Most Montreal transit employees make 6-figure salaries on the public dime. This includes toll collectors.

People like to shit on civil servants until that is you expect grade A service.

Not comparable to that particular situation as I am in the USA and in a different industry (although still classified as an operation or field level civil servant).

I make 6 figures, but why shouldn't I? To get to my level it took 10 years, a bachelor's degree, 4 years of on the job training and certifications, a 10 year track for exams and reviews.

Plus it's family wage. That is how much it costs to have a family these days. You don't want your civil servants being shit bags, they are supposed to be the good neighbors that own the clean house with the white picket fence.

>Plus it's family wage. That is how much it costs to have a family these days. You don't want your civil servants being shit bags, they are supposed to be the good neighbors that own the clean house with the white picket fence.
Fuck the nigger government and everyone who works for it.

So this means what, 100,000 canadian dollars per year? That's a pretty decent salary, yeah. In Sweden they'd get half that amount before taxes. Is there any source on your statement though?

Who cares it won't last, it just means they have more to lose

It's true, even in Toronto working at the liquor store (which is government owned) you make a starting salary of like 40 grand a year

So the public transit employees make way more than other people doing comparable jobs? Why?

Our government is retarded, the starting salary for the RCMP is 60 thousand a year, working at the liquor store makes you almost as much.
I think the starting salary for the army is like half that of the RCMP

>6 figures
>family wage

I make 36k/yr and support a family of three. I still have time and money for vacations and alcohol.

>State employee makes decent money providing service to other people, and will put that money back into the economy through average consumer spending, and will be further taxed
>"FUCKIN OMG WHAT LEECHES THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE I DON'T WANT TO PAY SO MUCH JUST FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S SALARY UNBELIEVABLE RACE WAR WHEN?"
>CEO makes billions of dollars a year, hides massive majority of that money offshore, and what little is actually taxed is further subsidized by taxpayers until they literally pay nothing in taxes off said billions of dollars
>"I mean, you can't blame them for being shrewd businessmen. There's nothing wrong with gaming the system."

Yeah army starting salary is 29k. Entry level officer is only 45k, but you get free university.

I make around 50k usd as a journalist which is pretty decent, my gf is a teacher and makes about 60 but I end up making more since she isn't self employed like me and has to pay Union dues.

Municipal and provincial governments always pay stupidly high salaries though.

Things are more expensive in Canada but the problem is Canadians are just absolutely retarded at managing their money.
Every single person I know complains minimum wage isn't enough then goes clubbing or drinking or smokes weed everyday.
Nobody I know saves their money, my running shoes are like 3 years old and people so me why I don't buy new ones every year, my phone is 20 years old and they keep insisting I buy a new iPhone every year like they do so I can complain I'm broke with them.

This is true. I but a lot of clothes from value village and thrift stores but only nice stuff like Ralph Lauren or whatever. I buy a new phone every two years outright rather than in contract (save like 2k)

>journalist
Good going getting a job in a field with a bright outlook!

I made a mistake with the RCMP
>you will be hired as a Constable at an annual salary of $50,674. Usually, within 36 months of service, your annual salary will have increased incrementally to $82,108
Still, it's crazy how low the army wages are compared to the RCMP and just how high a bus driver gets it's stupid and they always go on strike still.

What the fuck is TIL?

Some civil servants do deserve the money they make.

For example, a lot of OPG workers make well over $100k a year, but a lot of them die of stress-related things, like heart attacks. It's like working in a pressure cooker these days, you have single power stations controlling 10% or more of the provincial grid.

Not to mention it's shift work most of the time, you work 3 days, then take a 24 hour break and work 2 nights. Your sleep schedule is pretty much fucked for life after a few years of work like that.

I buy all my clothes on sale, I just wait and look around I can get European made wool suits for like $150 bucks. Not Ralph Lauren but I don't care about brands, Canadians just have it easy you hear so many of them make fun of Americans for having a lower minimum wage then they go to their dealer and blow all their money and it's not just stupid teens or young people who do this I know parents like this!

You've just described an engineer's education and experience and they often make six figures for very long hours (overtime exempted profession) and travel a lot. Public sector workers with the same pay doing less than half the work and getting copious time off with no real performance goals are what make you parasites.

I grant you there are far more parasites beneath you pushing paper ~1hr a day for 2/3 your salary who need to be removed first, but don't pretend like your position and pay are justified just because you jumped all the government approved hoops.

Fucking Franconiggers

Thank your wife for supporting your sorry ass.

>all these yankee commies
Public sector workers should never get paid more than in private sector.
Civil servants are necessary evil, and should be treated as such.

so whats the problem

If any of you go to San Francisco the BART tram operators make easily 75K base salary, and then double that on overtime (150k total). It's a fucking scam cause the BART is constantly falling apart, like the carriage will go off the rails before the next station

It's honestly more beneficial to get a public sector job here most of the time, look how stupid this is.

>Salary: Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) drivers, formally called operators, start off making $24.06 an hour. After 12 months, the pay rises to $26.53 an hour, and to $31.40 after 24 months. The operators have a 40-hour work week

They make insanely good money for what the job is

You're a fucking shill OP!

you fucking leaflet, misleading people.

yeah i'll just go on Sup Forums to vent my anger and jealousy at public servants and their high salaries and i'll post a picture with it showing a public servant apparently sleeping at work thus implying that public servants are lazy and don't deserve the money they make.

fuck you leaflet. you can clearly see that the traincar has its red lights on. so it's the end of the train. the man chillin there is not driving the train, maybe he is on a break or something.

you distorter of the truth!
J'ACCUSE, Leaflet!

yes, same here in Finland
you have people with masters degree in engineering
and they choose to become government bureaucrats who review building permits and such
because government pays as good money as private sector
but demands much less effort, you just stamp papers for 1 hour, and browse reddit for the rest 6 hours

I'm pretty sure you're shitposting but this is is ridiculously common

again

what is the problem exactly

It's a waste of tax payers money. There's no reason someone working in a ticket booth should be making six figures when it should be minimum wage work.

at least i'm not leafposting...

Germans... Not even once

>should

oh, i thought you actually had something

a fucking leaf

Instead of reading the Germans shitposts you just call me a leaf?

pffff... go ask france how much fun germany is three times in a row.

leaflets... pussies as usual....

So much fun I bet

you dumb moosefucker... i told you to go ask france. you went and asked britain and the US...

i thought public education was good in canada. or is this the effect of le legalisation of le weed?

Maybe I'll go ask Russia how much fun Germany is instead :^)

>if we create an infinte loop where people pay taxes, get paid by taxes and pay taxes again we'll end up with infinite money
>money = wealth

Time to cut quebecs welfare bux.

Seit wann soll ein Angestellter im Zug schlafen? Muus dass wirklich sein? Kann der Gloiffe nicht daaheim in sein egenes Bett schlafen?

...

This, a million times.

>work as a part-time tram operator for ETS in Edmonton
>make 17 bucks an hour
I've had enough.

yeah, go ask the zergs...

No need to be salty, Quebec best province you mountain/prairie fags

>>working in edmonton
>>not that many people
>>you wont make it rain as much senpai
