Buy another guitar and use several boutique pedals
Dylan Rodriguez
Here's the '77 maple. Also have a '79 silverburst and a '90 tobaccoburst.
Liam Fisher
don't name your song "achoo!" for one you could also use some more involved picking patterns beyond that you could not ask a bunch of strangers on Sup Forums for song writing advice

Actually cool af as much as I dislike goldtop (I think it's boring).
Caleb Brooks
Giggreed on goldtop. I like guitars that are heavily wood-grained, not paint-finish sparkle flaky for the most part.
Hunter Fisher
Oh wow, this actually sounds really good. I'd totally buy an album if I heard this song on it. Especially because of the lo-fi feel of it.
Isaac Campbell

just ordered one of these things
Jaxson Martin
I have a telecaster but no pedals.
If you're serious, thank you.
I have been considering it. My singing needs a lot of work. I'm quite new to this music thing though.
Noah Perry
t. nu male
Alexander Campbell
That doesn't make any sense. He would have put the jaguar first and the jazzmaster second. If you're going to shitpost do it properly, we have real pros here.
Robert Hill
Offsets are objectively inferior and are only cool because all of the cool musicans from 1975-1991 couldn’t afford Strats or Teles. Even J Mascis and Richard Lloyd have attested to this.
And I like offsets.
Juan Watson
Ranking literally any offset over any real guitar is nu male behavior.
Brandon Ortiz
I guess you need to be familiarized with the rules.

>'77 maple Yeah, I was asking about this one. Looks great!
Welcome to the double lipstick club. Nice tones in each position. So jangly.
Wyatt Walker
I bought a daisy rock guitar (for like 5 dollars then i sold for 30) with a lipstick pickup made by seymour duncan. I was pleasantly surprised. They are nice pickups
Nathaniel Thomas
So who can link me to some serious in depth set up guides? Preferably youtube videos. I am not currently in a position to pay someone to change my strings and set up my shit, so I need to learn to do it myself. I can get the action and intonation to where it needs to be, I just am super terrified of messing with the truss rod.
I moved to a new city like a year ago and I have taken my guitars into a couple different places for restrings and setups, and I have been unhappy with the results both times. There's this one place that comes highly recommended and everything, but like I said, I don't have the money right now. And they sound expensive.
That being said, I have two guitars and a bass. A mexican strat SSS, a mexican jazzmaster HH, and a musicman stingray four string, single humbucker. I am probably going to try this third luther tomorrow with my bass, but I really want to take care of my guitars myself. I have tools, I even have a feeler gauge.
So yeah, any info and links and shit would be appreciated. Sorry for the rant, I am on some uppers right now.

it's not hard, just go slow. start with the trust rod, fret it at the 1st fret and then where the neck meets the body (need a capo for the 1st fret.) there should be an amount of relief towards the middle of the neck when fretted at the body, use your feeler gauges for this. a good amount of relief depends on personal preference, i usually end up around 0.01" (10 thousandths.) i'd say the acceptable range is 0.01" - 0.02" approximately. if it's more than that, then tighten it a little. go slow, like a quarter turn at a time. let the guitar rest as you go, don't tighten it too much at once. do a quarter turn, play it for a few, then remeasure and repeat if needed.
if there's less relief than 0.01", loosen the trust rod 1/4 turn similarly.
Is this the next step in the natural evolution of guitar music?
Evan Allen
i hope not
Angel Price
My local shop has a Bandit 112 in pretty good shape for $200. Any of you ninnys have one?
Jeremiah Brown
Are you famous?
Nathaniel Jackson
How do you keep your pickups so clean after so many years? The gold covers on my guitars rust almost instantly.
Juan Cooper
Don't play it retard. Guitars are for collecting.

Can you guys help me find a video I can't find because I don't know what to type in. It is of an older black man playing and electric guitar( prob strat ) outdoors and there was feild behind him.He was wearing an orange button up shirt. I beileve he may have been a famous blues guitarist. It also comes up it my reccommend vids because I watch alot of guitar vids so maybe you guys know about it.
Can someone explain to me how one "segues" into a harmonic from a picked guitar note? What I mean is this: youtu.be/k5HannQM364?t=2m30s
The jump into the harmonic at 2:33. At least I think it's a jump to a harmonic, and it doesn't sound plucked. He does it all over this piece. Is he just really good at sneaking in pinch or tap harmonics or something?
Connor Allen
No, it has nothing to do with his playing technique. That's just what a feedback loop does, it adds higher harmonics. You can get that effect easily from an E-Bow.
Brayden Allen
So how would I go about achieving that? Loud volume and nice and close to my amp?
Isaiah Torres
Without an E-Bow? I'm not sure. I assume so. A lot of sustainable gain, the sliding from one note to another would end the feedback and when you're sitting on one note for a bit it will start to feedback again.
Nolan Hall
I know that Fripp has never used an E-bow, not even with his infinite sustain on Heroes, so however the hell he does it, it's not that. I'll try some stuff out though, thanks user.
Xavier Hall
He has a sustainer built into his guitar which is basically an Ebow for 6 strings
Logan Rodriguez
I know, but he didn't use it back in the Heroes and early Frippertronics days as the sustainer pickup didn't exist yet. (I'm pretty autistic about this guy)
Yo guys is this bad for my finger or a bad habit? Sometimes it's just naturally what I'll do it trying hard to change chord fast. I'm also a beginner so I can probably make my finger 90 degrees if I wanted to. Pic related.
Wyatt Watson
You mean the way you're bending your ring finger? It's not good. Make sure it stands properly. Doing it like this is will make it harder to jump to other chords, and you run the risk of buzzing out the B string with the tip of your finger.
Dylan Foster
avoid having "banana" fingers!
Benjamin Cox
Your thumb should flex forward, not backwards. Then again as long as it sounds good and you're not hurting yourself, who cares.
Mason Johnson
Man that is just not natural to me am I doomed I suck at guitar anyways.. so sad
Jack Ross
I actually thought about doing this but the nice semi-hollows are all 2000+. Can someone recommend a cheaper alternative?
No, why?

