>original composition influenced by Medieval and Renaissance music >first half is ensemble-based with recorders, lutes, drones, and percussion, second half is a lute duet >currently working on album with elements of progressive rock, folk, and early music
I listened to your stuff yesterday on the other thread, good stuff, would recommend.
Overall it's good. It you intend to leave it as it is, then it's fine. It you want to flesh it out to make a complete song, then you should slow it down a little bit and overdub a melody. The part that starts at the beginning sounds good enough on it's own, but the part that starts at 22 seconds could really use a melody or some sort of classical arpeggio part. Then again, that doesn't ruin the song, it sounds good the way it is now, only follow my advice if you want to flesh it out into a full song.
>soundcloud.com/cumulostratus nice, listened to the most recent track, could have used a bridge. for more interest. the beginning was really nice. just heard the bridge. would have liked to have heard it sooner

Your track seems unfocused. What is the focus of the song? What do you expect listeners to get out of your music? A good lyrical story? A nice melody? Skillful arrangements? Slick production? Fun and danceable tunes? I'm drawing blanks. What element should I be focusing on in the mix? The lyrics? Should I be stepping back and focusing on the full picture and the way the elements blend together? This sounds more like the intro to a song, rather than sounding like a fully fleshed out song on its own. Learn to properly write songs, learn to structure them and create arrangements, this just sounds like you've thrown together some random "weird" things and hoped that the "weirdness" would be appealing enough to make up for the lack of any sort of memorable melody or a cohesive song.

Thank you very much, i'm glad you liked it
Thanks, I just listened to that youtube link you posted, really good stuff. If you wanted a real bluegrass feel I could overdub some banjo, mandolin or bass onto that song if you wanted me to. It still sounds good on it's own though.
I just released this music video the other day. I notice there's some tuning issues at high volumes, like the bass changes key. It really blows my mind, idk how it happens

What do you mean? I'm always looking for ways to improve my singing. What do you think I could improve on?
Sure, if you want to give overdubbing a shot! Glad you think it's worth it. It'd be pretty cool to collaborate, I think.
My album ‘Marooned on Olympus Mons’ is out now. Best listened to in the darkness with headphones on. Free downloads on Bandcamp, just name your price as $0
Alright, here it is. I added banjo, mandolin, slide guitar, acoustic bass, and percussion. The vocals are a bit quiet from your original recording, so it would be good if you could double-track your vocal part in some program like Audacity or Garageband to make the vocals a bit louder and the lyrics a bit clearer. Hope you like it, feel free to do whatever you want with it.
Awesome! That was fast, too. You're a legend. Thanks, man!
I usually do my recordings as a one-shot thing. I haven't done much multi-tracking for my solo stuff. It seems like you have a pretty good handle on that side of things. I appreciate listening to your work.

my feedback
your synth work is soo nice man those reverbed mid range saws. Groovy shit. Dreams has a great groove
Some niice melodies going on here. feel it needs some vocals or subtle percussion to really complete as a song, but love the ideas you have down here.
for some reason your latest track is unavailable, but listening to gazzze.a nice fat kick and drums feel very organic niice. I feel it needs some more variation to really expand into a fulll 2 min+ song
