I wouldn't put Czech Republic or Western Slovakia up there as eastern europe. They're both pretty much the same as like Germany or Austria in terms of development. Both are really nice places to live and visit.

More like true compared to some other countries, but it doesn't mean we aren't worth to visit. Poland and Czech have nice architechture and history, so does Russian oldest cities (Petersburg, Moscow, Novgorod's old town, etc.)

One thing you guys need to remember. There is a much bigger difference between the most developed countries in the Eastern Europe and the least developed EE countries than there is between Estern countries and the most developed Eastern countries. Eastern Europe is on average much poorer and less developed than Western Europe, but some countries/parts of countries in the Eastern Europe are at the same level than poorer parts of Western Europe or even better. Ukraine, much of the Balkans and Russia however, those parts are really bad. Moldova is as developed as some better subsaharan African countries for example.
