Bright Eyes
Patrician Bright Eyes album comin' through.
terrible nu-male whinefest, if you're a grown man you should be embarrassed to be listening to this
>still using the term "nu-male"
Femanon here; kinda see your point though
This could be interesting. I have never listened to a Bright Eyes LP before though I do have I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning on my backlog. Having said this though my brother does own Cassadaga and since he left the house a while back I've always had the option to listen through his stack of CD's (mostly 2000's indie e.g. Arctic Monkeys, Hard-Fi, The Pigeon Detectives) and so its been tempting to try Cassadaga although I feel that I should listen to Oberst's previous albums to get a "feel" for their sound and context for the album itself. On another note the packaging for Cassadaga is inimitable and the spectral decoder provides more than simply liner notes from the packaging, even if it is a blatant gimmick.

Music for delicate 16 year old girls
Cassadaga has a great first half, then it dips off drastically.
Unironically how old I was when I got into them
Just give 'em a shot. If you haven't heard I'm Wide Awake yet then start there. Follow with pic related.
I have to be in the right mood, but I can still enjoy em. in particular has some really solid songwriting.
Check out “you are your mother’s child” by Oberst first
being embarrassed about listening to anything is retarded.
just own it, you pussy.
Laura Laurent is really fucking good
Will do, admittedly I did listen to the first minute or so of I'm Wide Awake and was quite star-struck to hear the "1, 2, 1234" after having heard it daily on BBC Radio 2 wondering what that was from.
Will do - I'll go "You are your mother's child" then through Bright Eyes albums, or maybe all of Oberst's solos then Bright Eyes. Anyhow I'll get to all of them.
Hope you guys have a nice night, sleep well!
holy fuck what a quality poster, cheers mate
Coming through with the GOAT winter album.
whiny indieshit that should have long been forgotten but for some reason keeps leaking through shit holes and remaining somewhat remembered
Shit opinion.
The People's Key is way better than anyone remembers, you should listen to it today.
I like it
In my late teens and early 20s, I liked a lot of indie folk music and stuff related to Bright Eyes. But for some reason, I could NOT stand Bright Eyes themselves, they just seemed too whiny even for me. Pretty gay.. don't know, maybe never listened to enough of their material, but was never a fan.
