You're definitely a shill but I agree, I'm hyped for this.
looks like cheap version of the film. Olaf also looks like shit
Didn't Jim Carrey already do this childish garbage?
i'd watch for violet
the old guy looks like my accounting professor kek
>Neil Patrick Harris
He's literally a meme come to life
can't beat the film
Also Olaf looks like shit,Neil Patrick Harris was a terrible choice, but other than that it looks good.
How did they find a girl that looks so close to teenage Emily Browning?
Did they clone her?
Seems like the girl is just an uglier version of the girl from the movie.
They gave Klaus glasses, which should be fucking obvious.
Not a stormfag, but the Mr. Poe isn't doing it for me.
Perhaps not, but it's certainly a possibility, considering how much it sucked.
Meh
I thought they were gonna take it seriously, why are they doing the exact same Disneyfied kiddie shit they did with the Carrey movie?
Count Olaf is a fucking brutal murderer
>Count Olaf is a fucking brutal murderer
Technically true, but that's not quite the impression he usually gives in the books. It seems like you would always make him too brooding, or too clownish, and the movie and perhaps this series opted for the latter.
NPH looks kind of odd and I don't know how I feel about a few of the casting choices but I'm cautiously optimistic about this. I would have really liked the outfits to be more faithful to the books, though.
Handler said it would be darker than the film, and I didn't see any "Disneyfied kiddie shit" humor in this trailer, so I'm not sure why you're jumping to conclusions so quickly.
kind of qt IMO
I guess, but she looks like just like a homelier version of the actress from the film when she played the role.
She never gave the impression of a inventor and I doubt this one will.
>Nigger
>Ugly girl
This ain't like I remembered the series.
I never finished the books, someone spoil the ending for me
I think it looks awesome. Nph was a strange choice to say the least, but he at least looks the part. Gonna take me a bit to get used to the voice though
Olaf dies
Beatrice was the Baudelaires' mother.
Olaf dies and actually isn't SO BAD after all
Beatrice is the kids' mother
none of the questions running throughout the series are answered, none of the character-arcs (besides Olaf) get resolved
Lemony Snicket himself never shows up
But all that was kind of the point
I don't remember much about it.
>actually isn't SO BAD after all
It's what none of the fans wanted and if judged on literary standards, is total shit. So by what standard is it not shit?
DUDE VISUALS LMAO
This thread is for girls
>Violet wearing a pink dress
Is it just me, or is anybody else remembering something in the books about the Poe family giving the Baudelaires hand-me-down clothes that they weren't very fond of? I'm hoping that's the case here, I mean we only saw them in the trailer when they had first arrived at Olaf's place. Hopefully she ditches that pink dress ASAP.
Malina Weissman was seemingly cast to remind people of Emily, but she will never even come close.
The costumes probably won't be half as good either.
>those fucking massive lips
Lips>ass>tits
Yeah, there's no way the costumes could end up being as good as the film's. That was something the film did really well. Regardless, I'll take anything over that pink dress.
Girl isn't qt. How can you mess something like that up in current year
>Girl isn't qt
she isn't Emily Browning tier but come on now.
that hairdo though
Am I missing something? For a kids film the film adaption was rather grim.
>can't have a ASOUE thread without the pedos coming out in full force
It was nothing compared to the books
I haven't read the books in years, but I don't remember the first 3 adapted books being much darker than what was in the film.
That's also to be expected surely? You wouldn't have a Darren Shan movie be the same as the books, if your audience is young adult, would you?
Ah Song Of Uss and Eyre?
>the film adaption was rather grim.
Neil patrick harris ruins it regardless of how good the rest of it might be. Absolutely cringeworthy, I would prefer they had just kept Jim Carrey
They still kept it as Olaf trying to kill three kids. He tries to marry one of them, and kills two of their guardians - one by letting them get eaten by leeches.
It had lighthearted stuff sure, but it was still a family-friendly black comedy.
From what I remember a submarine in the shape of a question mark shows up and does nothing. A girl eats horseradish.
Who's /audiobooks/ here?
People are going to praise this shit just because it has that fag NPH in the lead role.
The film was shit.
Factually incorrect.
>spoil the ending
That's impossible, there is no ending.
There were too many mysteries and implied backstory for even half of it to have been resolved well in one book, so it's probably for the best that they didn't try, but it was still disappointing.
It's only shit if you're one of those people who read the books first and expected it to simultaneously recreate the books line-for-line and also contain original ideas without adding to or removing any part of the books.
they all get sick with fungus spores olaf had stowed away in a helmet as part of his disguise as a pregnant woman
olaf gets stabbed and dies
they eat horseradish laced apples as a cure for the fungus spores
I'm sorry
Jim Carrey was perfect for the role. He looked identical to the way he was drawn on the book covers. This is a down grade in every way, Neil Patrick Harris acting is awful, he doesn't fit the part, and he lacks the energy Jim Carrey has.
Too bad this series was utter shite and only the absolute plebbist of plebbitors enjoyed it
>Drops January 13th
Is it a Friday the 13th?
Of course
This. I'm not watching this for the sole reason of NPH
