Likeablity has nothing to do with this, I like my mother btw. Part of why I don't like my dad is that I'd lend him money and it would take ages to get it back. I think he still owes me like £100, but I don't talk to him anymore.

everyone can rely on each other. i can't count the times my parents somehaow saved my ass, so i would do exact the same thing as OP. and yes, it's completely wrong if they make you feel like you would be responsible, but mine for example would never do this – asking for help.
you just help, and don't ask if you can help, as they'd always refuse it.
They made their choices , if you give them money they will fuck up again. What they are doing is so fucked up and wrong making you all stressed out over their bad life decisions. Its not your fault, its not your problem. Like they are in the wrong, if you made that money you could make an investment and be set for life. They are almost ruining your life here and there is no need for this. You never did anything wrong.
