Not finding them entertaining is perfectly reasonable but they are not pretentious in any fucking universe.

The problem is that they are beyond sardonic. To the point where they are self aware they are bad and they put themselves as critics. IT's ok to be a critic but when you make shitty movies you cant expect to be taken seriously. Mike and jay have a decent understanding of story structure but when it comes to Film technicalities they are as stupid as they come. This two things are independent but Ive noticed that the dialogue in their movies isnt clever which only makes them lazy because they know its not good. Theive improved a lot after Space Cop but thats not enough.

I feel like they could do a great job with a good script and a good budget. But those things will never come their way

But the reason Kubrick's opinion would be more meaningful is not because it's coming from the mouth of Kubrick, but obviously because Kubrick is a genius who knows a lot about film so his opinion would almost certainly be more intelligent and informed than a homeless dude.

How accurate and logical someone's criticisms of a film are has nothing to do with who they are or whether they have made films themselves. The facts exist separately from the person. I can't believe I'm even having to explain something so simple.

Film critics are generally failed filmmakers anyways.

Their movies blow ass, they should just make shorts if they don't have the budget also they don't even try to act half the time.
They said it themselves that intentionally bad films are worse than unironically bad ones, and I don't really enjoy either one of those genres. I tried to watch Space Cop but got bored half way through.

But I like their reviews (Plinket > Half in the Bag > Re:view >> Best of the Worst). Even when its a movie I had no intention of seeing. I don't have a TV anymore, so I just watch Youtube if I don't know what show or movie to stream. Back when I had a TV I would channel surf until I found something moderately entertaining. Now I'm watching youtubers and actually enjoying it.
