs low. that's when they'll come in, if there's any reason to any more.

Nice dubs m8.

Kinda a neat point.

I think some communities would survive, just not in a national sense.

My town has 1k people in it, I think we'd just live sustainably if the grid failed.

>how would the government respond
Holding the line+maxiumum damage control, securing control of vital ressources

>Would militias form
yes, to keep away looters and rioters (niggers)

>Would the government stock militias with weapons
no, unregulated militias are a threat to the weakened goverment at this point

>Would Gramps and his hunting rifle have a place
yes, guarding the perimiter of the camp/community

>public owned tanks, and other military weapons ?
ammo and fuel will only be available for gov personel and vehicles

>How would the prepping of Militias in the USA take place?
stockpiling of ressources, recruting and training in places with homogeneous communities

However invading the US of A would be just a waste of ressources. It would be much cheaper to disrupt the power/water/food supply and then lean back and watch the riots unfold while the us gov wasting ressources to restore law and order.

And when the dust settles just walz in to take out the rest of the government infrastructure.

>Putin wants the EU
Yea, that isn't a particularly bright move either. Any attempt to invade a NATO state triggers world war since all of Europe and the US would respond. Putin needs to work with the US and the US needs to get rid of Trump. Bernie actually said he was open to improving relations with Russia.

Instant world war aside, Putin needs the EU and US to counter China. China and Russia have long hated each other, the only reason they're working together now is because China views the US as a threat and needs an ally (and Obama was kind of being a dick moving forces near Russia's border).

small towns probably have a better chance of survival in an initial attack, and may have a better chance at sustaining themselves afterwards. but if the US loses its ability to communicate with each other, we could see an invasion creep across the country, and a small town may not be able to protect itself from an actual army. war is never a head-on conflict like most the people in this thread seem to think. especially once we get to the point where nearly everyone is armed. we've become too reliant on computers and electronics that are vulnerable to remote tampering.
there will be small populations that do just fine, because they aren't so reliant on that stuff, but the country as a whole would not be able to defend itself very well if this were to happen.
