This album has one of the greatest guilty pleasures in the history of music ever. Seriously just give it a chance and you'll realize it's great. He's got like 40 chapters now but the first 30 are amazingly hilarious.

I like ELP. I have wondered why they aren't mentioned all that much as well.

Emerson Lake & Palmer (1971), 6.5/10
Tarkus (1971), 7/10
Trilogy (1972), 4/10
Brain Salad Surgery (1973), 6/10
Works Vol I (1977), 4/10
Vol II (1977), 3/10
Love Beach (1978), 3/10
Black Moon (1992), 3/10
In The Hot Seat (1994) , 3/10

Wrong

Emerson Lake & Palmer (1971), 9.5/10
Tarkus (1971), 9/10
Trilogy (1972), 9.5/10
Brain Salad Surgery (1973), 8.5/10
Welcome Back, My Friends (1974), 8/10
Works Vol I (1977), 7/10
Vol II (1977), 6/10 (solid 8 if you ignore the fact that its half previously released content)
Love Beach (1978), 5/10
Black Moon (1992), 2/10
In The Hot Seat (1994) , 2/10

>Emerson committed suicide in 2016 at the age of 71 and Greg Lake died a few months later.

>(not true, by the way)

If its not true, then explain why its not. ELP dropped consistently solid albums in the early 70s, and Works is really underrated.

>f its not true, then explain why its not.
Because Scruff said so.

...

Magnetic Fields
the 6ths

anything else with Stephin Merritt

What was so bad about Black Moon? I enjoyed it.

yeah, to me big star are one of the greatest bands ever, but Sup Forums seems relatively indifferent

Skinny Puppy

Definitely Elend.
By now I might've listened to all their albums more than a hundred times.

youtube.com/watch?v=EIXDahM_6YA

I personally just dont like how it sounds, especially compared to their older material. I might give it a re-listen here soon though.

These dudes going crazy next up

I fucking hate ELP
everything that I hate about prog rock is them

Okay. Why do you hate them? Explain your feelings sir.

Criminally underrated.

Just listened based on this post and my god this is one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard

Best one hit wonder band I've heard yet this year.

Cheap Trick

This is my mom's favorite band. Heard em a lot growing up.

Seconding this, they're still amazing live too.

A few months ago we were having regular Cheap Trick threads, but not anymore. I wonder why.

Yeah, I've seen them 5 times. Every time they were great. So much energy for a bunch of old dudes.

Night Knight

The Mire's single full length album Glass Cathedrals belongs here

Giant and Civilian are my most listened GG albums.
What's so bad about them?

What's wrong with 'In the Hot Seat'?
At least half of the album is enjoyable.

The Chameleons

All excellent albums

glad you like it!
the song 'southern jukebox music" is probably the most beautiful melody i ever heard idk
youtube.com/watch?v=BXijOf7-OqM

fun fact: that album was produced by brian eno and was released on his label, it's album number is Obscure 7

check out the album signs of life for more. you might recognize some songs from various movies and shit. enjoy my friend!

Lucifer's Friend

>Bands that Sup Forums doesn't talk about
None. Sup Forums should not attempt to discuss music at all

see Neither albums carry the vigor and energy that their earlier material did, and I dont like how Lake's voice darkened with age.

Soft Machine

...

They put out just one great album after another every year. IMO King Crimson is the only other prog band to do this.

>She says, "What?"
>"Baby this is no lie he had a lover turns out to be a gay guy"

dadrock sucks

Fuck off to your lil pump thread, jackass

no one told me king crimson had good albums and not just castles and wizards and virgin shit

Sorry your father didn't come back from getting cigarettes in time to share his love of music with you.

Tarkus would be a 10/10 masterpiece if not for that terrible out-of-place closing track.

Really? I laughed my ass off when I heard it the first time I listened to the album. I think it shows how fun the band can be, after an LP's worth of serious, high-concept prog.

I talk about Chameleons all the time on here, but I never get any replies.

I shook Mark's hand once.

Beulah

ELP albums are full of filler and are actually pretentious at times.

...

...

This so much

I get incredibly irritated whenever someone calls them a one hit wonder

These bands get talked about all the fucking time, if any Prog bands need to be talked about, it's non English/American bands. I myself have a very soft spot for Japanese prog but it never gets discussed when prog threads come up, I wish it was though because bands like Kenso are great.

bump

This is pretty much universally loved on Sup Forums but it's not often discussed.

Punch Brothers

this

Hey Sup Forums remember me?
of course not

Finnish prog like Wigwam is better. The only reason people know about them is because one of their member's solo album was in that DJ Shadow album.

...

go back to masturbating to your memerap and indieshit, faggot

Does Sup Forums like John Howard?

youtu.be/wCw2PNtdDnA

ELP fucking suck so fucking much.

Faggot.

Kukl. Always gets brought up once in Bjork threads and nobody seems to talk much about them.
