best band of all time tbdesu

Am I the only one who can't hear a damn bit of difference in the recent Queen is Dead reissue/remaster?

There was a remaster? Sorry i dont much keep up on these things

Greatest songwriting partnership in history. Only 60 songs and nearly every one is a 10/10.

They were 2 guys who truly needed each other and everything they've both made since 1987 has for the most part been uninspired nonsense.
Morrissey can't write music to save his life, so he has hired one guitarist after another to try replicate Marr's immaculate ear for melody, but none have even close.
On the flip side, Marr spent the last 30 years bouncing from band to band, trying to fit in somewhere but he seems to get bored after a year or two and quits.

It truly is a tragedy that they couldn't put personal differences aside and made at least 2 or 3 more albums.

I completley agree user, recently ive been getting back into them and have been wondering why i stopped listening

Ya bb do yr research

Also GOAT instrumental, like fucking knockout atmosphere:

Im curious, what do you guys think is their best album

>playing Rock Band with my friends a few years ago
>my friend had all the DLC so he had like 1000 extra songs that weren't included in the main game
>about 9 people were hanging out together, guys and girls
>I Know It's Over by The Smiths comes up in shuffle
>it has a 6 star vocal difficulty (the scale only goes to 5) and a 5 star drum difficulty, mainly due to the second half of the song
>say I'm singing it on expert
>"user you can't do this, we will fail"
>"relax I got this"
>channel my inner Morrissey, sing it fucking flawlessly
>when it's over everyone said they had no clue I could do that
>still don't get laid because the girls there were after my Chad bass player friend

Their albums are pretty poor and the sequencing of them is a joke. They put almost no thought into it.
But individually, the songs by themselves are all fantastic.

doing anything like Moz is guaranteed not to get you laid

>Realize it's Hatful, not Hateful

damn...

It's a buildup of everything, from Joyce and Rourke screwing up constantly, Marr's alcoholism and Morrissey trying to force his vision - and one of the biggest examples of bad communication bringing an end to a band. Nowadays there'll be no Smiths return due to Joyce anyhow since Marr and Morrissey are on amiable terms but Joyce burnt just about every bridge.

ask your friend where he got that custom because that song was never released as dlc
t. manchild who still plays rb3

It's an incredibly punny way of saying empty-headed, it's pretty funny, and something I'd easily expect from them.

Did I shift in from the Berenstein timeline?
I could have sworn that was the song I sang.
Then again, we were all fucking smashed so I could be wrong.

i mean im not saying youre lying but if its the truth i legit want to know where he got the song because the customs community site doesnt have it lol
if your memory is just fuzzy then you were either playing this charming man or stop me

>Marr and Morrissey are on amiable terms
marr hates moz because moz was very vocally in support of leave.
also mike and johnny are on speaking terms i think. mike went to see johnny play at coachella or something and i think they've been on a podcast or a radio show together or some shit.
andy is mates with mike and johnny, not sure about moz.

I have a very vivid memory of looking at the stats for that song and seeing that the drum difficulty was a 5/5. And I remembered that because the drums in that song are very challenging compared to other Smiths songs and I remember we even joked about that. I'm going to investigate this because I think this actually happened and they just scrapped this song from existence.

>everything they've both made since 1987 has been for the most part uninspired nonsense
You mean
>everything Marr has made since 1987 has been uninspired nonsense

Morrissey's solo output has been fucking awful aside from Vauxhall and I and a few singles here and there.

Now he just phones it in and tries to think of the edgiest song title ever to get publicity.

Andy doesn't have too close a relationship with Moz though he's always been a mate of Johnny and Mike, I had forgotten about the leave incident, and Moz hates Mike's guts with a passion.
The Smiths have some pretty complicated drums overall, so it could be anything.

The fuck are you talking about? Most of Morrisseys solo output is amazing

>never made a coherent album
>decent singles with shit b-sided
>best band of all time

>channel inner Morrissey
>still don't get laid by girls

That's because you're a faggot

nah moz and marr are still fond of each other and what they made together, but they're not 'friends'

Morrissey only get laid when he became a Chad in the 90's

Fact

They're great and no band has replaced them yetm

Entry level garbage post-punk. Patricians listen to Echo and the Bunnymen, Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure (not post-Disintegration though)

echo and the bunnymen has one good song

HAHAHAHAHAHA POST-PUNK HAVE YOU EVER LISTENED TO THE SMITHS AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
being influenced by post-punk doesn't make you a post-punk band

Post punk is fucking terrible.

I don't know man, I think Strangeways is sequenced very well, especially in comparison to their other albums.

That's why Vauxhall & I is the best album Morrissey's been involved in

DOES THE BODY RULE THE MIND OR DOES THE MIND RULE THE BODY

>women and mexicans

The Smiths are not post punk you fucking idiot

>listening to their debut for the first time the other day
>last track is “Suffer Little Niggers”

WTF Moz? I guess it was just a different time

Genre? I've only ever listened to The Smiths. Is his solo stuff radically different? I'm afraid of not liking it desu.

(not true, by-the-way!)

I'd say it's actually quite noticeable all over the album. It's not just a remaster but it's been re-engineered too.

70% of their songs are crap, while the other 30% are absoulte masterpieces.

Just like New Order and Smashing Pumpkins.

>>tv

I want to disagree but it feels like you're still being complimentary because most people don't even have one masterpiece.

Wrong on two counts, but I'm not gonna tell which.

Oh, ok then. Thanks for contributing nothing to Sup Forums, faggot

Same to you :p

I don't know.

It's not too different. You'll probably like it.

There's something about how their songs are written and produced that makes me want to throw up.

That doesn't sound healthy. Better get checked-out by a doctor.

Marr is a god and Morrissey is a faggot. Good band

All their music sounds like the same song but it's a good song

The Smiths were so great. And so consistent and prolific. It must’ve been exciting to be a smiths fan in the 80s knowing you were gonna get a new single every three months and a new album each year. Most of my favorite current bands take 3 years to make new albums.

youtube.com/watch?v=qdOHPjMzY8s

still cannot believe how the guitarist managed to make so much music out of one instrument like in this song

Best pop band of the 80s.

>t. hasn't listened to Crocodiles

They definitely do have some bad production (someone take away that bloody harmonica)

t. marr

>implying
Johnny is pure.

>pure
in what sense
morrissey went celibate for decades, you can't get much purer than that

kek so true

Pure of spirit.
Moz may have been celibate but he's super mean. That said, I still like the both of them.

>what is viva hate
>what is your arsenal
>what is bona drag**

Yea I don't think you know what you are talking about. Even his b sides are great, not as great as the smiths but great still