If you can't even fucking play your music at least be honest about it.
Luke Ramirez
Jcm 900 has probably been used to record more than any other amp. And its the touring musicians choice. You bedroom players with your 1 watt amos wont understand . you dont have the testosterone levels.
Juan Bennett
Anyone here exclusively fingerpicks or enjoys alternate tunings?
I started exclusively fingerpicking last year and I'm having problems playing "normal" stuff. Like, I don't even play scales, or maybe I do without noticing, but I've turned very proficient in picking accurately and fast with all my fingers (except the pinky).
I basically play shit like this (not me, I don't wear any finger picks like in video by the way):
I feel like I'm shit when I say I play guitar and people expect me to play meme solos.
After like a year of practicing I feel like I'm somewhat "advanced" in Open C tuning and there's still a fuckton of open tunings.
Recently I've tried fingerpicking in the electric guitar but it sounds kinda duller than playing with a regular pick, I think I should use thicker strings.
John Phillips
>I feel like I'm shit when I say I play guitar and people expect me to play meme solos. m8, who gives a shit what people want you to play I make a point never to indulge anyone and play them something that I have no interest in playing myself
Oliver Nelson
Lesrn music theory so you can have a better understanding of what youre doing and why it sounds good. Notes and their relations dont change
Gavin Rivera
Yea but you dont even own a guitar. So you couldnt even if you wanted to
Logan Parker
What are you on about senpai, are you confusing me for one of the regular shitposters in this garbage thread? I own enough guitars.
Thomas Lewis
ah, now i see. you use this model because you're a touring musician and the diodes dont matter much since you're getting plenty of power tube saturation
Christian Jackson
Everyone here is a shitposter. Post gear. I actually lime to see other peoples gear even if its some brazilian microwave parts slapped together.
Henry Russell
I'm gonna go play a video game like the loser nerd that i am right now, but I'll post it later
Awww man. Whatever youre just probably lying anyway
Owen Wright
Is there a string gauge that would be acceptable to use in E Standard, Eb Standard and Drop D, as well as Open C and Open G?
David Diaz
here's a sneak peek my setup's modest but i like it
Christopher Clark
Ahh so nothing
Wyatt Anderson
fuck i forgot pic obviously there's more, these are just the cases to prove that i do in fact own guitars
Eli Baker
I just sold this geetar for a bit too cheap maybe.. it's going sadly
Elijah Baker
How poor are you
Oliver Price
Not poor just lazy.
Ayden Bailey
A mim and a acoustic? And >no hardwood floors 6/10
Jason Sanchez
A polished turd or did it actually feel and play nice? I see then the laziest approach would to buy a guitar for each tuning. But maybe it is time for an extra guitar, right user? That way you can play around with some heavier gauges or get an 7-8 string and still have a guitar that you dont have to mess with if you want to play something in e or whatever your preferred tuning is.
Luke Myers
At least you managed to get rid of that ugly POS.
Ian Fisher
It could have been worse desu. It could have been an ibeenhad
Jose Brooks
I want to get a cheapo Ibanez for shreddan purposes but I hate all the finishes. How do I go about stripping it and giving it a natural finish?
Zachary Kelly
whats babby's first electric guitar and amp and how much should i expect to pay?
Samuel Jones
Any advice on how to make a good shoegaze guitar sound in fl studio 12? I have a tele and strat and use the hardcore plugin but any tips or advice would be great
Anthony Moore
Maybe a squier fender telecaster would be a good start. Try craigslist or something but only meet at your local police department
Kayden Jones
implying i can afford such luxuries it's made in korea but it's not the shit variety of made in korea, and 'inspected' in the US
Carter Peterson
Get a cheapo jackson instead. Or better yet build your own guitar. For "shred" whats gonna matter more are the pickups. Youre gonna want something hot that can clean up for some rhythm work. Funny enough because hes an ibeenhad player (the best ibanez guitars are the js and jem model and also are the ones that feel less like an ibanez)but satrianis circles is a good song that shows what im talking about
Justin Gonzalez
500 for a setup that wont get you tired of sounding like utter shit. 200 dollar guitar and 300 dollar amp or vice versa. Dont be afraid of used amps.
Owen Scott
Anyone wanna swap a Baja tele for something strat-y? Not fussy.
Camden Price
I see. I too have won the korean guitar lottery. Nothing i can find to complain about on my dean custom 550 fr. Its a quality guitar with a solid feel. I also hear the schecter korean mades are good. Dont remember where i saw or heard or read it but usually all the korean guitars ni matter the brand are made in the same factories. Guitars like ibeenhad and others that are gaudy tell the workers to focus on the finish not the actual wood or wiring or anything else. If it looks nice it will sell is the motto. But obviously some brands dont follow that business model. I wouldnt touch a cheap dean.again. i have a dean vendetta and its ok but cheap.
Grayson Russell
Its an I-Hole. I bet you get some sweet jazz sounds.
Luis Powell
Anyone here knows about music theory or guitar tunings?
I toy around with alternate tunings a lot. Open C is pretty much my only tuning right now (CGCGCE)
There is this specific tuning I'm trying to achieve but it looks complicated.
Also what the fuck does D48435 mean? Does that mean it's a variation of Open D tuning?
How do I achieve the same relativeness without having to move the third string? (G)? This shit is like math. I use my third string as starting point for all my tunings, so I never have problems changing tunings.
