I'm actually sad and disappointed that it's dying. Threads used to stay up for multiple days, now they die within a few hours. It's rare when they stay for multiple days now. Criticism now is also nonconstructive and just hateful. That was always present but it's far worse now. What happened? How do we fix prod? Did discord destroy it?

I’m not sure what’s happened here. I stopped coming to /prod/ threads daily over a year ago just due to the general shittyness of them. I guess Sup Forums is probably not a great place to have creative threads. It’s a shame as we had a decent little community here which I do miss but it’s just easier to go to a proper forum to talk about production than come here and sift through all the shit

Any suggestions of where to go? I do sometimes appreciate Sup Forums's bluntness and reddit productions subreddits are too forgiving. To the point where you only get positive feedback.

I wouldn’t like to specifically say where I go just on the off chance that anyone from these threads would follow and shit those places up too. I’ve been a member of a small jungle forum for a few years now and there is obviously the cat forum and the other big ones.
I’m not really after feedback in threads so I can’t really help there unfortunately. I’m more interested in talking production techniques, sound design, software, hardware etc.

What I would love to find is a small IDM or experimental electronics forum. I'd be so happy if I could, I just don't know where to look. I understand why you wouldn't want to link them here. This sucks dude, why did prod have to become "hey is fl studio good for making trap?" and "your music fucking sucks go kill yourself"

Try just searching for music production forums for music you like to make...although it doesn’t really matter what genre the forum is based around if you find a good friendly forum then people will discuss all sorts of production styles.

It'll be back . The problem is it takes a decade to learn how to mix and it can't be taught! You need ears, monitors, and musical skill and talent. When you get to that point, you're not needing to clyp on /pdor

Not sure that is true. I’ve been /prod/ing for well over a decade and still used to enjoy coming here. Difference is I have never posted wips or asked for feedback although I’ve given plenty over the years.
